My X1X sounds like a Boeing taking off and heats up hot AF when playing RDO before the game hard freezes after a few seconds.

 

I tried playing Star Wars Jedi Fallen Order as comparison - No issues, runs quiet no crashes! Meanwhile RDO makes the X1X fan scream and the system is HOT to touch.

 

The latest X1X RDO patch  could possibly BRICK your console!

I've noticed my XB1 also seems to be working hard after the update. They have made some serious errors with this patch and I hope they can either revert to what it was before or due a new hotfix and hope for the best. At this point, between the error messages and the new issues, they should be giving players RDO $. So much time wasted on this game lately because it just does not work.

The patch turned my XBox One X into a hair dryer, my horse was blinking as if he respawned, and the gun reticule grayed out on passersby. Yep, they brok'd it.

The game was working fine for me yesterday after the update albeit in a private session but today in a public session? Completely unplayable.

 

Showdowns are still working though, if you like being one shotted by guys using terminator lock on...

Given how broken the game is, if they can't get another patch out today reverting to 1.20 is the most common sense thing to do.

It's unbelievable that they can be this incompetent and not test the game out before releasing the patch. This is basic sh*t that ANY gaming company should do. There's got to be a rogue dev who decided to get back at R* and f*ck the code up or they have truly become lazy and decided to rush this update out without a second thought.

My experience just now (PS4 Pro running from SSD, in Australia, 100/40 wired HFC internet):

 

• Selected to spawn in Camp. Spawned into empty field (TBF, this also often happened on 1.20).
• Could not select to pitch camp (said pitching was already in process).
• Only 5 people in session. 
• Could call and ride horse no problems. 
• There were no animals or NPCs in the world. Just me. 
• Rode into Blackwater, butcher was there. First living thing other than me that I saw. 
• Was able to change my hairstyle in Blackwater without any issues. 
• Was able to pick stuff up from the world (herbs, crackers, etc.) without any problems. 
• Found Sean, went up to interact with him, but ‘accept mission’ was greyed out. 
• Saw that my camp was now appearing on mini-map, rode up to icon but there was nothing there. 
• Saw a player dot on mini-map, ride up and saw player standing motionless. No name would appear above the head. Would flinch at shots, but no blood or change in crosshairs. Couldn’t be killed by dynamite. 
• Went to Moonshine shack, tried to enter. Didn’t enter, and then couldn’t run, bring up weapon wheel, or bring up the in-game menu. Walked until I hit a new area and name of area popped up on screen (Manzanita Post) and then could do everything again. 
• Fast travelled to camp. Now my camp was actually there. No Cripps though. Could get stuff out of lockbox, use wardrobe, etc. 
• Went to interact with Cripps’s table, Cripps suddenly appeared. Couldn’t donate materials or run resupply mission though. 
• Rode to Thieves Landing, deserted apart from Fence and a single NPC. Could buy stuff from Fence. 
• Put crosshairs on NPC, they greyed out preventing shooting. NPC was agro’d but his bullets and melee attacks did no damage to me. I dropped 8 sticks of dynamite at our feet, and it blew us up into the air but didn’t damage either of us. 
• Rode back to camp, Run Resupply Mission was no longer a greyed out option! I selected it and game blue screened.

Camp didn't come up even though I opted to start my session there, couldn't enter my moonshine shack so tried to change sessions and haven't been able to get back in, after 3 tries have given up for the night. This is just beyond poor now.

well I was online for "stable" 30 minutes or so, on PS4....NO wildlife...roadbloack agents could not be attacked...invisible riders...own horse failed to show up at some point.....collectibles work though so I picked up a few and got the collector's dailies checked. alongside half of the general list. oh, also, NO invites to free roam events. not more than 10 players were in session

 

edit: moonshine shack did not let me in, eventually got disconnected when I tried to join a shootout series

Was online to browse the tunables with seemingly no issue.

 

I fast travelled to Blackwater and soon discovered I couldn't summon my horse. So I decided to go to the stables and retrieve it that way.

 

After exiting the menu, the cutscene of your character and The stableman didn't end and I had to close the game as they continued to awkwardly stare at each other.

 

 

Alternatively, I think the stableman just decided to keep me. I'd imagine cleaning horse sh*t pays more than a story mission.

^yeah I just hopped onto a ghostwagon and that got me from blackwater to thieves landing. had a feeling running into the stables would break the game SOMEHOW

Mine too. It's making a tonne of noise from the fan if I play RDO.

Played Star Wars Jedi Fallen Order for like 2 hours, no issues. a min or two of RDO and it's making tonnes of noise, then hard crashes.

I refuse to touch RDO at this rate as it might brick my damn console.

 

This is the worst patch I have ever seen rolled out on any game on any console. It's made something that was playable (with bugs) completely unplayable and possibly dangerous to your hardware.

I stopped playing this game quite a while ago because of the same reasons as everyone I think Lots of Bugs completely barren lifeless and the rank system is ridiculous because you could use gold to bypass it. 

 

 After sometime I've gotten back on cause my buddy kept asking me to. My camp won't spawn. In fact nothing will when I try to start a stranger mission my game crashes and I can't find any animals. It worked okay when I joined my friends game but for whatever reason when I try to get on by myself the game just. Doesn't work. I submitted a support ticket and my response was basically "We understand your concern about the camp and we will look into it" Bla blah blah uninterested diplomatic BS. It bothered me because I mentioned the Stranger missions crashing my game and everything and this isn't MY concern, the game is broken. I can't play it and since things like bounty hunting make you a pathetic amount of money and trading is the way to go I literally can't do that because I have no camp even if everything Was working which it isn't. It means I can't play the game. It's not a concern it's a game breaking glitch lmao

 

 Hopefully putting this on the forums will bring attention to the issue if other people have the same problem and if they don't I guess I just have the worst luck of all time and it's nobody's problem and them "Looking into it" won't matter much

Started today and there was an update for me, this was a few hours ago. I assume it was the update from yesterday? 

 

Anyway, I am playing it right now. Not sure about the camp (I never go to or use it), There is a little bit of noise coming from the fan but I put this down to it being a hot day. I am monitoring it however, I am playing on an Xbox one x if hat helps. 

 

but In terms of animals and npcs...yeah, none are spawning. I did see one where I was riding into blackwater and riderless carts are spawning, but that’s it.

They probably don’t even have a clue on the current state of the game.
 

Deploy patch, all is good. Testing not needed. Turn off social media. We know what we’re doing, right?

 

They really show an immense amount of incompetence here. If anything, they should have reverted back to 1.20 half a day ago already.

I wanted to post a reply on your post, but then it got moved.

 

Read around this topic here to see how everyone is dealing with the same problems as of yesterday, when a “patch” came out.

 

But Rockstar infested the patch with a good ol’ dose of Tuberculosis they had left from SP, effectively rendering the patch into something quite lethal.

 

Now let us hope the penicillin patch arrives before it is too late...

The worst part about it all is the silence. There is no way on earth they are not aware of all the issues cause by the update. At the very least they could tell us they are working on it and give some idea of when a fix can be expected. To just go completely silent is utterly ridiculous.
