OREOBOREALIS
North east from valentine, the not so foresty open leaf tree part of southern parts of cumberland forest is home of my native character. Kind of "hidden" part thats not hidden but no one doesnt even know it exists because theres nothing happening lol... but looks pretty with the snowy mountains in background and the open fields and the trees and thats my characters home land. ..well i mostly play to take screenshots though nowadays and its really good looking place for it ..and theres no a holes bothering me yeezy203, DentureDynamite, I would prefer not to and 4 others

ALifeOfMisery
Moved my shack around this week as it's free and I've got to say, out of all the locations, Tall Trees is by far my favourite. It's very convenient because of the Manzanita Post fast travel post, the roads are mostly flat, checkpoints can be avoided easily when going for the deliver moonshine with 5 minutes left daily, it has spawn points for the Wakpa Boar and Snow Buck literally seconds away from it and the hunting in Tall Trees in general is great. I've had my shack there before and only moved because of its popularity, but in low pop lobbies that isn't an issue. I had planned to move back to the Grizzlies shack on Monday, but I think I'll be staying in Tall Trees, at least until R* "fix" low pop lobbies. AStiffBreeze
I generally have my camp set to Great Plains. It’s close to Blackwater, Thieves Landing, and my Moonshine shack in Tall Trees. The plains are great for hunting because you have long sight lines without trees to run into. A big part of that choice is that all of the Great Plains camp spots work well. I really like Big Valley too, but a lot of the Big Valley camp spots are in poor locations, away from the best hunting part of the valley itself. The same goes for the Grizzlies camp spots: if I could be guaranteed ones up in the snow I’d love it, but it’s too much of a lucky dip as to where you get. I would love it if we had more precise control over our specific camp spot. kcole4001 and fryday

YusufAmirsBF
Great Plains because it's great for trader. Flat land which makes it easy to hunt, two cougar spawns that are really close to each other and Blackwater is near. But I plan to move somewhere in New Hanover because I got bored of GP. kcole4001 and AStiffBreeze

It is beautiful; my only problem with that place is the ever-present fear of being attacked by a cougar or bear. 8-O kcole4001

It ran out of steam quickly and ate a couple of shotgun slugs before I went on my way. Krommer
Hennington's stead Moonshine shack, by the shore. Camp is rarely there (by the shore, around the moonshine shack) , but kind of neat when it is. Usually the camp is near McFarlane's ranch a bit (camp is also set at Hennington's stead, like the shack.) I like the area because for both the trader and moonshine deliveries things are pretty flat. For nearly any fishing daily, porting to my Moonshine shack puts me near shore where I can catch fish with live bait, bluegill, chain pickerel, redfin chain pickerel, largemouth bass and even steelhead trout farther east along the shore. Harriet is not far North East of McFarlane's, so convenient for her stuff as well. You can also throw a rock, hitting a pronghorn or rabbit (or ravens flying by, for "medium" animals.) Other things are also in abundance, such as coyotes, turkeys and water critters at the finger streams near McFarlane's (once the animal spawns were fixed, resupply missions for a "turtle to the trader" are quick there.) Porting to my Moonshine shack gets me to those white desert iguana, along the shore (which are also convenient for "medium" animals.) So it is very fast for Cripp's medium or large animals, or even small ones (squirrels all over, plus toads always at those finger streams now that spawns are fixed.) Other players seem a bit rare for the area, so there is also that (though not as a big of an issue now, only being in a lobby with maybe 1-4 people.) There is really no "big predator" in the area, unless you get a spawn of wolves. The only other one I've encountered is since the Naturalist update, with a Legendary cougar spawn around those "finger" streams by McFarlane's? I think that was the place. I've gone past grizzlies and wolves on trader sales before but they never bothered me. They must have changed that recently. Well, that's a good thing really. Leftover Pizza
Tall Trees is home for both my characters. There’s only 1 stranger mission giver there, so fewer people will bother to go there, unless traveling through. kcole4001
DentureDynamite
Actually, although my home is the Scarlett Meadows/Heartlands border, I'd love to be able to hangout (or even buy) a treehouse like the one below. Simple, unique, safe from predators and (hopefully) the law. Wish I could remember where this was--should have saved the map location.
