I would prefer it set in the 60's, but I'll take a game set in the closing years. Plus I like Ronald Reagan. Regardless this might be the first call of duty game that interests me since mw2. This looks great. I'm afraid when I play it, it will be the same type of repetitive run and gun gameplay. But the setting and the atmosphere looks great. paperbagdude Posted August 31, 2020 Share Posted August 31, 2020 Kind of weird to see Treyach go back to the good old Mason-Woods story telling, considering how their past two releases; Black Ops III- and IV only had about one reference to the events of the original timeline. I guess there was some public demand for sci-fi oriented shooters back in the mid-2010's, which sadly led the developers to distance themselves from either historic or modern day war themes, hence how the Black Ops story went down the drain. Yes, I have spent countless hours playing both Advanced Warfare by Sledgehammer Games and especially Black Ops III in my high school years, but Black Ops II was the last true installment I would gladly pronounce my love for. Not sure if Cold War will be released for the PS4 (or if it is even worth it performance-wise), but I am definitely looking forward to this title. The N. I have been wanting to get back into COD for a while now but I really did not like the latest MW.. maybe I'm just past the age where I could compete in these types of games. Original Light Posted September 7, 2020 Share Posted September 7, 2020 (edited) I was a big fan of Black Ops 1, 2 and 3. 4 was a big disappointment for me. The main thing was the lack of a singleplayer campaign, and the zombies mode was no longer "crisp". It felt as though they over complicated the mechanics. If this is more like the earlier games, I'll be very pleased. Black Ops 1 was arguably my favorite campaign, and probably the only campaign from a COD game that I replayed (hell, with most of them I never even finish the first playthrough). It looks so bland, cheap and unsatisfying. MW2019 was a much needed refreshment for an already fatigued franchise and Treyarch just took it two steps back with BOCW.
