A Few General GTAO Questions

Okay, I'm not sure where these would go, so apologies if this is the wrong place. I have been playing GTAO for coming up on 2 months now, and am progressing quite nicely with building my criminal empire. Anyway, I have all the businesses, every one fully upgraded (not for cosmetics, only functionally and for making more money), a hanger, Arcade (all functional upgrades) the Casino Penthouse (bare-bones), a facility, some cars, the Oppressor MK II, MOC with the upgrades to mod weapons and Vehicles and I think the Command Center. I have grinded out about $28 Million, which I have on hand, basically saving for a lol $40 Million shopping list. That includes everything from the Avenger, Stronberg, Thrusters, Deluxo, Hydra, Ruiner 2000, and on and on. (Just giving you some background). 2 of the items are on sale, so even if I don't reach my $40 Million goal, I will need to buy the Ruiner 2000 and the original Oppressor before Thursday. But the rest of the stuff I will try and wait for sales, and see what sales Twitch and Rockstar offer this coming Thursday.

 

So now to my questions:

 

1. Is there any way to pick which weapon in a slot is my default weapon for that slot? For instance, I when I toggle to the Uzi slot, I would like to have the Combat MG be the first gun that comes up.

 

2. Is there any point in the Arena Workshop? If so, what upgrades, if any, are good to have?

 

3. In my Bunker, there is a "Research" tab, and my research bar somehow is about 25% full. It asks me if I want to pay, I think its about $218K (if I remember correctly) to rush research, whatever that means. Should I pay it?

 

4. Any point in doing all the MKII upgrades on weapons in my MOC?

Hi ChiroVette it's me again.

 

1. I recommend getting the gun locker so you can store certain guns in the Combat MG slot on the weapon wheel. Since the Micro SMG is the default slot, I recommend storing that in the gun locker and any other guns besides the Combat MG. I'll show you what I mean when we play together later on. For drive by enemies, I recommend using the AP Pistol so when in a car press square to switch weapons until you've selected the AP Pistol.

 

2. Arena Workshop is not practical for grinding, it's mainly for the Arena War matches which aren't worth doing because the payout is trash and having the Arena War upgrades is NOT worth it because the Arena War vehicles and upgrades are ABSURDLY EXPENSIVE. Having the Arena War is mainly for having an extra garage space for vehicles and it's more of a luxury type item.

 

3. Don't rush them because some of them are just paint jobs. Your better off assigning your workers to manufacturing and research than to waste unnecessary money on pointless research although some of them are pretty good such as explosive rounds on the Heavy Sniper MK-II which are great for jet griefers, missiles for the original Oppressor, thermal scope on the Heavy Sniper MK-II. 

 

4. I recommend getting those weapons below and also add attachments on them.

  • Heavy Revolver MK-II.
  • Combat MG MK-II.
  • Bullpup rifle MK-II. 
  • Special Carbine MK-II. (Put a suppressor on that gun).
  • Marksman rifle MK-II.
  • Heavy Sniper MK-II

I'll show you what to do later today if your available.

Additions to the above:

1. I recently learned trough these forums that your SP character load-out controls your Online character load-out

 

2. Like mentioned arena workshop has no real added value, it does have 2 small things besides the garages going for it tho, its the only place where you can buy colored headlights, and modify and RC car

 

3. These are for unlocking better weapons (some for you, some for your vehicles) etc, start grinding away at that stuff.

4. Opinions greatly vary on this, but like mentioned you should at the least get a Heavy Sniper Mk2 with a thermal scope, and research the explosive ammo for it for when you have to deal with jet griefers.
