Jason
I like the update, I genuinely do. However I don't think there's enough rewards and I suspect a lot of will be dripfed. The trapper needs way more new clothes and whatnot in there. It'd also have been nice to tie this role into the camp somehow to give that more use here and open up more hunting ground locations but instead people are hunting around Gus/Harriet locations (Big Valley being a big one) instead. Assblaster
Huge flop if you ask me. It's like the collector role but with a ton more work with less reward, so it seems to me (I haven't spent the gold on it and won't). The only thing that seems worthwhile is the wilderness camp but you shouldn't have to shell out 25 gold and a ton of grind just to get that. I spent the past few months away from the game, played a bunch of other games instead. I have to say, it's pretty refreshing to return to the game after being so long away. The game is really fun for me again. But this update is a no go. I'll just go on with my moonshining, hunting and fishing, with an occasional bounty or two for the hell of it. I won't be a park ranger and definitely won't go days without hunting. DentureDynamite, Stupidis, Rev. Gnash and 3 others

Officer Friendly
Could someone explain how the buck trinket works? I won't be a park ranger and definitely won't go days without hunting. I was disappointed by the role at first, but after spending more time with it I've come to enjoy it. I'd get it, especially for the hunting aspect. There's a Buck Antler Trinket with "Player has a higher chance of receiving better quality pelts and skins from animals in prefect condition." At Rank 5 you can do Legendary Hunt Missions. Killing the Legendary Animal gives you it's Legendary Materials which can be donated to Cripps for far more than the normal amounts. Legendary Materials have no condition, so the Elephant Rifle is great to quickly take them down. Harriet will eventually get upset, but that only locks you out for a few minutes. I alternate between hunting to piss her off, then Sample Collection while she "cools down." Then turn in a Sample Set for more money and XP. The Farmland Animal set is fairly easy and provides $60 and 1,000 XP for turning in a full set of Stamps. The Role is significantly less grindy if you focus on complete Stamp sets for the large XP bonus instead of attempting to grind smaller amounts of XP by repeatedly turning in the same Samples. To me, also no. Though I'm still sort of confused on how things work (we definitely needed more of an explanation), I'm really enjoying the role so far. Tracking animals, photographing them (why can't we delete multiple photos at once), and studying them gives the wildlife a new purpose. I've seen some pretty cool animal animations that I've never seen before, like a rattlesnake with it's head raised just before an attack. I love that we can craft clothes from pelts and I hope we get some great options in the dripfeed. I like that this role isn't something I can level up in a few days. It will take time and that's okay with me, it gives me something to do. I've only done 2 Legendary Hunts but frol what I've seen I like them because they can be challenging. It's much more than just point, shoot, kill. Also from what I have seen of the Halloween stuff, I really like it. Could this update have been done better? Absolutely. But I myself wouldn't say it's a flop. I just wish we had gotten at least 2 roles so that people who don't like this role have something else to work through RonDutch, Rev. Zapper
This role is good but not good enough to warrant 7 months of content drought. Another compat focused role paired with this would bang. I gave it time in case the pandemic had an effect, but I've waited long enough now. I tried it all and keep getting bad luck, and after this long, they clearly aren't unlocking those lobbies. Fair enough, but I can't enjoy the game like it is, bit of a shame as the atmosphere and era is right up my street. The content itself isn't too bad, but having done all those compendium things in story mode 4 times, I was hoping for something more that wasn't just reskinned story mode content with this 'massive' DLC and combined with the mess from other players out there, I've just had enough of waiting for it to get good and pretty much given up on it. Plenty of room for outlaw stuff alongside the more passive content, they should add 2 roles per DLC, one like this and one to keep the bandit players busy so this can be enjoyed without the action junkies looking to mess with my game. Plenty of room for lobby choices and job hosting abilities too in my opinion, the game could be so much more but R* need to do this cheap for T2 after all. I might pop back once all the noobs and griefers get bored, and I dare say I'll have a glance at the Halloween stuff too, but we'll see. RyuNova
So, can someone explain it to me. If you kill it and take the skin to Gus you can sell it and turn it into a clothing item. Sedating it, sampling it, and reviving it will gain you a little xp (revive only) and you can sell the sample to Harriet and it goes toward your sample collection You can play both sides (Harriet is the only one that gives you xp) but if you kill too many animals Harriet gets pissed and drugs you Edited July 29, 2020 by RaigeGames

VBR Laudan I know, but something is wrong, it makes no sense. I spent the 500 on the pamplet because I have plenty of cash but not so much that I will be buying CVR for $10 just to make 1 round. It should be 1 CVR is enough to craft 100 rounds, or the price of the CVR should be 0.10 cents, not $10 dollars.

My trouble is, though I'm not having enough fun with this game right now, it really is one I want to be enjoying more. Just can't force it or it becomes so much less so, but I'm gonna enjoy a break from the game, I'll probably always hope for the best. What saves the legendary ones is only the fact that he can make things for you to buy with them. Until you supply the pelts/skins he can't make them. In other words it just registers legendary pelts supplied. No point in keeping track of the others, in that sense he's just another butcher. Those pelts are better off in Cripps' hands.
