Hey guys,

A huge THANK YOU to everyone who took their time to describe the VRAM issue here in great detail. It helped me a lot when I submitted my ticket with the same problem to R* Support. And to make sure they DO fix it asap I sent them the link to this thread. Suprisingly, they acknowledged it pretty quickly, so I hope we'll get a fix in the days to come.

Can you post what they said? Hoping that it isn't just some generic response.

I don't think RTX 2060 are weak, problem is not hardware just not optimized and poorly coded game. Just take a look, some stuff should be fixed like clubber award. It's not fixed.

Example : Last RDO update. You can't play this game with weak hardware (I mean everyone have decent hardware) and the game is still buggy af. What a mess. This is very embarrassing for a game company like Rockstar Games.

You're right, time pass and we need to upgrade our setup one day.

Rockstar didn't change min/recommended game configs since 2014. We expect quality experiences. If our setup is too old, fine, change the min/recommended config then.

It was so hard for them to say they f*cked up with last RDO update so I don't expect any news soon about this issue.

I know it's not a hardware problem. But most of the people reporting this problem have low specs PC's, like 1GB of VRAM, or old processors. I'm not saying everyone.

They clearly f*cked something up. But knowing R* it will take time to fix.

They just said that they are aware of the problem and are working on it. I've received the same reply from both chatbots and real people, so I can't really tell.

They did manage to solve a similar problem with stability/server performance after the DC&R DLC pretty quickly. I just hope I've managed to bring the forums to their attention as the articles here are often waaaaay more helpful than the ones @ R* support.

If they said that they are "working on it" instead of the usual "update and reinstall everything" I think that's a very good advance.

They responded to me with generic answer trying to say that it's the problem on my end. I told them i tried everything, but they won't stop suggesting another things and methods that never fix anything in reality. That's why i ended the communication with the support and i hope they'll do something about stuttering issue.

You can't deliver the random event vehicles at times. Happens with both the Solomon collectables and the other events.

PC here

- The bug where you can't deliver business battle cargo is still there

- Maybe its because I have custom keybinds but after this update its impossible to remove custom markers from the map

- There's a bug where all the cargo from aircraft carrier spawns 2m above the ground, everyone is dead and you can't hack the laptops

Well, they specifically told me that they were working on it. Ofc they told me to verify my files at first, but I couldn't be bothered as it does nothing but waste my time, especially in this case.

All I can do is hope they solve this crap as soon as they can and pay more attention to this place. Nothing compares to these forums as far as community feedback is concerned.

3 days later. 4000 views on this topic (I assume 75% of these are people with the VRAM issue) and dozens of people on reddit/twitter.
Rockstar still silent. Support team tries to solve problem individually for each ticket, why we don't have a voting system on Rockstar Support website, where people can vote, collecting data like this might help with future updates, focus on the things players upvoted the most.

Perhaps this VRAM issue is why my partner and I have been having hell with Fleeca heist. My PC has pretty decent specs, GeForce 1060 6gb, 16gb RAM, and i7-4790. However she is using an older laptop with intel graphics. Correct me if I am wrong, this would explain why her quality of driving goes to drunken levels while all I I can do is sit back and watch the stutter. I am currently at work, but will check VRAM usage for both machines and create a ticket this evening if this is the problem.

To know if your partner has VRAM issue, you need to check your shared memory. I've made a little guide to help.

If your VRAM is correct, we don't have the same issue, probably hardware.

Someone ask for help on reddit: his specs are i7 7700HQ, GTX 1060 6Gb vram and 16Gb RAM.

Another hint everyone is affected despite good specs. When I say "good" I mean higher than recommended specs.

Someone else describe the same symptoms with this specs : AMD Radeon HD8570D 2Gb vram, AMD A8-6500 CPU, 8Gb RAM, windows 10 64bits, 500Gb HDD

Another one : Ryzen 2200U, Radeon Vega 3 1Gb VRAM, 8Gb RAM, windows 10 64bits, In-game VRAM shows 3542Mb -> not correct.

Another one : Ryzen 2500U, Radeon Vega 8 1Gb VRAM, In-game VRAM shows 3.5Gb -> not correct.

The problem is more noticeable with low GPU VRAM/RAM because we reach our system limits quicker. People with huge amount of VRAM/RAM noticed stutter between 10 and 30 min of gameplay. Also depend on your HDD/SSD/RAM. SSD is obviously quicker than HDD (not enough to compete with very cheap and low end/old RAM btw). If you asked yourself why I'm talking about hdd and ssd, check what happens when your ram is full. As far as I know CPU doesn't matter, it works fine.

This is a Rockstar support response

Spoiler

Hello!

Thank you for your reply.

Please note that we have combined your two applications that relate to the same question to avoid duplicate answers.

We noticed that you are getting the RADAR_PRE_LEAK_64 error. This is most often due to memory problems.

You can find useful information at this link: https://support.microsoft.com/ru-ru/products/windows?os=windows-10

We ask you to diagnose your computer:

-

Click Start, type mdsched.exe into the search box and press Enter.

-

You can choose if you want to restart your computer and run the utility immediately, or schedule a memory scan at the next computer start.

-

The memory test starts automatically after restarting the computer and performs a standard memory test. If you want to run fewer or more tests, press F1, then use the Up and Down keys to select the test type as: Basic, Standard or Extended. Press F10 to apply the settings and continue testing.

-

After the end of the test, the computer will restart automatically. You will be able to see the test results when you log into your account. In addition, you can check your computer in Clean boot mode. This method will help us determine if this is a problem with starting or loading the program.

This issue can be caused by a program running in the background. Please disable / turn off all unnecessary programs and try to play. If that doesn't solve your problem, perform a clean boot using the following steps:

Enter "msconfig" in the Cortana search box and then click system configuration
In the Services tab, check the "Don't show Microsoft services" checkbox (bottom left), but leave a checkmark for "* Rockstar Games Library Service" * then "disable all"
In the Startup tab of the System Configuration dialog box, click Open Task Manager.
In the Startup tab in Task Manager, for each startup item, select the item and click Disable.
Close the task manager.
On the Startup tab of the System Configuration dialog box, click OK, and then restart your computer.
If these steps did not resolve the issue, please respond to this request by attaching the new files from the following article: https://support.rockstargames.com/en/articles/200148686.

If you have additional questions, please write to us and we will be happy to help you.

Thank you for your cooperation!

Regards, Jevgenij Z. Rockstar Support

RADAR_PRE_LEAK_64 simply means the OS has detected a resource intensive process running which isnt managing its memory very well.

This proves once again that the problem is due to incorrect update.

In the end, I followed all the recommendations of the support, but they didnt work. At the request of support, I sent the files again with a detailed description. I'm waiting for another answer.

Support guy : They never tell me nothing you know...

Perfectly illustrates the situation between rockstar support and the development team

You can find this on Steam :

"Over time downloadable content and programming changes will change the system requirements for this game. Please refer to your hardware manufacturer and www.rockstargames.com/support for current compatibility information."

Maybe support guy is right...nah it's Rockstar Games...anyway, apparently rockstar knows about it and would be working on a fix.

More seriously, no one knows what is going on. This update is just f*cked up. we have dozens of reports and no one else other than this guy said you need 2gb minimum.

Its good that Rockstar admitted their fault for this problem. In ps4 also had problems updating in RDRO. They may be focusing on this product right now. In any case, its good that they are working on the problem.

If you put on a tank top / bustier under an open shirt (the ones that come with the update), your torso becomes invisible / black.
