Another month, another update^^

 

Added FP section for Casino/Cayo Perico as well added Door glitch category for Cayo Perico (when/if even patched, this and it's runs will be removed).

I've added 20s handicap to all old Act II runs (marked with *), as that's roughly what I've measured the time difference to reach the surface to be - now it should be possible to compete on the same pace despite of the current deeper spawn under the sub.

 

Soon it's been five years since the Elite timers for Fleeca/Humane/Series/Pacific got messed up, I think it's safe to give up on hoping for them to be fixed. For a while now, that haven't seen to work like when they were originally messed, nor as before.

I'm getting reports that it's been fixed here and there, it still hasn't, but it sure isn't working like it did one, three nor six years ago.

Over the last, just shy of, five years the runs have been optimized so much that run pre-patch 1.34 is (almost) non-existent on the Leaderboards these days.

Concluding the 8 second advantage is quite obsolete, as there isn't really any pre-patch 1.34 runs to compare with here, meaning in the near future all runs will be adjusted to fit removal of this rule.

As well a few extra things to add once this is done to address the generosity of some timers, as mentioned in earlier posts^^

Regarding the door glitch category on Cayo Perico, makes sense, because it could be patched.

 

However worth keeping in mind there are two ways to access gold solo. One where you take cover against the door (IMHO, a glitch) - another in Aggressive approach where a guard may be inside and have "unlocked" the door for you (IMHO, not a glitch, but probably not intended as a possibility by R*). Not wishing to overcomplicated things but possible both could be patched out?

Yeah, aware of the differences. I've kept the aggressive (no-keycard gold/whatever) under the usual CP Solo/Co-op categories, and Door glitch is just for the the first one you mentioned, with taking cover. 

Also adding a note on sheets whether general Solo/Co-op runs are Stealth or Aggressive, just for refference.

I would say no, regardless of how many rooms you go in, it'll be under the one Door glitch category. Getting something to fill the whole bag from a single room should be fairly common.

Unless you get 2 gold in the western hut with Bearer Bonds your run is automatically trash. Getting 1 painting + gold is almost as slow as getting 2 stacks of gold from 2 different huts.

At least if there was a split loot door glitch category then you wouldn't need god RNG to get a good run started.

 

Here's what the run looks like, it's honestly a really fun category.

I guess I'll reiterate what I said earlier for people that don't run Cayo Perico.
It's true that getting 2 gold in the western storage room isn't that uncommon with the plasma cutter, the problem with that is you lose ~6-12 seconds when compared to Bearer Bonds.
And getting Bearer Bonds with 2 western gold is exceedingly rare, from personal experience 2-3% at best, I've only seen it a single time after 100s of runs/cancelations.

So by making door glitch a one off category instead of splitting it, you're making it significantly less competitive.

Not that I'm an authority here but just sharing my opinion, it seems to me to be a good thing because of rule 2 in the OP:

Glitching through a door wasn't thing before Cayo Perico, so wasn't explicitly referenced, however, it's awfully like wall breaching which in previous heists would have invalidated a time. So some people might argue that door glitching isn't a valid way to achieve a legit time. And I'm not saying I'd agree wholly with that line, but I don't think it would be an unfounded position to take either. A door glitch category seems a good compromise to compare times fairly where the same method has been used and avoid a protracted debate about is this / isn't this an exploit that should be allowed. I think Witt also has to guard against the possibility that R* may well patch this glitch out, in which case it definitely wouldn't be fair to keep them mixed in.

From some of your earlier posts you seem to think shooting a door open is somehow different than forcing it open.

Let's be honest, if RockStar patches the door glitch the "NPC opening the door for you glitch" is getting patched out too and he can just delete that category after it's patched, it doesn't matter if it's split between 2 different categories.

 

Edit: After reading your post again I'm not sure you read previous posts. I'm not mad about the door glitch category, all I want is a second door glitch category for split secondary locations.

Uh difficult to engage in that door glitch discussion. Really hard to say, i don't think that "forcing open" and "shooting open" is the same but i'll just be open minded whatever you guys will decide.

 

Still trying to figure out new stuff.

I had great longfin jumps but not in that run.

Two questions regarding the cayo perico heist:

 

1. The agressive and slient are two different methods on approach and the latter one has one more elite requirement (not getting spotted), will you consider putting them in a seperate category?

While casino have 3 different approaches you can choose in the beginning, each has a different elite requirement, and the final time can vary too.

 

2. "For replayability", is it possible to put the normal difficulty on the leaderboard similar to the casino one (4 sec on fingerprints etc.)?

I've split the Cayo categories into Aggro/Stealth as well made more for the Door glitch. Hopefully I've split it correctly and relisted all the obsolete runs there were made some space for while doing so.

As a follow up I've removed the ''8 second rule'' and adjusted all times where applicable. So Fleeca/Humane/Series/Pacafic will be listed with the in-game elite time once again.

 

I'll try to get through the latest runs and get them on the board asap as well.
