Daz Posted July 11, 2020 Share Posted July 11, 2020 "Frozen in time"? So maybe we might get some 60s, 70s, 80s guns, vehicles, technology, music, etc. All while being technically in the present day? Far Cry 3 hit it's peak imo. Blood Dragon was incredible and I wish we got more of that style of spinoff with these games. Lately they have kind of lost their way. FC4 was decent, it finally added in co-op story but it didn't allow you to complete story missions together. I also wasn't into the style of the map. Some parts were cool and I like the Tibet style and the Shangri-La levels but it didnt feel as far cry as a tropical paradise. I did enjoy FC5, and I think its best feature which was extremely underutilized was its user created maps. I was hoping it would follow the same progression as Trials did with it's maps, with the user created maps ending up better than official ones. I hope we see more of this for some unique online or co-op game modes. A garrys mod far cry could be really fun. Didn't bother with whatever the last one was, it seemed like basically an expansion on FC5 and really didn't excite me at all, trying to be a post apocalyptic world but with neon colors, that got confusing when Rage 2 had a similar style. I hope we can go back to what made FC3 great, but with up to date features and co-op like the later games provided. I doubt they will have messed with the engine or shooting mechanics. There were always cool guns but they all felt so weak and didn't really feel satisfying to shoot with. Any full auto gun was just a hose pipe that sprayed weak ass rounds and never felt meaty enough. I hope that changes. I did love the customizable character of FC5 but if we have to be a story character again I doubt we will be able to do that again. I think making things fun for co-op is the way to go and having a blank slate main character or character creator is a better route for these games at this point. I remember it quite well because I got my game one week before release and I took my time with it and got my platinum trophy just before RDR2 came out lol But I agree. I guess Ubisoft had no idea about Cyberpunk's delay when they decided a release date and they can't delay it since Far Cry 6 would overlap it a Hideo Kojima post.
