Is it just me or anybody else thinks the character creator tool is different from PC vs Console?

When I follow the guide to create the so called beautiful female characters it comes out looking nothing like what the youtube video has those seem to be PS4 users making guides for RDRO

 

I wonder if the creator tool is different to consoles or if it's the lighting that's making my character face look like rubbish

You also need to take into account your characters "Core" levels, their walking style and if they are looking at the sun. Even when blocked, if your character is facing the sun they will squint.

Are you making sure to get all of the skin details close to exact? Even one change in the character's skin color or a lack of a certain blemish can definitely change the face.

 

Also the models may be different meshes between the computers on all versions, I know some who have remade their characters in both consoles and although they are nearly identical there is a just slight difference between them.

There's a notable difference between the creator (left) and in-game (right)--this is on the PC:

Bear in mind that the preset faces were tweaked for the final release version of the game (May 23rd last year) from the beta versions - and then in a subsequent patch, R* rolled out those updates to all characters (which meant that if your character was created during the beta period, you might find their overall face shape changed to a greater or lesser degree).

 

So it might be because a lot of the early guides on character creation are from late 2018, and so all those face presets are now out of date. Kat Chartreux is probably the best example of a prolific character creator who actually covered the updated settings/presets, and even updated the recipes they came up with during the beta to incorporate the changes.

 

But yeah, in general, if the character creation video is from before May 23rd 2019, then it's most likely no good to you, because it'll still show the old beta facial options, not the current ones.
