Flickering revealing desktop while playing after latest update

Don't worry, you're not alone.  (Unfortunately!)  There are a few others reporting the same issue here, myself included.  I submitted a support ticket and have gotten the usual generic responses but you gotta start somewhere. I suggest opening a ticket with R* so they know it's not an isolated incident, hopefully get us a fix asap.

If you're running Vulkan, try switching to DX12.  While it doesn't resolve the issue completely, the screen briefly flickers to black instead of to the desktop.  Not a great solution, but it at least makes the game somewhat more playable.  R* is still communicating on my original ticket.  I'd recommend opening one yourself, if you haven't already, but thought I'd pass the DX12 idea along until there's an actual fix.  Hope it helps

Got the game last week and this is happening to me. Tried the various fixes around online and the only one that worked was disabling your internet connection. This works for me but obviously can't play online this way.
