NEW LEGENDARY ANIMALS: THE TECA AND SUN GATORS (August 4th)

I have long considered the Bayou my favourite location in the game but hunting for these gators has made me hate it so much lol. Booted off my horse one too many times.

 

Also, the sheer volume of people sat in the Bayou session swapping in the hopes of finding one of the gators is causing some session stability issues I think.

I have noticed our horses are more scared now, making this even more annoying.

So I’ve been trying like a mad man looking for the teca gator All week with no luck. I’ve tried everything from staying in the area the whole time to waiting in others for right weather. The only think I can think of that screwing me over is when there’s a player camp in the area. Can I please get some advice. I really want the coat badly and it’s driving nuts it hasn’t spawned for me yet. I’m at rank 18 atm in the Nat role.

I got the sun gator twice, I wish I would have killed one for Gus.  Damnit.

free roam = 1 legendary animal

solo lobby = 8

only need the sun gator for complete the current collection

Don't stay in the area, leave and return.

But most importantly, don't play in public lobbies, lol.

I finally got one of them, the sun gator using the solo lobby character change trick.  The thing spawned in the middle of a clear day.  LA are definitely bugged.

Last night I ran into the legendary wolf above my shine shack while digging for the coin above the stone 'New Hanover' sign by the side of the road.;

 

f*cker killed  me when he dragged me off the rock I was standing on to keep his buddies at bay. (important to note that bold part, normal predators won't do that!!!)

They'll bugger off when you put 4 or 5 tranq rounds into them, then the boss wolf trotted down into the copse just northeast of Emerald Stn. as I waited for him to drop.

I revived him, and he came after me a little later as I was still in the area so I had to knife him to death.

Oh man, this Gator hunting is a PITA... ALWAYS folks around the spawnareas..... Always... So today I was around and boom I saw the golden pawn symbol... Immediately rushed over, but saw another player going after it as well.. He was there first...

 

I noticed he was shooting, so I decided to help him out... Fired a few more rounds in it and killed it.. Then we were in that shady area, on what to do next... I stayed on my horse and started giving him cover.... 

As usual his horse had ran off and he had to run over, while whistling like a mad man... I covered him as good and bad as I could, as my horse bucked me off again... Had to kill off two more gators, but he got on his horse and was on his merry way... That felt good, I have to admit.

 

But I had no more luck having one spawn in anymore... And the area is flooded with players, so even if spawn-luck is on your side, you can bet your a.. off you're not alone at going after it... It's a major pain.... 

I wanted the gator-hat, but seeing how it's all playing out, I'm thinking of calling it a week... It's just a major pain. What were they thinking with this...

 

Can anyone explain me the solo lobby method with the character change (so starting that up and backing out with nothing to pay and you spawn back in a solo lobby?) I tried the resupply mission method at the butcher's table, but that was ten mins down the drain... I'm on PC btw...

 

This is not possible in a populated session... Not this week, unless you're masochistic... And after this week, I see no use for it (rewards off the table)...

Yes and this is a PSA to anyone that cares about this. THESE ARE NOT LIMITED TIME ITEMS! The items you get are available for purchase unlike previous limited event items that were only unlocked by doing certain tasks.

 

So take your time and don't stress about the alligators as its a huge waste of time when I could have just bought them.

 

So to reiterate no special "limited" colorway/skin of the Corchado Poncho, O’Quinn Hat, or Helsby Gloves. It just unlocks an existing color for free from the store. I checked by going to the catalogue. So the newswire lied about it being a "unique colorway".

...was just going to post to ask if anyone could confirm this, because someone over on Reddit just posted similar - and if you compare the "exclusive" Corchado Poncho to one of the regular store-bought colours, it sure does look the case, doesn't it?

 

 

 

 

 

 

 

Well, at least that means no-one suffering from network errors is going to miss out on those - although I'm pretty sure that the stuff going away on the 24th (like the Gila Monster camp flag) is exclusive to that limited-time offer, and can't be obtained through regular means.

Well I just went from only caring if I spawned the Sun Gator to not giving a single f*ck about any Legendary Animal.

Ok, so no stress then... It's nothing special... I just wanted that croc hat, but then again it's a poncho you win... My girl doesn't wear that stuff... But the disconnects is bad today.. GTA disconnected twice, once in a sale.. and now same in RDR online...

The question mark for the gator showed up for me but I was on a mission and ignored it.

Only seen one LA that was a Ram of some sort down near Nazar is in the far south west saw a notification one was near climbed up high onto a ridge and it rammed off the edge LOL i died ans it got away

"We have done what no other game developer has ever done before in history. We just released the most massive update than no one could ever think of, and we just did it. We have it in total control. Bugs will disappear magically. if you test less, you'll not have that many cases".
