KingHadu
Thinking of getting this game does the ultimate come with clothing for females for online? is the ultimate edition really worth it over standard? Also how does RDRO compare to GTAO? can you do the same stuff import / export, sell drugs etc? I heard it has a problem where there is nothing to spend the money on? Lonely-Martin
For RDR2, absolutely. A masterpiece. For RDRO, hmmm. Best I don't go sounding off, lol. I'll just say I'm glad story mode was a genuine masterpiece.
KingHadu
eeh, I mainly buy for Online tho.... Cause you can custom create your own playable female characters in Online and the thing about online is it never seems to end and you can play with people I just don't know what is going on with it and what will happen in the long run

Being a new player I think it is something you would enjoy, it's not as fast paced as GTA, and for the most part the other players are a lot less aggressive. The character creation has become better from what it was before and it is always so much fun being able to play with friends. Keep in mind that you will have to deal with many different bugs, some of them can make your game unplayable or hinder your progress somewhat. As long as you don't rush through the roles it can give you a lot to do for sometime, just keep going at it a slower pace and all should be fine. There's a lot of speculation about as far as where online is heading, but nobody has an inkling what plans R* has for the online and I have a very slight hope that they are going to update with more things to do. But I can honestly say that I have my doubts. If you are willing to spend the extra I would go with the Ultimate Edition, but I will be adamant in saying that if you are buying for the online only I wouldn't pay full price. Online just isn't worth much at the moment with the lack of content and the buggy problems. I say if it's a decent price go for it.

But knowing what I know now, I'd wait before buying it purely for online to be fully honest. This game just doesn't have that spark for me and how I'd like it to be, but it could for you/others of course. Don't get me wrong, the game has so much potential it's unreal, but it also has its faults too. It really depends what you want to do, as, if you just want a new world to wander, this is an awesome map for that without doubt. And if you like the repetitive businesses, this game has started where GTA got to with those, although the collector role and a healthy daily objective streak make money and gold a breeze, almost too easy TBH. If you like silly top trumps based PvP though, this game has that, lol. It has these dumb ability cards for all that and more. I hate 'em, but some get on with them. The game is just a bit flat and needs fleshing out with good content and much more freedom and choice like lobby choices, job hosting abilities, and being able to buy things we like without having to commit to 'the grind' on roles and reach certain ranks in those. It still feels like it's at beginner stage really. I tried not to be too hard on the game, it is clear some really enjoy their game of it out there, but I need more to really get going and as it's been nearly 2 years, bit bored of waiting for it to git gud, lol. Jimmy
If you're getting it for a good price on Epic Games, go for it. It has definitely one of the best Single Player/Story Model that I have played. Haven't been on RDRO myself since November. I do not have the game on PC, but PS4. Regarding the comparision to RDRO, no it's not even that close to being active in terms on GTAO. The free giveaway on Epic Games brought a lot of players to the nearly dead GTAO. But again, like Martin pointed out above, there are a lot of niggles and not a great number of activities which you could even do. It's been almost two years and the online platform in RDR feels still at beta. Maybe it'll stay in that phase for long. For occassional play-offs, it's not bad at all. But my advice would be to get it for the Story Mode. Worth the money. i5 10400F • MSI Z490-A PRO • XPG 16GB DDR4 3000MHz • MSI RX 570 4GB • NZXT H510 • Cooler Master MWE 650 V2
Gettin up
Both single-player and online are great gaming experience. Buy it! Not sure what the ultimate edition gives out though.

