That's a new panther right? Don't remember how the two from the encyclopedia looked like exactly that's why I'm asking. This one looks like a jaguar (or is it a leopard? the size of the tail and the head confuses me).

It looks like the legendary Jaguar from RDR1 (if only we were getting Nuevo Paraiso too).

 

The confusing head and tail size are because R* appear to have (lazily) reskinned the Panther that is already in RDR2 instead of making a new model.

Leopards are only in Africa so it's definitely a jaguar, I'm guessing the legendary animals in Online will just have a different skin to the "normal" animals since this one is a lot more colourful with defined spots when compared to the existing panthers.

Oh okay, so panthers we already have were loosely based on jaguars and this one is the same but with a new skin (or fur). So you're probably right, might be a legendary animal like Giaguaro, and it does look like Khan from RDR!

I don't think we're getting musical instruments, I think they were just referring to the ones added in the Moonshiners update. That's the way I read it anyway.

Yeah I knew about that for the leopards, though I was imagining something like animals that could've fled a circus wagon, just like the lion in the story mode, but yeh jaguars make more sense

This. I think people were misreading the Newswire post (including myself), but only on that one point about the instruments. It would be nice to see more, but I don't think we are actually getting any in this update.

I hope there is a stand alone RDO version on next gen too. I've completed RDR2 4 times on PS4 and once on PC, I've already got better visuals on PC than the PS5 will offer, so if I can just buy RDO on PS5 that's great. The byproduct of such a thing killing the RDO is free argument would just be icing on the cake.

You should check out the old "griefing" threads in the GTAO section, most of them only got to the 10-15 page mark before getting locked, some of them because of arguments over this very issue.

 

R* putting a price on GTAO and ending the "oNLiNe Is FrEE" argument will be a sweet moment.

Yea, I think it was one of R*'s backhanded "you're welcomes".  That said, I would love to have an acoustic guitar option to purchase for camps that one can play some of Woody Jackson/Javier's awesome songs on. Hell, put it in the outlaw pass.

Yeah I agree. I'd love to see an expansion of what was possible in the moonshine bar when you invited your friends over, but sitting around a campfire with an acoustic guitar singing songs (even though our online characters don't speak, so that probably won't happen) but you get the picture.

The camp is just severely underdeveloped in general, I love RD/RDO but the game continues to feel like beta in many aspects.

Let's put this way, i like Rockstar, i hate some of the things they do, just not enough to complain everytime i have the chance, i've seen em be this way since 98 i don't think they give two sh*ts about some randoms like us on a fanforum, so why bother. Just my opinion.

To be fair, most here love R* too. Just we know they can do better as we've seen plenty of good stuff from them this last couple of decades, most complaints come from that I feel. Their online games do have so much potential.

 

Though I do agree they probably don't care too much about the odd forum grumbles, but then again, it is speculation that the recent clown thing from RDRO could have seen R* react or even possible that R* are rushing this coming DLC to appease the bad press. But such is R* and their marketing, we'll probably never know, lol.

I'm not sure that the clowns would have triggered any action from R* alone, but when the gaming media started covering it, that wasn't a good look. 

 

7 months of silence ending a week after the articles seems to be a big coincidence.

But if it does prove to be a turning point (which given the early GTA news on future content too, seems it could be), I will be far more positive and give praise where it's due. This coming RDRO DLC doesn't sound electrifying, but if it has got plenty of those little bits along with the role itself that improve things all around, I'd be glad to visit the gasp and praise thread.

The whole R* is above criticism schtick and the response that anyone who dares voice said criticism is a whining hater is beyond me.

 

If "we" didn't love the games and R* we wouldn't care enough to complain. You'll never see me on an EA forum b*tching about the state of microtransactions in the FIFA franchise, because I don't give enough of a f*ck to bother, I just stopped buying the games.

You could and can make that point, but complaining about the complaining of others is often even more futile than the original complaints.

 

At least sometimes complaining about an actual issue achieves results, complaining about someone else's perceived negative opinion achieves nothing.
