Red Dead Online Updates Coming Soon (July 28th)

With both games playing home to more players than ever before in recent months, we know the community has been awaiting news of any updates for GTA Online and Red Dead Online and we are happy to share that both games will receive exciting new updates in the weeks ahead.

 

For Red Dead Online, players can expect a massive new update to arrive Tuesday, July 28th featuring a new Frontier Pursuit that will introduce players to the secrets of naturalism as part of an all-new Role, plus a new Outlaw Pass, tons of community-requested features and fixes, and much more to play and discover in the months to come.

 

A summer update to GTA Online is also on the way, offering up a fun mix of diverse new content from the game’s massive array of experiences to enjoy.

 

 

 

Later this year players can expect more big updates for both games, including some exciting new extensions and augmentations to an existing role in Red Dead Online, and the biggest ever update for GTA Online, featuring our latest take on Heists in an entirely new location.

Thanks to your submissions via our official feedback channels, we have added a number of highly requested features across recent updates – including musical instruments in Red Dead Online, the ability to run all businesses via the Master Control Terminal in GTA Online and more. I actually think it will be more than one, I think they only mentioned naturalist as a teaser, I could obviously be wrong.

Looking forward to the new Outlaw pass the most I think. I'm always a bit cautious of new roles as they generally cause more problems but the Outlaw pass is pretty hard to f**k up, even for R*

The patch notes better read like a Dickens novel if there's only one role.

Maybe they are gonna drip feed the roles, like one a month and release each one as it’s own “separate” update. We will know for sure on tuesday when Tez can datamine the files.

Listen, it's an update. That's really good and much needed and very welcome.

 

Seven months for one new role. That's not so good. Even more troubling is the update after this one also sounds like it's one role. I hope the role is only part of a lot of new stuff in the update because if we've gone from Frontier Pursuits which added three new roles to every update just adding one it's not inspiring confidence about RDO's long term future. RDO really, really needs something meaty to really reignite the game, one Role after seven months of nothing is is some decent kindling but it's not the spark.

So is this the expansion of Collector Role? I really hope it isn't just one role after this long of a wait. But even if it is just a one role it better have lots of cool and exciting unlocks, and the content will at least last longer than a week.

One role, but overall, I reckon we're gonna see tons of new content. Clothing, guns, horsies, etc. I don't think they'd use 'massive' loosely. Tons of new features we've requested, gotta be worthwhile!

I don't expect them to add it at all but if there was a time to add private lobbies it would be when they added this role. The last thing they need is animal spawns sh*tting the bed again if this is all set in the open world and not instanced.
