PS5 Character Transfer ???

Sorry if this as been asked couldn't see anything on the page anyway i'm day one player rank well over 800 don't fancy having to start over again

 

I remember PS3 getting character transfer locked as people were glitching money over is this still the case? and if so do you think will have to start over again?

They aren't giving you a million a month to celebrate moving to ps5 without letting you move to ps5. If there was no transfer then everyone would just play the ps4 version on the ps5

That's not going to work though when PS5, PC and Xbox X versions of GTA Online are different to those on PS4 and XboxOne, due to the former three continuing to receive GTA Online updates, but with the latter two (eventually) stopping. Unless Rockstar meant something lame by saying "exclusive content" for those systems - but a 64 player lobby thing as hinted at with the PS5 version likely aint gonna' be happening on PS4. 

 

I would suggest there's going to be some sort of transfer system happening - whether that means anything and everything about our account will go over, I don't know.

Does anyone care about updates at this point?, they haven't added anything positive to the game in years anyway. Ps5 will be just the same on both versions with raytracing on the native one. It wont be a huge deal

How could it even be the same when one supports 64 players and one supports 32 . Players on PS5 GTA Online aren't going to be able to play with PS4 GTA Online players with that architecture. 
Well I guess time will tell. 

I'll ignore the other part because there's thousands if not millions of people who care about updates, and the Diamond Casino Heist is one of the best money makers around, but I guess that's a negative... /s

It can support 500 players if the say so but without dedicated servers it'll only work properly with 10 players just like it does now. They have _a lot_ of work to do if they ever want to make this a first rate multiplayer game. Maybe thats the plan with the stand alone version but I'll believe it when I see it.

We will be able to transfer our PS4 characters to PS5 for sure.

PS3 to PS5, I guess this won´t be possible.

Character transfers from old gen to current gen where never advertised as a permanent, I think the first official article about the transfers said the feature would be time limited.

 

I'm sure that the rampant cheating and modding on last gen played it's part in R* deciding to not make the feature permanent though.

 

And there's no modding on current gen besides PC, the cheating that goes on here is purely related to glitches and bug exploits and usually most of the stuff is harmless, with the exception of God mode glitches and infinite orbital canon shots, but besides that the game is pretty much peaceful in this regard on current gen consoles.

I'm not even thinking about buying the game again on next gen because I already know I will miss the time window where the game will be free, and I absolutely am not inclined to play Singleplayer on next gen again because I did not liked the story and the majority of its characters at all, including the protagonists.

 

If I eventually buy this game on next gen, it will only be if I can get to keep my character, its progress and all of it's properties, if not then I won't bother.
