Flash Mob

Has anyone else seen a random flash mob anywhere in the game? I was driving down by the strip club and at least 75-100 pedestrians were screaming and running across the street. I admit I saw this early on while playing online.. so I thought it was normal and didn't think to capture it. Only after I tried searching for this and coming up empty handed did I realize it's not. Anyone have any insight to this? Thanks!

Im not sure if game can render so much at the same time. But that's probably a modder.

It can render that many pedestrians NPC's if the lobbies in a glitched state or random things happen.

 

Most likely someone was doing a glitch or there was a modder in the session who started off a chain reaction.

Theres also a fair chance you're overstating and it was more like ~20 pedestrians, thats actually possible without any cheater in the session, when they added nightclubs they also added npc's lining up outside the nightclubs (and like 10 non-nightclub buildings too) and those npc's will run when theres fighting going on nearby, add some random pedestrians that were walking nearby and something like 25-30 running npc's should be possible

This has happened to me once before on PS4. Managed to get a picture of it here but i didn't get all the pedestrians in the shot, there were more behind me. Never happened since.

I see thing like that often with cars. On some spot suddenly NPC cars duplicate, usually forming huge pile. IMHO it's problem of synchronization between players with over poor network. I guess pedestrian NPCs should be vulnerable to the same glitch, though I have never seen that.

Never saw it happen with NPCs, but I've had it happen with vehicles. They're not dropping out of the sky or anything weird, just a bunch showing up in an unlikely place.

 

I was trying to score one with no drink cups or e cola cans, lol. PS4, invite only session.

I was not overstating. It took up the whole road. I'd say it was probably like what emptyplayer had, except everyone was screaming and running in the street. Wish I'd captured it.

That's cool and creepy; I will follow them all across the map until they disbanded.

I wish things like that happened more often, most AI pedestrian behaviour is too clean and 'polite' between them. We even subliminally get used to they behaviour patterns.

Random WTF moments that catch you off guard will make the city more alive:

A random driver stops a little late and hits a car, the two drivers got heated, one of them is armed, bam! Police arrives, but that street is the turf of the Ballas, and a couple minutes later you see helicopters...

I remember having much fun with a friend while the invisible bicycles garage bug was a thing. I think it was something to do with storing a street bike over an owned bicycle in a 2 car garage, and it glitched your friend to Eclipse (they only saw a partially loaded view of their 2-car garage exterior), and triggered enormous spawns of vehicles and pedestrians.

I always thought it was hilarious when the vehicles spawned on the freeway when you're driving too fast on a bike in San Andreas. Not so funny mid-mission... but funny.
