Put it towards the two H50's you need?

Already got one from a member at forums.nvidia.com for $40.

The gift card card expires in 90 days, and while I'd like to, I might not have another $60 to pay for the rest of the H50.

Figured I'd get something small that I'd like to have, but never really have the little bit of extra money for.

Maybe a USB 3.0 card, a fan controller, something semi-useful but not usually worth buying.

USB 3.0 would be pretty useful for the future, I'd go for it.

I was thinking the same thing, but then again, I couldn't even find any USB 3.0 cards under $20, and I don't really have much need for one. (only thing I use USB ports for is my PC controller, and very rarely my 2Gb flash drive.)

Besides, I'm running low on expansion slots, and have several extra 5.25 bays.

Well thankyou. smile.gif

I'm spending 10 of it on a 24-pin extension cable. (need on with the new case)

So now I have $10 to spend on newegg. No 5.25 bay fan controllers in that price range, so I'll have to find something else.

Edit:

Alright, I got a black 24-pin extension cable, two 10" 90 degree Black SATA cables, and 3-day shipping. Ended up costing me $3.37.

Been trying to get my 1055T to 4GHz for 1 day now, finally booted it up to windows, but prime crashes instantly ofc, its at 1,5V (LOL) and idle temperature is 41-43c, not too bad.

Also, i feel like my HD 5770 is dieing, at least i got summer job starting at next monday, so i get money for new HDD (which is a must by cuz this one is old and dead), and then i might get like GTX275, trade my 5770 + some money for it wink.gif

What's your price range?

I suggest you lose Windows 7 starter. It's garbage.

Since this is Tech Chat, thought I'd post this here:

http://gizmodo.com/5580592/new-ultra+batte...gy-storage-ever

What do you get when you combine some xenon, some fluoride, and pressures similar to those found at the center of the Earth? You get an ultra-battery, capable of storing more condensed energy than any other battery ever built.

The material used to make the "battery" is xenon difluoride (XeF2), a white crystal primarily used to etch silicon conductors. The crystal was placed in a diamond anvil cell, a tiny device that measures only two inches by three inches. The cell uses two tiny diamond anvils (as you might expect, considering its name) to produce incredibly high pressures in tiny, contained spaces.

Laptops will never be the same...

I'm all for more powerful batteries, but this just seems insanely dangerous. Putting that much power into that little of a space is just waiting for something to go wrong and the laptop to explode or something. Plus how do you keep the thing cool, that's gotta generate a sh*tload of heat.

I don't know, I haven't seen anything about heat tests yet, maybe it will have it's own fan to help out? Or they make an extremely small one, with not as much heat output, but still very powerful?

Ive been thinking of getting an Iphone 4 recently yet Im aware of the intense hatred by many for all things Apple. Why is this? Is it that bad the iPhone? Anyone here can recommend it from previous experience?

The thing with the iPhone is that it's overpriced and overhyped. For the same price there are phones with much more features in them. The iPhone isn't that high tech compared to other phones in the same price point.

However, it's up to you. If you like it, go ahead and get it. However consider doing some research on the other phones available. You might find something you like more smile.gif.

GSMArena is a good site for information on phones.

Its defintely overpriced but Im getting it free hopefully so I wont have to worry about price. I dont make many calls, I think I want it mainly for the plethora of apps/games that are out for it but it would be nice to have the added phone feature also. smile.gif I dont know how Windows 7's and Androids apps compare to the iPhones and whether it is better or not.

Heat would be my biggest worry.

But really, they'd scale it down I'm sure. They know it's not smart to put so much power in a laptop, lol. Although, we don't really know how much power their 2x3inch device can store, they didn't mention it. Of course, it's probably much higher than a laptop would need, possibly for even a month lol.

Just a quick question, what would you guys pay for a computer with:

- 256mb RAM

- 40GB HDD

- Pentium 4 Processor

?

Because one of my neighbours came round to my house expecting £60 for that. I told him that's too high for that computer. What do you guys think?

Give more info... What P4 is that (s478, LGA775)? What PSU and case does it have? Is it sold together with monitor?

If it's s478 P4 and it has some generic case and PSU, I wouldn't ask for more than about ~£30-40.

Didn't have time to check that stuff, but I presume it was an LGA775. The case was pretty old. And it's with no monitor. £30 is what I thought for that thing

Is there something REALLY weird going on with GTX470/480 prices in your countries too?

Just a week ago cheapest reference design GTX470 (Gainward) costed about ~1150zł/~$370. Now it's ~940zł/~$300.

Just a week ago cheapest reference design GTX480 (Gainward) costed about ~1750zł/~$565. Now it's ~1150zł/~$370

For comparison, cheapest reference design 5850's (ASUS) price is more or less stable at ~1070zł/~$345.

I mean, WHAT THE f*ck IS HAPPENING? Is it some sort of dream coming true or what? $_$
