junkie
Yes but their "recommended" specs are a little more demanding. And it is usually the recommended specs that give the best, most smooth gameplay. The recommended specs are: Intel Pentium IV or AMD Athlon XP processor 256 MB of RAM 16X CD / DVD drive 1.55 GB of free hard disk space (+ 635 MB if video card does NOT support DirectX Texture Compression) 64(+) MB video card with DirectX 9.0 compatible drivers ("GeForce 3 / "Radeon 8500" or better with DirectX Texture Compression support) Sound Card with DirectX 9.0 compatible drivers
GTA3Freak-2001
Yeah it would be better for people to follow the recommended specs for the best possible gameplay.

Mustyman
My system meets all the recommended specs. I have a 64mb grafix card. Although it is a geforce 2, but on the system requirements it says geforce 3 or above. But mine is still 64mb. I hope thats not gona be a problem of any sort. I dont think it will be, but i probably wont be able to play with high grafix options. Which im not too bothered about.
Purple9
1.55 GB! Damn, I've just been playing Theme Hospital, and that only takes 55mb to install! How things have moved on, eh? Both set of specs are fine for me, more or less - AMD XP ...except the Graphics bit..I may have to sort a new one out..but I may not even get VCPC yet..who knows! The Precinct - We're upping our standards, so up yours!

SimEri
pentium3 866mhz 256mb sdram geforce3 ti200 soundblaster live 5.1 basically its my processor that ive got a problem with, if my dad put a few thousand kr (few hundrer dollars) we could get a new processor and motherboard and 512mb ddr, THEN with the parts we got over, and other ones we could put them on the old comp and have 1 good and one average. SimEri
DAMN, ma comp is pentium 500, 256 ram, 32 mb video, directx and all, sh*t I MUST HAVE THA GAME MAN, maybe it runs in ma comp, everything is possible, , i just praying... i wont bet on it, look at my specs (this thread, go up a bit) and change the vid card to a tnt2 32mb, that was what i had when i got the game at first (gta3), the graphics was so poor, i couldent even look straight without it dropping to 5fps, i hated the game sooooo much, until i got the gforce3. dont waste the money if it wont even work, and with what u got now i dont think gta3 would even work without fubar graphics. GTA3Freak-2001
Thank god I am getting my pc upgraded this week just in time for Vice I am going from: Celeron 1.1Ghz, 128 MB SDRAM, TNT2 32 MB to Athlon XP2000, 512MB DDR RAM, GeForce 4 MX400 64MB, that should be enough to play Vice
[ej]
yea some people mis understand compatibility its allready stated gta vc is more compatible then the first gta when it first came out. i think youd pass with a 700mhz 256'er with a geforce 2 or higher. GTA3Freak-2001
Yeah, it seems Rockstar have learnt from the mistakes of GTA3 PC and have took more care in converting it onto PC. And what also helps the game run better than GTA3 is the fact that Vice runs off a more refined version of the Renderware engine.
Sphinx357
Pentium 4: 2ghz 512mb DDR RAM ATI Radeon 8500 LE 128mb Now Grand Theft Auto 3 ran not too bad, it did lag at points though, which was strange. However in Vice City I get no lag what so ever. I run the draw distance all the way up and at 1024x768x32 and with that little option "limit frames" I haven't had problems yet. It runs alot smoother than Grand Theft Auto 3, and I don't get the annoying disapearing roads and blurry textures anymore. Rockstar did a great job improving. Sutto
Well that rules out my cpu, some how i dont think 165mhz and a 2gig hardrive will cut it....... Come to think of it, i cant even play GTA2!!!!
