Zello
The third person view stuff is interesting with the backback some weapons and the horse I know Far Cry has always been 1st person but all these little teases I wouldn't mind third person but I don't think they'll add it. Mister Pink
Kind of on the fence. Ubisoft always make nice looking worlds with lots of potential and then kind of ruin it with repetitive loop play. That might pass being good in a world where RDR and GTA don't exist. I must admit, I do like the setting. And I'm sure this game could be good for 30 hours before it gets repetitive. sabitsuki
I like the idea of a customizable protagonist and a nice Caribbean urban setting but If it's going to be another outpost-clearing gig then I'm out. I think it's about time they change up the core formula and reintroduce more random events like in Far Cry 2. Mindshower
I'm sure it'll be a worthwhile play, but I can't help but see the game as a fever dream amalgamation of every tropical blow sh*t up game made in the past 10-15 years. Might as well call it Just Cry. KingAJ032304

Guns a-Blazin
Nothing major from Ubisoft. All they did were show us more background into Giancarlo Esposito's character and this trailer that leaked out 9 hours ago: Now, I'm not sure how I feel about this ^. The theme looks to be fantastical-like and the hallucinogenic vision seems to be returning from Far Cry 5. Ivan1997GTA

Cell Tennyson
I've played upto Farcry 4 and after I came to know about Farcry 6, I am super excited about it. So far the trailers and console gameplays were great, can't wait to see its gameplay quality in PC.
Mexicola9302
Far Cry 5 was also okay, i mean all these games are mostly just 30 ish hours of gameplay, if you only strictly follow the mainstory. So it's no big deal just doing a playthrough. I will get a free key for Far Cry 6, because i bought a R9 5950x last year, just the standard version, but better than nothing. Im looking forward to it, but i hope it is less, take outposts etc. what we already had in all previous far cry's, it's just getting old that typical Ubisoft game mechanic. But i bet, there will be outposts, well i can live with it, but yeah it's getting boring. I started playing Far Cry with the second title, i never played Far Cry 1, i played 2, 3, 4, 5 and their DLC's. Primal wasn't my thing, i don't like being a caveman. trip
trip
Yeah...looking forward to 6. I recently replayed 5 and totally appreciate how they handle open world. You are never really forced to a story point, but somehow you always end up there. They also have that neat way of scripting in something in the middle of the open world...you know; get in a firefight and next thing you know you are hit and down...and then waking up somewhere else. Oh and I hear ya on the outposts. I'm currently replaying Mafia 3 which is like an endless stream of FC style outpost missions. Mexicola9302
Oh yeah i remember the annoying repetetive gameplay of Mafia III. The music and the atmosphere is nice, the story cutscenes too, but the gameplay is just lackluster. I still got that installed for some reason, even tho i probably won't play it again, well i got enough storage.
Daz
I see they have stupid weapon charms. I hope that is optional. Ruining a perfectly good M16A1 with a stupid toy dangling off it. Also a lot of improvised weapons, of which I really didn't want. Because for the vast majority of the time, they are always slower, awkward or less fun than any other conventional weapon. They are generally a gimmick that really just gets old after 2 minutes. Why would I want to shoot CDs at someone instead of have a decent gun that is more effective? At least if there are joke weapons, make them OP just for the fun of it. It seems like Ubi really cannot decide what they want to do with their franchise anymore. There is basically 0% charisma or likeability in ANY characters in these games except the main villain. Everyone in that trailer was extremely generic and bland, like a character off the street in Just Cause, simply just a human like object walking around, barely passing as anything close to realistic. Odd faces, poor dialog, terrible clothing and outfit designs, just generic rebel fighter, copy and pasted like any other. I am not quite sure why we have a protagonist again. They are obviously very clear with their mode or dlc to play as each of the main bosses in the game series that they are not even in 100% with this random woman we play as. I much preferred the FC5 option of just creating your own character and chosing your outfit. It felt more personal, more like I was playing rather than the generic babyface idiot as usual. So I don't know why that wouldn't be an option. For me the most fun sh*t is clearing out areas, unlocking new guns, playing in co-op and messing around with vehicles and stuff online. Getting OP perks so I can do takedowns super easy. Using wingsuits and easy ways to get around. I feel like that should be Far Cry's main focus above anything else first and foremost. It will be disappointing if a lot of features have been removed, or locked out. I also really liked the custom maps from FC5, I feel that really didn't get enough attention. It was impressive to play maps from COD4 or Deus Ex, or some vietnam/blood dragon mix that had all the assets, I feel like that would be a better future of the series, more of a user created mix of it all. The themed DLC's assets were all included in the base game, so you could have zombies, space sh*t, vietnam, or blood dragon themed assets and enemies. So I hope we still have the custom maps to kill bots on. And co-op. Otherwise what is the point really? The games never evolved past the same gameplay setup since FC3. As let's face it, the shooting mechanics were never really super satisfying. From Far Cry 3, maybe, but in 2021? It just isn't meaty enough. I may get it out of boredom, but it really could be a hit or miss. Mister Pink
Jason
The last time I played a Far Cry game was FC3 back when I got it free with my GPU years ago, and I'll be playing FC6 purely cause I also got it free with my CPU so it's fair to say I'm not a big Far Cry fan by any means, but, I'm lowkey looking forward to it. I'm in the mood for some chaos and this is coming out at a great time of the year as well I think. Looking forward to it.
TheSantader25
I liked Far Cry 2, 3 and slightly 4. But 5 was a pain for me to finish. I like the setting of this so far and I'm looking forward to it. But it's goddamn Ubisoft and they somehow manage to disappoint me with every single game these days. So we'll see how this one turns out.
Jason
I feel like you basically have to go into a Ubisoft game with relatively tame expectations. Not low, because their games should be good to a standard, but expecting something special from any of them is... daft. They are literally the McDonalds (or your other favourite fast food chain of choice) of the games industry. They don't innovate and they deliver the same type of experiences every year, but every now and then you could just murder a double cheeseburger and fries. The problem with wacky guns is that you have to make them do something unique in order for them to be fun. And you either have to earn them through hard work or they have to be extremely rare and used only on occasion. If you always have access to wacky guns, and all they do is essentially the same as what other weapons do, but with a different projectile, then you just have an immersion breaking item. I mean they have massacred most of their Tom Clancy games recently. If they would have just given fans what they wanted, which in most cases is "same type of experience every year" (but in different location) I guess that people wouldn't be as pissed off as they are at the moment. Look at the reactions for Ghost Recon Frontline. Considering that they just managed to somewhat please old fans with later patches of Breakpoint, this is kind of innovative if you ask me. A battle royal game that totally rips off Warzone. That was the last thing people wanted. But I guess that Ubisoft wanted to be innovative with their games. But your "McDonalds of the game industry" is spot on. I love it. As much as I liked previous Far Cry games, I'm probably going to wait until the price is right, if this one gets decent reviews/fan reaction. Jason
Played an hour or so before I head off to bed, early impressions are so far so fun. It will surprise no one, it's a Ubisoft Far Cry game. Digging it so far though and looking forward to getting into it proper tomorrow. Runs well enough too, getting 60-70+fps at 1440p 21:9) on high settings (can't remember if max) with both raytracing options on with the AMD DLSS thingy (forgot the name) set to Ultra quality. I did however install the HD texture pack and was seeing some low res textures as it loads low-res textures when it's hitting the VRAM cap, so I've disabled those. Also 21:9 cutscenes are wonky as hell so anyone playing on one of those screens should use a 21:9 cutscene fix, which has already been figured out and is similar to other Ubisoft 21:9 fixes. trip
I have no issues with Ubisoft and FarCry games. In the past a new release would usually mean a big jump in graphic fidelity, maybe some smoothed out controls, and gameplay lessons learned from the past. The industry has matured so much that those days are pretty much over. Just like a new movie, most new games are just like a new movie. Not a whole lot has changed, but a new setting and never before seen action gets witnessed for the first time. I'm swapping out my day off tomorrow so that I can take off today and play FC6. E: Not a big fan of the shirt wearing alligator. Also, not sure how I feel about auto looting the dead and animals. Ee: Also not happy with how quests are delivered. Totally pulls you out of any immersion with a bonus of spoiling surprise payouts. YNNEL
It’s alright. Standard Ubisoft affair really. The setting isn’t really immersing me much so far. They really nailed it with Assassins Creed Origins/Odyssey. Any game that involves a horse now just feels crap because of RDR2.

