i5-4670 CPU Question

Recommended Posts

Hi everyone!

I have a question: Somebody with that processor has some shuttering during the game?

I tried any settings but some random spikes with shuttering happens all the time.

I tried different solutions. BES, -cpuLoadRebalancing, etc.

I just suppose that proccessor doesn't work properly with RDR 2 because it's architecture has 4 cores/4 threads and no hyperthreading;

You are right that RDR 2 is not optimized for some processors, I have i7 4790 3.60 ghz with 4 cores/8 threads and with hyperthreading, I have annoying very short freezes near and in the towns, no matter the graphics settings (low or high/ultra), I tried everything and still wondering how to or will they ever gonna fix this sh#t!!!

Hi, I play with i5-4590, I had serious freezes playing with DX12 but not with Vulkan. Furthermore, I play with dynamic resolution reduced by x0.850 to keep 60 fps. My settings are the Digital Foundry optimised settings with few tweaks.

I just wanna be sure that this is only processor problem, not virtual ram problem?

Maybe I need to buy some cheap ryzen 3600

I'm 100% sure that this's cpu problem. I'll buy a new PC when the ps5 gen completely come, like I always do (ps2, ps3, ps4 gen), now I don't want to spend money for expensive hardware which will be unusable after 1-2 years. C* must to fix this, this's since the day one of the PC version!!!

I was thinking that the game will be heavy in the forest where is a lot of vegetation but it's heavy (unoptimized) in the towns?!

Yeah, I just wanna smooth experience that's all. Maybe our processors just can't handle this game.

RDR2 is inherently a 2019 era game, it's heavy, 4 cores and 4 threads are obsolete nowadays for modern gaming and you can't possibly blame Rockstar for some issues running those configs IMO. No need to compare to other games either as they're not as open world and as advanced as RDR2 - maybe something like Watch Dogs 2 would also give you issues with maxed CPU.

You are somewhat right, so, let's buy the best hardware and don't complain and pay attention to this kind of technical issues/bugs and their next PC product will be extra optimized. I don't want to annoyed on you or make you angry but the reality is that on i7 4790 3.60 ghz with 4 cores/8 threads; 16gb ram; gtx 1070 on LOW/medium 1080p settings there is a lags, short freezes, the strange thing is that on Medium/high 1080p the performance is the same and still lags and short freezes?!

I'll go to blame myself why I don't invest my money on hardware!

I hate to hear that s..it 😃 Sorry bro, but I played at 4K on Xbox one x in that game with smooth framerate. The game has bad vegetation textures for optimization (look at the grass which is complete s..it).  So the game looks cool but it's not next-gen. Consoles are weaker than PCs. I understood that all ultra settings is heavy but on any settings processor can't handle smooth in 30 fps! It's funny and hilarious.

And even 2080ti can't handle it smooth in 4K! A video card that has 2000$ price!

Xbox One X has a 6 (or 8?) core CPU. It's not weaker than some PC's here in this section.

i7 6700 here. My game ran beautiful many months ago. Mix of mid to ultra settings @4k (0,667 scaling) in locked 50FPS. No stutter, butterysmooth. Must've played 30 hours this way. Since a couple of months the game is unplayabale, regardless of the setting it stutters every few seconds. Stutter on lowest settings, on mid settings on high settings. Stutter on 720p, on 1080p on 4k. No matter what. They have broken the games with their last patches for me. Same crap happened with GTA V. Game was smooth as butter, then the patches made it unplayable for me. And of course i did everything i could to fix this problem. Everything.
