Is GTAO the most profitable online game ever?

I mean it has to be at this point right. The game is a money making machine and there are no signs of that stopping anytime soon

Considering GTA V already has the title of "Highest Grossing Entertainment Product*", I'm all but certain its online portion holds a similar title. 

 

*I'm not sure of its exact title but it was something along those lines.

I''m going to assume that other games such as Fortnite are making a lot more money now but then again GTAO is old and probably made more money in total.

Most likely yes and the interesting part is, it's still gaining more players after all these years.

Yes but p2p are far cheaper and easier to maintain, why would they waste big bucks to maintain the dedicated servers when they know the game would have millions of players regardless of type of servers the game runs on?

 

Conversely, GTA IV servers are still up on last gen because of this, though it seems that they are going to be shutdown this year.
