- Chasing down runaway circus animals to sedate, capture, or sell the components to Gus for unique accessories.
- Bigtop tent where Madame Nazar could have permanent residency.
- Spend currency for a chance to win rare items from circus/fair related games. (Shooting pop up targets, ring toss (similar to horseshoes) fishing, bull riding....)
Could be their way to incorporate hot air balloons.

Rideable Zebras. Feather crown horse accessories. Hobo Clown outfits. Tattoos. Getting to watch performances with your friends.

I feel badly for saying this because I'd like to be more supportive of the idea, but I don't see this fitting the theme of the game as a full Role, and it seems to be too dependent on other Roles to really stand on its own.  :(

I do, however, think this would make for a fantastic seasonal event (I'd also like to see an Undead Nightmare Seasonal as something like "The Consumption" for October/Halloween, and some sort of Steampunk event like "The World's Fair" for Christmas/January/NY).  I feel like this would be an excellent Spring-time fit for an event around March/Easter.  Every year around that time, we could have E.P. Dunham & Daley's Traveling Circus come to Blackwater in an event called something like "Hunting The Big Top" where various missions become available, like Sedating/Recovering animals that have gotten loose - or you could sell their rare pelts to Gus.  You could be the one setting them loose for Harriet, who feels they are being abused.  You could go on a treasure hunt for Madame Nazar to gather rare collectibles, or perhaps steal something she wants from some gypsies traveling with the circus (there could be some interesting story content here).  Circus-related games could be a good money-sink and currency, both: Spend cash for Tokens which you then spend to play the games.  You then have a chance to win the game and earn a reward instantly, or grind it out and buy the rewards, instead - those rewards being things like the Hobo Clown outfits or Tattoos or unique photo backgrounds exclusive to the event.

I don't hate your idea; I just think it would be better implemented this way, instead.  I hope you don't mind me butting in like this.  :/  Thanks for sharing.  :)

P.S. Not really sure how a hot air balloon would work with this idea, but I can see it being more plausible as part of a Steampunk Event.

I like to leave options open to interpretation, instead of nitpick the finite details. Leaves room for R* to make it their own. I honestly really like some of your implementations. I hadn’t even thought of setting the animals free- just like the thought of interweaving the roles.

I was stretching it with the hot air balloon idea. I don’t honestly know if we’ll ever get them in online considering most of the Icarus quest was heavily scripted.

Im sure we’ll have some kind of way to convert money into tokens in the near future. GTA’s casino has left a very good impression on it’s player base. It would be silly to not try and convert something similar over. This was my attempt at creating a refreshing version of said thing- I feel like we’ll still get the steamboat instead. =/

Hoping one day for a steampunk event, just hope they won’t go over the top with it. I feel like everyone playing with jetpacks and mechanical horses might be a bit silly.

I don't really feel like Seasonals should have an effect on the core mechanics of gameplay - that being said, I'd have to say that jetpacks and mechanical horses are definitely out.  Seasonals should offer a good time sink in the form of new content, and some interesting cosmetics, but nothing that really changes the game from what it is.  I was thinking for the Steampunk event something like Victorian dress with a few thematic enhancements, cosmetic variants on weapons, and if a jetpack was to be thrown into the mix, it would have to be something that gave you a ridiculously small benefit (10% higher jump) at steep cost (50/50 it blows up and kills you with each use).

As for the tokens, I meant a unique currency to the event like you might buy at an arcade, where it is only valid currency at that arcade.  :p

Thank you for the kind words.  :)

I might’ve honestly lost it to your novelty idea of a jet pack.😆 The way you mentioned it honestly sounds fun.

The only issue with tokens being incorporated into a seasonal thing is once the circus goes away, there’s no conversion method.

Also, it’d be such a large undertaking for it to be a once a year event. And for something as big as “The Big Top”, where would it even go. Plus the team has such a large list of things to do already with their role ideas. The idea would include crowds of people, multiple voiced characters, performances, unique animal models... Totally not saying it’s not all possible. Some of it could be reused Or unused models from the many stranger events.

