Good for AMD. I'm glad it lived up to the hype. It forces Nvidia to focus and continue on pushing the envelope with high-end cards.

The reference cooler is a failure as always, I'm curious how much it will be improved in non-reference cards.

Eh? Did it? I was incredibly disappointed by it. It performs pretty much exactly the same (or worse than, in many cases) a GTX 970 or R9 390, both of which you can get for similar prices or even cheaper sometimes, at least here.

Anybody know why webpages keep resetting in size? Everytime i exit out a page and then come back to it later it reverts back to small size instead of what i've set it too,

Anybody know how to fix this? Firefox Browser

You can't get a 970 for less than about $265 in the US, and some of the more expensive 970's are about $350. Same with the R9 390.

I guess this had more to do with expectations. At most, the card was supposed to be a mid-rang VR-capable solution at the cheapest price point. It did that.

That puts it about on par with a 980. For £220 that makes decent sense to me.

The R9s 390s are power hungry, inefficient and still ~£40 more expensive. Their performance advantage in DX11 is negligible to nonexistent, and they lag behind in DX12.

Reaching between 30 and 50 fps in various games I'm not even sure I consider this a 1440p card.

http://www.sweclockers.com/test/22310-amd-radeon-rx-480-8-gb

It loses almost as many benchmarks as it wins. Considering everything in a performance index (however accurate that is) it's about 2% and 5% better than a 390 and 970 respectively at 1080p. Meanwhile, the cheapest RX 480 with crap cooler here costs exactly the same as a Sapphire R9 390.

I'm not saying it's a bad card, I'm saying I feel it is extremely underwhelming and most definitely did not live up to the hype at least I've heard about it.

Bit-Tech's conclusion is a little kinder

That lists comparative UK pricing.

Yes, the pricing in your area is key with this card and that feels like its big problem. Here it is kind of expensive for what you get while the 970 and 390 are cheaper than ever before. That's not what AMD needed. They needed something to scare Nvidia and this isn't it sadly. I feel it is going to get pummeled by the 1060 when it comes. Time will tell.

Haven't used it in a while but I think FF uses two settings for keeping zoom either for a page or tab. Make sure you're using the one you need.

Do you know where to look to find out?

I tried googling a solution and i installed a mod that was suggested but to no avail.

Edit: The Default Zoom Level add on fixed my issue, Apparently i had to restart before it would work even though it didn't tell me to restart

R9-295X2 failed PCIe compliance in the exact same way and I don't think it caused any issues in the end (though still I wouldn't recommend it). Anyway - non-reference design RX-480 cards will likely add an extra PCIe power socket and all will be fine. Edited by yojc

I bought my PC last year in September if I remember correctly. I only cleaned it twice since (only one thorough clean with compressed air last month). Surprisingly there wasn't a lot of dust in there. I think every 2-3 months is decent enough and you won't have a lot to clean.

I clean my PC when I'm bored, which is twice a year tops (dust filters get cleaned every few weeks). Not much point in doing it more often, unless the PC works in a very dusty environment, and/or the case lacks dust filters or they are inadequate. Or, if you just want to keep it pristine clean for whatever reason you fancy.

How do you clean your dust filters? I haven't been able to clean mine properly. Some dust remains stuck in the holes and even compressed air won't help.

The front of my case (CM692) can be detached, I just take it to the garage and clean it with an air compressor. Works good enough :p

If you have the spongy type then a good rinse under a tap and squeeze the stuff out, and them leave it dry thoroughly, preferably in the sun. If you've got the plastic/metal fine mesh type then you could use a toothbrush and rub it over the mesh to help vibrate and scrub it loose and then blow the rest off with an air duster, and wipe down with a lint free cloth.

Depending on the construction even rinsing it under the tap like the spongy types could do the trick... obviously making sure it's nice and dry before assembling again.

But when it comes to cleaning a make-up brush kit in my opinion is essential as the different sizes of brush are perfect and will be nice and soft to help prevent damage.

How would R9s 360 stack up against DX12? because I have 2 of these cards in my other PCs.

make up brushes are great for cleaning dust filters, bristles get right in between the filter mesh.

also on the ethernet discussion its piss easy and cheap to run a cable and hide it, i think i got a 20m cable and that was enough to run it up the wall, into the attic then down into the front room where the router is. cost maybe £5 for the cable and then I hid it with some generic cable box (the kind you use to run cables for wall mounted TV's) - got that free from my uncle since he's an electrician but it doesn't cost much. Stuck a cheap switch on the end to connect other devices and that's it.

For those using NVIDIA GPUs, how does your picture look when you set the "Output dynamic range" setting to "full"? It looks brighter to me than before and colors look a bit more saturated. I think I like this look though I don't think it was meant for monitors like mine (it was probably meant for those with HDR support).

BTW, are HDMI cables backwards compatible? Say, if I buy an HDMI 2.0b cable, will it be compatible with a 4K TV that supports HDMI 2.0a (for 4K 60 Hz)? Well, that was an easy one to Google.
