Mister Pink
Thought I'd try make a new culinary thread as The Food pr0n thread has died they're always usually a bit of fun. Been eating Samyang Buldak Korean hot sauce a lot lately. First time I had it out of the bottle was a mistake. I came home after a few beers. Saw some rice I had left over from a bento box I had the day before. It was pure plain rice so I drenched it what I thought was new soy sauce my gf bought. About 4 scoops in, I was like "this is delicious!." So then I got more squirted it on. Maybe it was the alcohol in me but I didn't feel anything until about 5 forkful's of rice. Then bam! It was hotter than the sun! I looked at the bottle again and there's this picture of a chicken with flames coming out of it's mouth! I never experienced anything so hot in my life. Milk, is incredibly good at neutralizing the heat but only does so for the duration in it's in my mouth. Then the pain comes back. It lasted about 15 minutes. It was agony but really fun at the same time. Anyway, I've been having healthy doses on my noodles and it's not that bad at all. It's hot but manageable. What have you been eating? I ordered a bento box from a Japanese place. And it comes in plastic but with different things in each section. I had karage chicken, dumplings, sushi, salad. It's nice if you like to try lots of different things in one sitting. Here's a random picture from the internet. Looks something similar to what I got. B7R
I'm not much of a big food eater, call me "fussy" if you will but however I just can't pass up a good ol Devon roll when Lunch time rolls (heh pun) around. I believe the meat comes from pigs or cows? Not too sure but I've been having this stuff for as long as I can remember, you can also put tomato sauce on it according to my friends but I'm not a fan of tomatoes. Anyway both the meat and rolls are from ALDI, I believe the Devon is Berg Branded, but I can't remember who makes the rolls but believe it's some company called Bakehouse or something. Sorry for the ugly ass photo too but I'm really starving and looking forward to eating this. Arrows to Athens

It takes about an hour to make the noodles and that includes the half an hour where you let the dough sit. Of course the other half hour is fun playing with dough and the hand crank pasta machine. mr quick
It's not so glamorous, but since moving back in with my parents, I've really enjoyed the luxury of mom's home cooking. NaidRaida
I had tortellini with spicy tomato sauce and pepperoni. I'd call it Tortellini Arrabiata although it has no onions, which the classic Penne Arrabiata usually have. I am not that great meat lover, nor vegetarian, but this, let's call it ModBurger of sivispacem, damn, that thing looks enormously tasty. If he can cook, like he can debate, I would not refuse an invitation for a dinner. Now call me bootlicker, I don't care, just look at this burger! lol It is a shame but I haven't even got a proper kitchen in my tiny appartement and I constantly refuse to cook for just one person. It's kind of one of the only spicey Italian dishes you can get. And it's a crime that it has no onions _________________ For breakfast I had muesli, and fresh banana, strawberries, blueberries, with some flax+chia seeds. I normally put some daubs of 100% peanut butter (Meridian) too and I heat it all up. It's a delicious energy breakfast. Healthy and carby. That with some groud, fresh Colombian coffee-latte. Delicious, to say the least. For lunch I had some left over rice, so I fried some diced chorizo, mixed with scrambled fried egg and mixed in to the rice with the spicy sauce. Damn, it's delicious! The Time Ranger
Quote Chicken à la King is a dish consisting of diced chicken in a cream sauce, and often with sherry, mushrooms, and vegetables, served over rice, noodles, or bread. It was also often served in a vol-au-vent or patty case.[/] ust a stock image There's a restaurant i'm a regular at that serves this occasionally, it really is delicious, they serve it with rice and I get a side of chips too, it's a really delicious and hearty meal, real comfort food to warm up your belly. Only problem is they ladel it out from a pot so it's a bit of a lucky dip as to how much chicken you'll get. Last time it was more like an appetizer rather than a dinner. sivispacem
Made Korean rice bowls in the week, basically a lazy take on Bipimbap using up the leftover meat from making the burgers that had been languishing in the freezer. Seasoned sushi rice, pak choi, baby corn, tenderstem, carrot, pickled cucumber, radish and courgette with spicy Gochujiang mince, black sesame seeds, red pepper powder and nori. The herbs are Thai holy basil and coriander from the garden. The knife is a Koi Artesian santoku hand forged from 67 layers of VG10 Damascus steel. It's by far the best knife I've ever used. MarshDanni
If I saw the thread before I would take a pic before I ate today's lunch. Today I made homemade gnocchi with a sauce made from mushrooms and diced up chicken breasts. Threw in some herbs from the garden and that was about it. Easily one of my favorites dishes! Also the sauce goes nicely with pasta (especially spaghetti). Arrows to Athens

I know you said a lazy take but and it looks great but you have to get the egg on top! I can't resist a dish with cilantro. On the subject of korean food, I've bought some bulgogi sauce from the Asian market. It looks delicious but I have zero experience cooking with it. It's been there a while but I hope to find the right pork to go with it. I'm the only person that likes hot/spicy food in the household, so I've been putting off making it. Might invite a friend over and test it out on them This evening, I made some Italian style meatballs. I regret not taking photos now. Used some bread and soaked the bread in grated onion and a tiny bit of cream before mixing with the mince with just some oregano and garlic and a egg to hold them together. For the tomato sauce I used two tins and salt/pepper and some garlic and oregano and tiny bit of basil. They came out so soft and tender. 9 minutes ago, MarshDanni said: Today I made homemade gnocchi I had homemade gnocchi before from my ex's "nonna." Wow. Amazing food. Imagine being so spoiled as to have gnocchi for the first time from a 78 year old grandmother in Italy who's been making it all her life. Where I come from, gnocchi isn't such a big thing, so it was exotic for me as an 19 year old travelling abroad. I'll never forget that and having this fresh rolled pasta in fresh Genovese pesto.
