There's something for everyone/nothing for anyone this week, depending on your viewpoint, with the usual raft of discounts, promotions and benefits. Most people will roll their eyes at the same marketing tactic, though, instead of much anticipated news about a future update.

 

Some observations:

• What does "Pick a side between the Apocalypse, Future Shock and Nightmare variants - whichever variant is played in the most matches this weekend will receive a 50% discount next week across all Arena War vehicles." mean?
  I understand the English, but does this mean next week will be an Arena Wars Event? And does anyone care at this point and didn't we have an Arena Wars event a few weeks ago?
• Also, "Starting this week, you can also get the Vespucci Canals Nightclub property for free", etc.; for being a Twitch Prime member.
  In other words, Rockstar are pushing their fanbase into signing up to this service, probably because they get a commission/percentage for every user who does so, thereby gently pushing GTA online players into a subscription service. Amazon Prime is cheap at the moment and pretty good, but is GTA online gradually become a monthly pay-for game?

Buddy, you don't get a specific vehicle, but a discount across the board on the class of AW vehicle that wins the most rounds this week, i.e.; if the Apocalypse class wins the most rounds then it will be on discount NEXT week. It's a pretty poor marketing tactic to get us to play Arena Wars and to gauge its popularity.

Lovely, was just getting to grips with the fact that i constantly have to report people and then abandon most races because of the influx of cheaters, and now this is gonna cause a 10-fold of low level hosts and rammers again, this game just keeps on giving

Configure your game so that you remain the host after the first race, then set it to non-contact, problem solved. As the host, as well as for technical networking reasons, it takes a couple of rounds to gather a decent-sized lobby, but after this it fills up.

 

For contact racing you need to be in a racing crew, otherwise it can be hellish, especially when complete noobs turn off custom cars and run with default catch up.

A fair plan, which sadly (at least in my experience) doesn't stop 'script kiddies' from spawning collidable vehicles / props in the middle of the track or even in the air mid-race. People racing properly do at least get a warm, fuzzy feeling if they avoid the new obstacles and continue down the track without issue though!

Discounts are a bit 'meh' this week, and I'm not baited to play any more Arena War, but 2x on Stunt Races (probably alone!) is always fun.

My understanding is that the class that is used the most is the one that gets the discount, so if let's say 70% og the players use the apocalypse versions, that's the one that gets the discount

YES. I love 2x bikers (and have full coke, meth, and weed). I love stunt races and have been itching to try some of my newer car purchases on them. Deadline is my favorite AM.

Would you recommend buying it now on discount? It has some advantage strategy-wise?

I think it could be useful recovering hangar crates on the sea when they bring down my Buzzard...

Not really. It wasn't the worst thing when it was first released, but it was far from the best. Now that we have the Deluxo and broomstick? Its purpose is even more futile.

Yeah. Sometimes it's easy to forget the issued on PC until I read of them. Though I don't (and won't) play there, I do hope to see things get better for our PC brothers and sisters.

Does that mean among all players?

 

There's no way the bonus can be player-specific, is there? I.e. player A gets Apocalypse, while player B gets Future Shock.

 

I got all the vehicles I need anyway; I hope they'll put a discount on modifications though. Got a couple of cars that need nitros.

The Arena War thing is different I guess. Wouldn't mind completing my utterly pointless and 99% unused Arena War vehicle collection with a Dominator, Issi and whatever the Arena Glendale monster truck type thing is called. 

 

The Post OP van delivery mission renders the whole biker dlc unplayable for me. Do you guys who play it just put up with them? Or start new session when they come up? Or get a squad together to run defence while others deliver? Pushing one along in a Nightshark can speed things up but you need a decent sized mc and you're still an open goal for any Mk2 tryhard.

 

Still not a bad week for me; needed a break after putting some shifts in on crates and CH last week, made an easy 10 million, won 1 Komoda and unlocked trade prices on the Jugular and Everon.

I find a new session, Same with the dustbin one. I know the dustbin one is doable in the 30 minutes but I can't be bothered with it. My order of faves is...

 

1 x Truck

4 x Bikes (When you have to put them in the lorry)

1 x Truck (Cannabis one when he gets high)

4 x Bikes (When the location changes and get a wanted level)

3 x Helicopters

3 x Boats 

3 x Sea plane

 

Unless is one of the above I'm not doing it. That's why I only do MC business during double money.
