I agree with all of you; "location" could mean absolutely anything, including another hole in the ground or a previously unused building, and because the Newswire focuses on RDR2 as its first priority, it suggests Rockstar are not entirely sure themselves (yet). If Rockstar had a new map expansion, would it really be placed after a RDR2 blurb like "... featuring a new Frontier Pursuit that will introduce players to the secrets of naturalism as part of an all-new Role, plus a new Outlaw Pass..."?

 

I still think it's Anaheim and Orange county because OC for the most part is a lot more of this.

That wouldn't be that hard for Rockstar imo as we all know they've been a bit lazy these days. Just use what you have in the existing map copy and paste maybe add a couple different colors to some of the new buildings lol. 

 

All they'd need to really put effort into is the Disneyland parody.

If a whole new location is to come as in a map expansion, no way they'll release it on current gen consoles. Rockstar would want to showcase that on ps5/xbsx to help persuade you further into upgrading and acquiring the new enhanced and expanded gta online/gta v title.

 

The new gta online/gta v is suppose to release in 2021 for the new consoles. This update is for the end of the year 2020.

Unfortunately I just expect Rockstar to let us down these days. Just like when they say a game is coming in the Autumn/Fall, it's never the start of the season, it's always right at the end haha. Can't see this being anything more than a building that you can't access outside of a mission. Happy to be proved wrong.

They really should, I don't think flying back and forth between cities will be a good idea, no flow to that. PLUS the map is trash, and was/is in need of a redesign/addon when it released, it's way too cramped and small for LA, so I hope they expand LS instead of giving us a new city. If they do do a new city, atleast allow us to take a road trip, I don't want to fly. LV actually makes the most sense to me, also considering the amount of LV references in the casino DLC. They could expand on the Chengs and their operations over there.

That brand new location can be literally anything knowing Rockstar. A piece of whole new island, maybe teasing new GTA. Or just a finished skyscraper in the middle of the city, just like they did with casino. Or just North Yankton.

I personally think (and hope) it's the Rockford Plaza. The sneak peak of the new car covers it perfectly in the background and it would make sense to rob it. Also, Vincent now works there as security chief, maybe he get's f!cked again by his employers

1. It's a pre-tease announcement. R* knows how to do marketing, they're not going to blow the money shot as a tag on a blog post about RDO.

 

2. Again, jesus, they spend hundreds of thousands of dollars on city "vibe" research and study alone - worth an investment for next gen GTAO "World" or GTA 6, not current gen. No SF, No Venturas, No literally new location, sorry you're huffing paint with that speculation.

So there's your shark card boost, making the remaster worth the monetary investment.

     3.B - North Yankton. This would make sense as a singular instanced location for just heists, like the Doomsday Heist, it's a "new" location, but only shared for heists. I find this to make some sense, but don't see how it would be the "biggest". Little need for shark cards for Small Town USA location. Then again, R*.

     3.C - Previously Cut Content. This is a A+B answer but more speculative. Rockstar may have had initial plans for say a Knots Berry Farm/Disney Land, Catalina Islands, area so they could have "new locations" they did the ground work on as added islands. Alternately, per the casino heist, they could add a finished sky scraper(s) with new heist mechanics. This seems the most logical route - they've proven to be able to do this (although it's not my personal preference) and in past interviews concerning the Casino heist have stated they could now do this for future updates.

4. But I love GTA San Andreas - Cool me too, great for its time, but those game assets would look dumpy, too small, and poorly designed in comparison to whatever development they're doing for GTA 6. It's like you never got over your high school girlfriend. It's over, man. Move on. 

TL:Too Dumb To Read: 3.C is the most logical location. 

 

Again, get over it with past iterations from GTA:SA/Vice City. Too small/shoddy in comparison/$$$ to recapture city for current gen.

But that's wrong wording. You don't say "new location" when you are revamping a pre-existing location. They never said that for the casino DLC, they just dropped the re-vamp on us because it wasn't that big of a deal. If you have to actually mention it then it's significant. Liberty City, be it re-vamped, is a new location because as far as the GTA Online universe is concerned, that location doesn't exist as an actual location. North Yankton isn't a new location either. Anything that is on the map already is not a new location.

 

I would expect a new geographical location, be it a nearby island or whatever, not a modification of the existing map otherwise they would say "re-vamped" or "refreshed" or "re-modernized" or other gimmicky words that they have in fact used in the past to refer specifically to re-doing something that already exists.

I wish if they make Amanda, Lamar, and Ron to be new playable characters (it will be total of 6 playable characters including Michael, Franklin, and Trevor), and also make Franklin to be able to play tennis for GTA V singleplayer DLC.

 

It should require the player to complete the game at 100% to unlock Amanda, Lamar, and Ron as new playable protagonists.

I dont see a map expansion, they'll save that for next April or May & make it exclusive to new consoles. That said, as we're at about 8 months since we've had an update, R* is aware how restless the community is. Particularly Xbox players, who aren't getting a big chunk of money just for hanging around. I expect to see a number of small q.o.l. enhancements and maybe one or two big things. They always overpromise and underdeliver. Just can't see a full-on map expansion now. I never make guarantees but does anyone think it's really more than 60% likely?

Because there was no point, there are ways to counter the Mk2 and all the other weaponized vehicles in the game. 

 

Quit complaining and play something else if you're only going to harp endlessly on needless things.

If the summer update has no central theme, it certainly better have a fat package of new cars, clothing, weapons (sigh.. not optimistic), and beach houses or some new property with car storage. Fun's warning to manage our expectations and not get our hopes up killed any hype I had TBH..