Gray-Hand
Depends. In my opinion, you will get value for money in buying RDR2 at 50% off even if you only play online. But you could spend the same money and get way more fun for longer by buying at least 20 other games I can think of off the top of my head. To give you a comparison, I would say that GTAO has about 1000% more fun, enjoyable content than RDO. That is not an exaggeration. It would take 10 times longer to get to the stage where you are just retreading old ground in GTAO than it would in RDO. GTAO has been running since 2013, after all. Having said that, RDO is probably slightly more engaging for that (very short) period before the grind sets in. The community is way better. Griefing is way more rare and harder to execute. People who complain about being constantly griefed must either be playing the game in a weird way or are complete crybabies. I wouldn’t recommend that someone spend money to just play online. I say this as someone with a level 120+ character. I highly recommend single player. If single player had cost me $500 I wouldn’t have regretted spending the money. kcole4001
With a new update and Outlaw Pass coming Tuesday, it's probably a very good time if it's on sale...as long as you know what you're getting into. Single Player is quite excellent, online can be quite enjoyable depending on what you like as a player, and yes, dependent on your platform. There are cheaters, they won't stop them until they've become a nuisance, then they get banned, but until then cheaters run rampant.

kcole4001
Start hitting daily challenges, you'll need gold for the coming Outlaw Pass. You will get all your gold back when you complete it, judging by the past ones, so it is well worth doing, especially so for new players. Krommer
Online can be fun, but has many broken things (has for a very long time, disconnects, camp problems, no/few animal spawns, other players messing with you because thing are broken and they are bored (even if you are defensive.) ) You start, with junk clothing, even as a female, but clothing is pretty cheap. For female characters, there are not a lot of choices for skirts. The "job" outfits come with some that include a skirt; What you can do is select to use the top part of one moonshiner/whatever outfit with the bottom part of another moonshiner/whatever outfit (but it has to be the same one, like Moonshiner/moonshiner or trader/trader.) So I ended up making a kind of good looking outfit which has a skirt. Sometimes they bring back older stuff, like I got the "hiked up skirt", or whichever one has part of the legs/petticoat showing, when it came back briefly. There are really quite a few outfit choices. Virtually no animal spawns, when 24 other players are in the lobby (which is all the time for me, even overnight/5:30 am Central USA), gets old. I've not found a way to get into a solo/low number of players lobby, at least on the Xbox One (tried the thing where you let the resupply mission time out, while in the camp and then get a new one after, but it doesn't work for me.) They are supposed to be addressing player concerns, or something, with the July 28 update that adds "Naturalist" to the jobs; it remains to be seen if it is important stuff, such as NO ANIMAL SPAWNS! A job like "Naturalist", without animal spawns working, would be pretty dumb... At least my disappearing camp bugs eventually went away. The camp is actually pretty stable now, for me. They still don't seem to have gotten the message that many players don't want ANY pvp; The other day I did a trader delivery, short distance, on defensive. Though it went smoothly, I had to fight NPC guys at the delivery point, where the traders were. Some pink/red players (probably in offensive, I guess???) kind of hung around there for an overly long time, then even though I completed the mission fine one barrels into me on his horse or something, which I guess makes it so they can attack me (no idea... ) Then they all start attacking me (immediately killing my horse), doing damage, even though I'm still in defensive. Since I was in defensive, I can't really target them with weapons (which is the irritating part of being in defensive. ) However, I did get a few kills on them with my trusty volatile fire bottles and dynamite arrows (since in defensive, you aim at their feet basically (since you can't target lock them) ) Most of the time people really don't mess with me, but it is irritating when they do. "ULTIMATE", is good for the "free good horse." This is really great, both single player and online have good free horses. Online you have to do something, I forget what exactly, I think just go to the stable (after following along and getting your first "junk" horse)? That horse is always free (same as in single player) to get again (even if ever lost, for some reason.) I used that horse exclusively, finding it very good for being free, never getting around to getting a Missouri Fox Trotter/whatever because by then the Frontier Pursuits was out and I was getting the horses you can buy with the jobs. Oh you already bought? $26 is a good deal It is worth that for the single player alone. Whoah, I just thought of something, if "Naturalist" has something to do with Fishing too, that would be awesome. One thing I miss from single player, is catching the trophy fish you mail to the guy; it is weird they don't have something cool like that in online. The great thing about Fishing, in online, is that it is the one thing that always consistently works for me (even if my camp/animal spawns etc. are broke.) When desperate, I would take my Hunting wagon by that White House with the gully by the water, by Blackwater, and fill it up fast with five Lake Sturgeon then drive it to the Butcher who is really close by Edited July 25, 2020 by Krommer kcole4001
