Tails Prower Posted July 14, 2020 Share Posted July 14, 2020 Well the last Far Cry I played was 4 but this one seems to be pretty much on my Pre-Order list though dem prices for the Pre-Order are typical of Ubisoft. At least there's a free upgrade for PS5 in there though so that will be good but I kinda get the feeling that the free upgrades are a sneaky way to get sales on the PS4 edition but at least the island world and a good dictator/son to overthrow has all the makings of a good open world game to me and be interesting to see weapons/vehicles as more info on the game comes out! Hopefully it isn't too heavily reliant on improvised weapons because that sh*t is just so played out in games right now. Sick of f*cking pipe guns and pneumatic airguns and bollocks. Seems like its a Cuba knock off, which is cool for the cars and classic weapons hopefully. It does look a lot like Vaas in that car throwing the molly. It would also be cool to drive tanks, especially in co-op. I am hoping they take more of a Just Cause approach with this one. I mean Ubisoft do have the tendency to overhype their far cry antagonists and barely show them. However Vaas' presence is felt throughout the entire game even after his death IMO. I'm not happy to see 'Co-op' and 'Multiplayer' in the description of what is supposed to be a single-player game. I wish developers would accept that some people like lasagna, some people like chocolate, and many people like both, but attempting to cater to a wider audience by combining the two is not a recipe for great lasagna or great chocolate -- though some people may believe otherwise. I'm glad to see delays instead of unfinished games, but the best way to ensure no delays is to make the release date 'When Finished' from the start! Jason Posted May 27, 2021 Share Posted May 27, 2021 Looks wackier than I expected, only flicked through it and didn't catch much of the cutscene but super wacky gameplay with what seems like a somewhat serious toned story? If that's the case, it's peak Ubisoft really. They seem to detatch the gameplay from the world/story in a lot of their games which is why despite making some of the most beautiful, detailed worlds in the industry their games are never what I'd call immersive for me. I really have little interest in Far Cry in general but I've been keeping an eye on FC6 cause I actually got a free copy last year with my CPU, so I'll give it a whirl for sure, it does look fun it just doesn't look like anything really special from the footage so far. sabitsuki 1 Link to comment Share on other sites More sharing options...

DexMacLeod Posted May 29, 2021 Share Posted May 29, 2021 I think it looks pretty good, though I tend to enjoy the basic Ubisoft open world game loop. I find that, as time goes on, I care less and less about the story in a game and more about the actual gameplay. Ubisoft tends to make it pretty easy to just ignore the story and treat the world like a big enemy outpost raiding sandbox. Even without touching main story missions there's generally still just enough RPG elements/player progression that I never feel like I'm not being "productive". That said, the tone does seem to be considerably more light-hearted then I would like. Far Cry 5 had a handful of "whacky" side characters/optional partners but for the most part took itself pretty seriously. I'm hoping that's the case here, too but I'm kinda getting Watch Dogs 2 vibes from what we've seen so far. I'm sure there will be a sidequest or even a main mission that uses it once but otherwise I think it'll be pretty easy to ignore. The backpack thing, though?
