Legendary Animals in Solo Lobby (lvl 20 Naturalist)

Today I spent 6hrs in a solo lobby. I wasn’t off looking for legendary animals, I was doing deliveries, stranger missions, random encounters. Just basically enjoying the game NOT caring about legendary animals. I thought they were impossible to spawn past level 15. (I’m max level 20 by the way)

 

Anyway... while doing this and that, I came across the legendary bison by Emerald Ranch. I thought “lucky spawn”. Then I ran into the legendary elk between Armadillo and Fort Mercer. Next was the legendary boar north of MacFarlane ranch (along the river). Then the legendary cougar east of Gaptooth Breach.

 

I’m a level 20 Naturalist who thought legendary animals would never spawn for me because according to everyone they are broken after level 15, so I stopped pursuing them. I can now confirm they do spawn, but the difference this time is I wasn’t looking for them, and secondly I was in a solo lobby.

 

I don’t know if it helped that I was doing other activities as well, but I just bagged a bunch in a single session.

Can confirm.

 

Basically, the whole random event system is broken in this game. I noticed I could only get Moonshiners and Poachers events on a regular basis with a full lobby.

To me it feels like if the LA doesn't spawn on the first try there's no point in riding around the different spawn points or leaving the area and coming back if all the spawn points are near each other.

If it doesn't spawn first try I find it best to come back a while later.

How can the game knows if i'm looking for them or not ?

Yes that's probably true,  i found and sampled all of them and even if i was hard trying to find them, i still found 3-4 of them totally by chance, and for the big majority, they spawned direclty when i arrived in the area
