multiplayer is not only PvP, it also contains coop.

have you ever played the story with your friends? no? because multiplayer is made for this ;)

It's a very weak counter, makes no sense whatsoever if the player saying that nonsense has actually played this game (or others similar).

Unless R* can make the game work as it does today with 20+ players in a lobby, they can't "fix" it without looking foolish.

 

I don't think they could run this game on consoles any other way than it does now, without stressing people's hardware again. My guess is that lobby merging is done by constant data collecting on user side, instead of server side. Constant trying to reconnect the user's console to another lobby, to keep lobbies full. 

I've not only noticed that the world is more alive, free roam encounters spawning, or my console being a lot more quiet, but also that corpses and carcasses don't despawn as much as before. Clearing a moonshiners roadblock or hideout now leaves all corpses to loot, even if shot from a distance. After shooting an animal, you can roam a lot further away from the carcass and still be able to collect it. 

Their vision on the hostility in the world still works this way too. I've had more bears and wolves attacking me in low pop lobbies, than other players in high pop lobbies. Riding through Tall Trees is far less of a leisure ride through the woods. I'm much more on my toes for predator attacks and far less feared for disconnects, errors and morons. 

I'm quite sure that R* will get tons of hate to deal with, if they revert back to full non working lobbies.

Heck yeah--the most players I had over the last two days was 7; most of the time it was 3-4, myself included.

 

And man, oh man, was it nice! Didn't even mind getting mauled by a black bear around Manzanita Post. lol

Most importantly, it's easy to just look at what content is being added to the game.

Without any overestimation, ~95+% of content R* keeps adding to the game is not just 'soloable', it's AIMED at solo players. Less than 5% of content is actually even possible to 'share' with other players.

 

Yet some people keep trying to pretend this is some sort of MMO, or, god forgive me, a pvp shooter game.

 

On a more thread-related note, lobbies seem to be broken again - seeing 23+ people in every lobby. Oh well, I enjoyed playing the game this week, guess it's time to return to slaying mongols.

f*ck! I'm in a lobby of 23 again......

 

Lobby hopped twice, landed in a 23-24 lobby. Now reloading the game and hope I get a low pop lobby again..... f*ck!

 

Reloaded back into a high pop lobby, camp get's pitched all over the map..... we're f*cked, people. Rockstar doesn't give a f*ck about what we enjoy. 

 

Well, that was the end of that game again. f*ck them, f*ck them hard for dumping us back in non-working lobbies. f*ck them with a big rubber dick, break it off and beat them with the rest of it (courtesy: George Carlin).

Anyone suggesting lone wolf's should go play story mode clearly have no clue what the game is, lol. They just make themselves look a fool even trying those weak suggestions. 🤣🤣

First load in resulted in a 020001006. Then I ended up in a 23 lobby. Now trying to reload the game and see where it ends up. I was in a 3-4 player lobby all day.....

 

f*ck! reloaded back into a 24 player lobby.....

So they ruined this game again?? and for what? God forbid players have fun. Why do they think a broken game is better than a game firing on all cylinders? Just so players fight with one another? How utterly stupid of the management of RDO. Those in charge should be fired for this, unless the decision comes down from the very top. Why should execs want 23-person lobbies that break the majority of the game mechanics, just so there's frustration and conflict? It makes no sense. 

 

Maybe if they see enough players leaving because of it, and bitching and moaning, they'll go back to the utopia of smaller sessions.

 

I guess I'm off to explore other games again, damn it. I'll keep an eye on the forum to see if it ever gets reverted again to small lobbies for a fun game. If not, there are lots of other things to do, and plenty of other games to play. Really sad though, when it's working perfectly it's easily the best game of its kind out there.

started in a lobby with 15 or so, dribbled down to 11 half an hour later, then 7, and finally 4. world was functional, alive. all good in europe!?

Looks like it. I tried several times and loaded in crowded lobbies every time. Went to Valentine and noticed frame rates are lower again too. When I arrived in Valentine in low pop lobbies, the town was full of NPC's, chickens in the streets and several wagons riding around. When I got there a few minutes ago....., 3 NPC's in the whole town of which 1 was walking around and 2 at the saloon at the side and that's it. The town is dead again.

 

f*ck THOSE ROCKSTAR DICKS!

I'm hoping R* re-breaking the game takes some headlines for sure. I tend to avoid social media aside here, but this could be a good reason to jump aboard and add to the farce.

 

But at least now the COD/Fortnite rejects can can stop sulking. 🤣🤡

Random events rare again?

 

I guess they still haven't figured out their overpopulated lobbies are the problem. From what I saw, just about all the issues I had were gone in small lobbies.

 

Well, back to Last of Us 2.

How was it in terms of animal/NPC/event spawns when it was fuller?

 

I was getting relatively high spawn rates in populated sessions for a few days before 2-4 players became the norm this week passed...

every lobby I'm in now has max amount of players... also, load times are sh*t and I can't browse any stores cuz the NPCs are turned away from the counter... f*ckin bravo R*

I was really enjoying the smaller lobbies, but I knew they would update the game on Monday to “fix” the lobbies.

 

You would think Rockstar would add an option for smaller lobbies after how well the game functioned and the community responded to them.

well, 6 hours later the magic is gone it seems. 24 players in session...laggish!

You're right. For the first time in a looooooooooong time, the game was actually fun. I don't remember when it was so much fun really.

Tried a bounty $$$ (it didn't register). The bounty target, was headed to Fort Wallace - intercept riding party; threw Bola (it didn't register). Hogtied the bounty and it was all f*cked up.

 

The bounty, symbol was a solider.

Not gonna lie. I tried 10 times to see if I was just unlucky or if the lobbies are merged again. In 8 out of 10 lobbies, there was at least 3 pink or red posses active. In the previous low pop lobby days, and I have hopped a bunch to get LA's to spawn, not 1 name pink or red. 

The first high pop lobby I landed in welcomed me with the X killed Y message on screen. I quickly checked the lobby and noticed I wasn't in a low pop lobby anymore. f*ck! 

Haven't tried logging in an 11th time. I don't want to return to the empty world, barren of free roam encounters.

One of the soldiers from Fort Wallace and he was accompanied by soldiers also. The bounty target was a woman on the bounty poster.

It's pretty embarrassing how R* would rather this broken mess over the satisfaction and joy so many had with this game of late.

 

I'm back to ragging on the game now, lol. But no matter how farcical it gets, at least I have had this awesome week in the fantastic world of RDRO. Shame it was just a temporary fix but it is what it is.

I saw one pink dude yesterday, just off on his own in a field near the oilfields.

Eventually I rode by him on the road on my way somewhere else and he took no notice so it was either just some friendly pvp or perhaps an accident, he wasn't a typical GTA style tard.

He eventually turned blue and was in the session the whole time without going pink again.

There is definitely something seriously wrong with them.
