Campo1988
Hello. I have tried following different posts and articles explaining how to get GTA 4 to work without RGSC, but I got confused. Apparently, RGSC is not needed anymore, so that you should be able to save the game offline. I won't give my opinion as to why they demanded you be online to save game progress. I had installed GTA 4 and did the release date check and I was able to start the game. I decided that in a number of years the game's servers might be offline forever, so then I wouldn't be able to play the game in the future, so I tried getting a patch for it. According to the patch, GTA_IV_EFIGS_PATCH_8.exe, which is what one site said to use, RGSC is no longer needed. I tried loading the game after installing this patch, to no avail. I rebooted and tried again, and it didn't work. One help said to use xliveless (xlive.dll), another said to delete Paul.dll, one said to install GfWL. I tried various options and combining them in different configurations... all to no avail. Some gave me errors, and said to reboot or reinstall GfWL... Is there any way at all that I can get 2-disc GTA 4 (with separate 2-disc LatD and BoGT) Complete Edition to work on Windows 7 without RGSC, to work offline, so that I can be confident that I could play the game in the future and save the game progress on my computer? I hope so. I don't know which x.xx.xxx version of the game it is - where can I check for that? My current laptop's specs are not good enough for an enjoyable gaming experience on GTA 4, so I can hardly play the game, even though it does work, albeit badly - but if I can get it to work on here, then I hope I can get it to work on a better computer; as such, Benchmarking did not work at all. The DX version is, since installing the game, 11 (I am not certain if it changed the OS's DX version or not). Please and thanks.
