Ray Carter
I was inspired to make this after seeing a fan made map of Las Venturas as a possible setting for GTA 6. While the map was very well made, I wondered what Las Venturas could offer in terms of a good story and missions. I looked back at GTA San Andreas and realised there was really only one story arc which was helping Woozie with setting up his casino and protecting it against the Mafia by scoping out their casino and later robbing it. This then inspired me to create more missions that could have been set in Las Venturas. I figured the only possibility must have come from buying a new asset and unlocking some optional missions. "Taking Stock" After robbing Caligula's Casino, Carl is now very rich and several properties become available for purchase. One of which is a Gun Store and Shooting Range across from the Four Dragons Casino which Carl buys. After meeting the former owner who hands over the keys, Carl decides to keep him as the store manager. The Manager explains that he lost his business license and was unable to acquire stock and was forced to sell his business. He explains that the LVPD was able to intercept a delivery for his shop and is now in the police impound. Carl takes whatever inventory remains in the shop, a Silenced Pistol, and heads for the impound. The player sneaks into the impound garage, taking out the patrolling officers and finds a Flatbed at the bottom floor of the garage. He picks up several more weapons and body armor, then enters the Flatbed. He then rams his way through the gunfire until he reaches street level and gains a three-star wanted level. He loses the wanted level through bribes or the pay & spray, then parks the Flatbed at the back of the Gun Shop, completing the mission. "Official Business" Carl speaks with the Manager again. The Manager explains that they will need a new business license to open the store. The City Official responsible for issuing permits is at the Yellow Bell Golf Course. The player drives to the Yellow Bell Golf Course and finds the City Official who hops in a Caddy and flees. Carl hops in the other Caddy and gives chase. Carl makes some short cuts and rams the other Caddy until the damage causes the City Official to stop and flee on foot. Carl gets ahead of the City Official and holds him at gunpoint. Carl demands a new business license and the City Official agrees, completing the mission. "Nice Bazookas" Carl speaks with the Manager again. Carl says they need to drum up some interest and the Manager recommends hiring nude girls to model the guns. Carl gets an idea on where to find them. The player drives to a local strip club and begins throwing money around to attract some girls. He offers them better paying job at his gun shop which the girls all agree too. The club owner is unhappy with all his girls quitting and threatens Carl, who then beats up the owner and the security. Carl then leaves the strip club and drives the girls back to the store, completing the mission. "The Bet" Carl speaks with the Manager again. The Manager explains that another gun shop across town threatened him due to competition. Carl heads out to speak with the rival store owner. The player drives to the other gun store across town and speaks with the owner. The Owner agrees to a truce if Carl can beat him in marksmanship, but if Carl loses, he must hand over the deed to his store. Carl agrees to the bet. Carl then goes through multiple shooting challenges such as a shooting alley, and shooting from the back of a vehicle and from a helicopter at moving targets. Carl wins the challenge and the Owner agrees not to cause trouble anymore, completing the mission. The store begins making money and becomes an asset. If anyone is good with DYOM, then feel free to create these missions for real. Edited July 12, 2020 by Ray Carter Keegan01
Keegan01
These are some very interesting ideas! I would love to see Venturas expanded in San Andreas, but the story is more focused around family and betrayal.
