As a platform it actively inhibits the ability for developers to incorporate much of the additional functionality most devs actively support.

Want to sell your game outside of the Microsoft store? Well you can't, because it's a proprietary format and sideloading is disabled as standard by Microsoft. Want to disable VSync? Tough. Want SLI or Crossfire support? Tough. Want to change keyboard and mouse bindings? Tough. Want to have mod compatibility? Tough.

Also, Tim Sweeney said it can, should and must die literally 72 hours ago.

Yep. So it is a cancer for the PC platform that must be eradicated. The only Microsoft games I'm interested in at the moment is Quantum Break and the Forza series but I guess those games would be a reason to get an Xbox One in the future (which I'm planning to do anyway in order to be able to play the next GTA game at launch).

So I've found an old family PC with specs:

AMD Athlon XP 2000+

1GB DDR-333

PCChips (yes, that ECS subsidiary) M863G (SiS (yes, SiS) 741GX)

2x 40 GB Maxtor (yes, Maxtor) spinners.

I've flashed the BIOS so that it supports widescreen, too bad capped at 1280x720. I've been thinking of getting a cheap AGP card, what should I buy?

What are you gonna do with it? Install Linux?

Unfortunately Ubuntu 15.10 failed to even recognize that there is a package for SiS IGP X.Org, "xserver-xorg-video-sis". It's slow as f*ck and took me over 5 seconds from typing a text and for it to show up on screen, even for terminal.

Currently on Windows 7 without graphics driver (somehow the "Standard VGA Adapter" driver managed to do 1280x768, which is not bad for my little TV I currently use for it), because the SiS driver for XP f*cked up widescreen support.

I've ordered an old GeForce 6600 AGP for like, $8.

The whole Xbox Numbering Convention is bollocks.

Xbox --> Xbox 360 --> Xbox One.

Da Fuk?

They know for sure that if Xbox One were to be named Xbox 720, people would joke about it extremely hard, especially in the early days.

Yes, I know he said that, but he backtracked after reading Microsoft's official statements from Windows VP, Kevin Gallo, and Phil Spencer's responses on Twitter.

  • The Universal Windows Platform is a fully open ecosystem, available to every developer, that can be supported by any store. We continue to make improvements for developers; for example, in the Windows 10 November Update, we enabled people to easily side-load apps by default, with no UX required.
  • We want to make Windows the best development platform regardless of technologies used, and offer tools to help developers with existing code bases of HTML/JavaScript, .NET and Win32, C+ + and Objective-C bring their code to Windows, and integrate UWP capabilities. With Xamarin, UWP developers can not only reach all Windows 10 devices, but they can now use a large percentage of their C# code to deliver a fully native mobile app experiences for iOS and Android. We also posted a blog on our development tools recently.

I just think this has been totally blown out of proportion. Honestly, wanting to see something "die"? C'mon.. :whuh:

To be honest, his saying that he looks forward to the technical details doesn't really constitute backtracking.

So i downloaded a movie online and the movie downloaded as a "File" instead of an MP4/AVI, Now the movie will play fine on my PC though the media players but i'd like to play the movie on my TV via USB Harddrive and my TV won't reconize the file and my video conversion programs don't recognize it either.

So can anyone tell me how to fix this issue or will i have to look for a difference version of the movie?

Open it in a text editor like Notepad and take a screenshot of the top of the file, stick it up on here. The header will tell you what kind of file it is.

So I managed to chip the die of the 6600. The cooler mounting got ruined on one side in shipping (those little plastic tabs sucks ass), then when I tried to fix it, it made an uneven load causing a chip to the edge of the die. F*ckin 8 bucks wasted.

I'm more confused about the '1 series'. Did they do a 1 series? I always thought it was the 256 then the 2 series.

Phil Spencer is literally a full sack of sh*t. All he does is sh*ttalk and wants us to believe Microsocks cares about the PC gamers.

That whole Windows Store is a cancer, it's full loaded with aids and diarhea. Glad R* didn't made GTAV a Windows Store game

but seeing all those problems that sh*t W Store has, R* aren't that stupid to do that. Hopefully more game devs won't put their

sh*t on that dirty Windows Store.

That was an accident I was probably about 5 when the 256 came out so my knowledge on parts that far back is limited lol

Here's hoping they at least give us more details about Pascal at GTC this April if not an actual GPU showcase. f*ck AI and deep learning.

Did anybody else see what this idiot on the LTT forums did? He drilled an entire new hole into the PCB of a fricken 980 Ti, then snaps it in half just due to the reasoning of "Because I'm sad?"

I can't stop face palming.

He buys a $650 GPU and the wrong expensive cooler for it. Then skimps out on the case and buys/makes one that is too small and decides that drilling a hole in the GPU to make it fit the rest of his scheme is the best way to go? My brain can not fathom this much stupidness at one time.

I have bad days sometimes but this makes me feel better as I know I wouldn't ever do anything this daft.

This is exactly how I feel about this situation :p I'm sure we've all done stupid sh*t in the past with our tech, but we've definitely learned from it.. but to do what he did is just nuts.

Those look dope. I like the Graphic on the Radeon HD4670 Card the most.

They have presumably discontinued that so that Manufacturing Costs are reduced.

Did someone checked gtx 1080 leak ?

I wouldn't bother with leaks tbh. It just builds you up for disappointment, you hear some BS, think it's real and then get let down when it doesn't happen. I guarantee that people will complain that "Pascal isn't 10x more powerful than Maxwell" because they saw a clickbait headline that said it would be.