Jason
Sank about 5 hours or so into it according to the Ubisoft client. The combat is fun, there's a lot of room for improv and messing about if you wanna go crazy which is good. Stealth is pretty OP as per usual in these types of games. There's loads of loot too, weapons, clothing, charms (lol) and crafting materials all of which (except charms) are always useful. That said, the looting doesn't get much deeper than that and it can be seen as repetitive but on the other hand the game isn't trying to be an RPG with tacked on RPG mechanics, loot rarity and skill trees. Clothing and the various stats and effects of the clothing items in the game are kinda neat but don't change all that much as far as I've seen. The game tries to hammer home changing your loadout depending on the job and the game supports weapon/clothing change on the fly but playing that way is tedious, so I don't see many doing it. Weapon modding is actually kinda nice but I wish they went deeper into it and had more options to really customise your weapons. Weapon variety is fine, the "Resolver" stuff is where the crazy stuff is weapon wise but I've not dabbled much in those yet, and the backpacks are kinda meh as they feel a bit OP and ultimate-y and you can't unequip them as they're tied to your gadget loadouts (grenades etc) which is kinda weird but it's not a big deal. Story wise it's what you'd expect but the main sort of issue with the story and world is the tone goes from very serious and touches on hard subjects to "lol lets blow sh*t up, viva la revolution111!!" which results in a tone that's a bit all over the place. Stand out so far is probably the female version of Dani, who is yet another well done female protagonsit performance from Ubisoft from what I've seen so far - the soundtrack so far has also been very enjoyable too. Jason
Yea there's some widely reported texture issues with the game right now, seems like the raytracing options might make it worse as well. Ultrawide is fine in game but yea cutscenes are problematic, if you use AMD's DLSS (I always forget the name lol) it'll stretch them which looks worse than letterboxed cutscenes to me, so I've turned that off for now. Getting a problem right now where my FPS just nosedives to unplayable levels, I think it's related to the Ubisoft Connect servers having issues? AZAZEL
I'm quite enjoying the game and all its shenanigans. Jason
Man, despite on the surface offering ultrawide support with the UI options this game just doesn't play well with UW to the point I think they never tested it. Stretching cutscenes when FSR is enabled is one thing, but I just got locked in 16:9 after some tank gameplay despite the UI still rendering in 21:9. Had to restart to fix... I assume, as getting the game to launch atm is tricky due to Ubi's cloud save servers. Edit: Fixed the game dropping to unplayable FPS, it was the raytracing. After a few transitions (cutscenes or fast travel) my FPS would go from 60+ to <20 and stay there, disabling raytracing fixed it. Luckily raytracing here isn't really a selling point and hey, I get more FPS with it turned off for now.
