Creed Bratton
It's a placeholder date. They know that it will be released in 2021, but since they don't know the exact date, they put the last day of the year of release. Jason
The leaks said around March-April for release I believe? It sounded like the original plan was to shadow drop or something similar to that but they needed some more time to polish up the first game, so I don't think it's too far away. Reeeeeeeally hope they do a good job with it man.

Jason
Might've been, it was earlyish next year either way unless it got pushed back again. I do reckon the first half of next year will be a good time to release though, the first half of 2021 is pretty dead likely due to the double whammy of covid's impact on development and the new console launches, if those had any real impact anywho what with crossgen games and all that becoming a thing. FanEu7
I don't trust Bioware anymore, hope they can at least deliver a solid remaster.. On 11/27/2020 at 5:41 AM, Niobium said: mass effect 1 was clunky as sh*t but it's the best game in the series, with its characters and worldbuilding mass effect 2 streamlined a lot of things and made combat a lot more fun, but the collectors were just bland villains mass effect 3 was such a mixed bag. it has both some of the most brilliant writing AND some of the most awful writing i have ever seen in the series. out of all the 3 games i am interested in, it is mass effect 1 the most. not just because it's the best game in the series, but because it will benefit the most from the upgrades due to it being the oldest. are they just going to do a simple remaster and add better graphics, or are they going to tweak the game for 2020 and make combat a lot more fluid? Honestly I think ME1 is overrated. The story and worldbuilding are good but that's about it. The characters are actually pretty generic in that game, like Garrus, Tali & Liara (the most popular characters) lack depth and are kind of lame compared to how they are later on. The gameplay sucks + the Mako is sh*t too. Some of the levels are tedious as hell like Noveria. ME2 is the best game I think, it focused on Bioware's strengths (the characters) and fleshed out the galaxy a lot more (visiting Tuchanka, quarian fleet, omega, iilium) + the final mission was beyond epic. ME3 is really great until the last mission or so in my opinion. That's when they f*cked up, it should have been even more epic than the Suicide Mission and instead it was generic and half assed. Not to mention the whole drama with "star child" at the end, wtf were they thing Either way Andromeda is by far the worst, just garbage in every way

Matrelith
I started up Steam and got the pop-up that the legendary edition can be pre-purchased now: did not expect a release date so soon! Trailer looks awesome, it's definitely something I'll be keeping an eye out for. Already have 250+ hours in each game of the trilogy, but I think I can squeeze in another playthrough. FanEu7
Time to pre-order this. It seems they improved ME1 quite a lot (it really needed that). Zello
So there is no multiplayer. I never played the ME3 multiplayer so I don't really care I hated that you needed to play it in order to get 100% war assets glad that they changed it and got rid of that. It was one of the rare exceptions where multiplayer added to a single player game was a very good thing. It was soooo good. Like seriously addictive! Creed Bratton
There's quite a bit of info in the video description. I like this part: Quote EXPERIENCE THE LEGEND OF SHEPARD: Create and customize your own character, from appearance and skills to a personalized arsenal then lead your elite recon squad across a galaxy in turmoil. New Shepard Customizations: With improved hair, makeup, eye color and skin tones you can create your Shepard in a unified character creator with all options available across the full trilogy, or choose to play as the iconic Femshep from Mass Effect 3 now available in all titles. Gameplay Enhancements for the First Mass Effect™ Game: Enjoy improved aiming and weapons balance, SFX, input/controls, squad behavior, cover behavior, and gameplay cameras. Sweet! I was hoping for some kind of discount for the owners of all three previous games, but alas, it is EA. Hopefully, unifying the controls means that we'll be able to holster weapons in ME3. That really bothered me back in the day. EDIT: So, no Pinnacle Station for ME1. Not all that important, but still a bit of a bummer. Understandable reasons, though. Edited February 2, 2021 by Yokelsson
Jason
Bit later than I was hoping, it's a boring and long few months ahead of me and I was hoping for March lol but it's nice to see that they've put some effort into this, and it's good to see that (almost) all the DLC is in and some improvements to character creator including what I understand is a universal character creator, so no need to refiddle in the creator with every game. Really really looking forward to it when it launches. The Steam price on PC in the UK is a joke compared to the US ($75...) but w/e. This is gonna be one of the best value for money buys in recent years.

Jason
I really do appreciate that they put effort into unifying things across games as well, obviously there's stuff they can't unify but the fact they've made an effort to make the jump between games as seamless as possible is a nice touch. If the port is good, and there's no real reason it shouldn't be given it's an old game with a new lick of paint running on UE3 on much more powerful hardware, this feels like another Halo: MCC or The Orange Box type of deal. So, so much value for the money, especially considering all three games are fantastic, even with ME3's flat ending and all.
trip
Too lazy to dig up the article but someone wrote up a bit saying "don't change the Mako". Now I'm torn. Keep the old unwieldy Mako and all it's charm? Or update it to something a bit easier to control and deal with? Kind of leaning towards keeping the original Mako.
