Seahawk_2018
So I just wanted to ask that like how the 3D Universe is connected to Manhunt Universe and Bully Universe. Is the HD Universe also connected to Red Dead Universe?
Jeansowaty
Not really. As much as I would love them to be connected, they aren't. Red Dead mentions real life locations.
GTA-Biker
There are some connections between GTA and Red Dead, such as Jack Marston's book appearing in GTA 5, two guns (Double Action Revolver and Navy Revolver, both based on the same models and with the same in-game names) being in both GTA Online and RDR 2, madam Nazar being referenced with the Nazar Speaks fortune telling machine, and Francis Sinclair's possible connection to the Epsilon program, but on the other hand there were no direct mentions of Red Dead locations and characters in GTA games or GTA locations in Red Dead games so far.Even if the games take place in different universes,in my opinion those universes do seem to be connected. billiejoearmstrong8
I think they're supposed to be separate. They certainly seem to be separate geographically (no GTA location names are mentioned in Red Dead or vice versa, and many GTA locations are referred to by their real names in Red Dead eg New York/Manhattan/California), and I haven't seen anything that indicates they take place in the same universe in other aspects either. They've included some nice little references with character names (eg Vincente De Santa/Michael De Santa, Manny Escuela/Javier Escuella, Aiden O'Mally/"Aiden O'Mally" aka Dutch lol) and place names (eg Strawberry) and the "Red Dead" book by J Marston on Franklin's bookshelf etc. But I don't think they amount to anything more than references/easter eggs, there's nothing concrete like actual shared locations, shared mentioned events or a GTA character being descended from a Red Dead one. universetwisters
I think it's pretty clear they're separate, like there being San Francisco cigarette cards instead of San Fierro, and even the farm chick from the 1st red dead redemption (forgot her name) mentioned Manhattan instead of Algonquin
Americana
Yeah, and that's a real shame...

I think that the crucial difference between the GTA Universe and the RD universe is that GTA is largely satirical, whereas RD and RDR is largely historically accurate. universetwisters
ThatBenGuy1998
No. At least I don’t think so. R* is crazy nowadays so who knows?
LittleJesus
- In GTA world Texas exists, in Red Dead is known as New Austin - In Red Dead world California exists, in GTA is known as San Andreas. - San Francisco & New York are mentioned in Red Dead with their real life names instead of San Fierro & Liberty City. - But... the Epsilons somehow make an appearance in the Red Dead world just like Jack Marstons book in GTA... Weird thing is,in RDR 2 a news article mentions that Lemoyne Raiders gang is moving to Texas despite New Austin being based on Texas, and in GTA 3 there's a billboard mentioning Miami despite Vice City being a GTA universe equivalent of Miami since GTA 1.Because of those inconsistencies,as well as some of the references between the two games (Jack's book, Nazar Speaks, Double Action Revolver and Navy Revolver, Epsilon program, etc.),I don't know if that theory about the universes being separate just because of real life locations being mentioned is a firm evidence. In my opinion, they may be set in the same universe or may be set in different universes that share a few connections, but we can't tell for sure until R* themselves confirm which is it.