I like all those ideas I am not sure the programmers at Rockstar would feel the same way but it's their loss. ;)

10 rem: tard

30 gosub BASIC

40 return

50 goto rem

60 Gosubroutine x, start count at for 1 to 10 next x, insert "bless they thinks theys people" Return to sender. x

It’s the only game where something like this might fit and be a fun original interactive experience.
If the games take skill to win the games and not luck, I wonder if it might cost small amounts of gold to play for some of the cooler prizes.

Yeah Like I said excellent Ideas I think they would really add to the game and make it more interesting and exciting than it already is especially after you finish story mode it would be nice to get something like all of your ideas if not for the sheer effort of ploughing through the epilogue which is let's face it Farm Simulator 2.0 but for the sh*ts and giggles.

Ride Zebras made me chuckle it's like that DR addage if you see horses expect Zebras, or something like that referring to Diagnosing the inevitable Via House MD or some such.

I don't necessarily see Zebras happening, but I would recommend checking out the American Thoroughbred horses in the Racing Horses section of the stable.  I forget the name of the exact breed, but there is one that is remarkably similar, in that is has these dappled stripes in black and white (with a blurry gray mix - I named mine Shadow).

Ah yeah I see where you were going the Arabian is of course the only breed of "choice" but I catch your drift. Incidentally did you know that horses originated in North America then spread across asia via the land rift to ironically reappear when reintroduced by Europeans, useless fact but the indians liked them, well before we wiped them out.

It's actually where the term thoroughbred comes from. Basically inbreeding the hell out of the stock to produce what is now known as the racing horses, and I'm boring myself now so I'll shut up. 😛

Horses are native to Asia, actually.  They were introduced to America by Europeans, which is why there are no Native American words for "horse" and only words with other meanings or words taken from European languages.  :p

I'd prefer not to de-rail the thread with another topic, though, so I'll leave it at that.  Thanks for the trivia fun, though.  :)

Actually horses are native to Asia is a commonly held myth they appeared orignally in North America and crossed the land bridge during the way back when, we consider them native to Monglia beause of Ghengis Khan and native hence to Arabia hence the term thorough bred, and so on but it's actually not true, all horses geographically originated in North America ironically only reappearing through European Ingress into the continent via Mexico and Canada AKA Ryan Reynolds, look it up. David Attenborough would approve. 😛

Point taken about derailing the thread though. ;)

Our last RDR Online game, we could have a rideable Zebra Donkey & Bull. I dunno if it’d be too out of the ordinary per say- I just think the Zebra would be under it’s own class within the stable. Similar on if we were to get a Donkey. A rideable animal already in RDR, just currently not purchasable from stable.

Useless but true fact horses will not enter caves under any condition although mules will, hence the reason you always see mules pulling mining carts in the movies. You can try to get a horse to enter a cave in game Rockstar got that right they will never do it, which is unsurprising considering what lives in the dark...

Seriously next time you are up near one of those mountain/mine caves near Annesberg or Valentine try and get your horse to walk in you'll end up flat on your arse looking stupid. :)

Weird that my horse has no issue with the long train tunnels ;)

Guess that is not realistic?  I mean, to a horse that would appear to be a "cave."

I never knew that fact, in game. I just assumed Rockstar did it because caves were uneven terrain, with possibly tight corners,

which might "bug" the horse out or cause difficulties if it was going to "flee."  That may be the actual reason ;)

"According to Scientific American, the first horses originated in North America and then spread to Asia and Europe.

The horses left in North America became extinct about 10,000 years ago and were re-introduced by colonizing Europeans."

Ah, did not know that. So that is why people think that thing about them not originating here; Native Americans, not having written

history (or at least certainly not 10,000 years ago.... ), would see them as something totally 'new." Never knew whatever variation was

still here became extinct.

=================

There is that "Circus Wagon" NPC in the game, but I don't really see enough there for a "role."

Of course, I would have never thought of Harriet/Gus/Naturalist either ;)

Rancher/farmer always seems more like something they'd do as a role.
