I'm not sure tbh but the Arena War stuff are soo overpriced, that's all I can think of and I'm not saying Oppressor MKII since I use it to grind or the Oribital Cannon since I've never been blown up by it. Actually another thing I can say is R* patching the Avenger store crate glitch since it made delivering crates easier but they don't patch the plane drop glitch where you "drop" the cargo but it doesn't actually drop.

Your post indicates that you have simply changed your view of the game.

They are 2 different things.

You changing your view of the game only affects your relationship with it, not mine, or anyone elses, unless of course they share your view.

This isn't a subjective thread with a concrete answer, it's just you making a post moaning about the game that would've surely been better in the B&M, and a bunch of people agreeing with you who, for reasons only they can fathom, go into public sessions, rather than using the listed vehicles for the purposes they were meant, which was not as COD reject battle vehicles, unless you are 12 years old, but rather as very useful tools to further getting rich and having lots of nice stuff.

To illustrate that, in the past 2 weeks I have spent 120 million on toys for my second character, money I got more quickly than I used to thanks to my flying dog and his pals, while you have wasted you lives getting into it with little kids in free roam.

It's your choice how you use these goodies, no one is forcing you to be dumb about it..

This is a very roundabout way of calling the OP a twat! Not cool.

And it's real. Just checked on YouTube and clicked thumbs down instantly. Quoting/reading out posts from this thread as HIS NEWS! Oh my God! Why not go full time with it and serialize the B&M into a weekly ranting video? Why not post videos talking about how awful GTA online is, when you ironically suck the blood out of it for a living!

I know, and I'm not having a go at you :D. You're totally cool and really great in my book.

I did the same: a quick search on YouTube, and there it is, his latest video!  Oh, man, so misinformed and desperate! GTA goes through these doldrums every so often, especially before summer updates (that might not arrive). It's not "ruined"! Buggy, yes, overly sensationalized, certainly, but not "ruined".

Think about a base pizza and what makes it so great. Nice pastry, smothered with tomato sauce, some herbs and a bit of cheese, than start adding more and more ingredients until you can no longer call it a pizza because it tastes like something else. This thread is about GTA online being "ruined" in the subjective opinion of the OP, which I don't agree with BTW, not about it being crap per-se 🤣.

The game was always an unbalanced mess, but the addition of Explosive Rounds(which were a necessity, but still OP), Orbital Cannon and then the Oppressor Mk2 just made the game too easy for griefers to get away with griefing the entire session.

I am adamant in saying that Rockstar never needed to add any of these bullsh*t stuff to the game at all, all they needed to do was nerf the jets!

if they had done that, we wouldn't have needed the explosive rounds, or the Ruiner 2000, or the OP Mk1, or the Deluxo and then the dreaded OP Mk2.

Imagine doing businesses in crowded public sessions and NOT having to worry about your businesses being insta-blown by a satellite on the sky, or a mouth breather flying a Saints Row bike, or a asshole thinking he's Maverick from Top Gun...People would have to settle their beef on the ground with their weapons, or rely on the CEO Buzzard which can be easily shot down...Or call in their tanks, but those can be dispatched by laying traps with explosives mines.

And then, they also need to REMOVE the ability of buying ammo from the inventory menu, which made Ammunations across the map redundant.

And also equalize the movement speed of 3rd person mode with 1st person, as to put a damp on "sniper dancing".

And count all forms of deaths negatively towards the K/D ratio, blew yourself up to not give the other guy the kill? Enjoy that hit on your ratio.

And also do something about the RC toys, as they stand they're just griefing enablers which just doesn't contribute to the game's atmosphere at all, mine's are only unleashed on griefers with their Mk2 but otherwise I wont use them because I don't like how pestering they are.

One way of making the RC toys fair was to not remove the player characters from the map, like it currently happens with the Nano drone.

It's one of the reasons why I find this game so boring nowadays and why I just stick to drive my cars, race the occasional race, and gamble my savings away on the Casino and then do a heist when I inevitably get bankrupt again.

It's just not fun to engage in vehicular PvP on this game at all when you know the other guy is just going to use their OP Mk2 to claim air and attacking superiority.

People who think Freeroam pvp is the core gameplay ruin it for me...the toys added can be put to use but it seems the roadmap of your average gamer ends with griefing and being a dick for the lulz

Looking at the current state of matters, there really isn't a roadmap of skill on PvP because PvP in this game is just about griefing the other player over and over until they quit.

The toys they added are nothing but weapons to enable on this behavior.

The Mk2 requires no skill to use, the Tanks required no skill to use, neither did the Deluxo.

The Explosive Sniper and the jets requires some skills to use, but are easy to pickup and learn, specially the jets.

The only thing needed is money to pay for the paywalls in order to unlock the overpowered homing missiles, there's not even rank unlocks for those.

the oppressor mk2

Oddly enough, I am just really getting started playing GTAO. I snagged a really low priced copy of the PS4 version, after playing SP on PC and PS3 for the past almost 7 years, and it came bundled with the free Criminal Enterprise Pack. I bought it for the sole purpose of going online and building a save. Anyway, I have been playing GTAO for a month plus a week, say about 35+ days, and while I hate the griefing, too, I absolutely LOVE the MK2. It is hands down my favorite vehicle in the game. I love using it for all kinds of stuff, from Headhunter to Terrabyte missions, and even helping me source vehicles when there are a lot of enemies. Plus, its amazingly fun to drive/fly. I guess the difference is that I don't use it to mess with people. Well, I'm also NOT very good at this game online, except for driving and flying planes and heli's. Still not good enough with the MK2 to even fight off the griefers yet, so lol they always get the better of me. Its fine, though. I won't let asshats ruin my good time. I am thoroughly enjoying building my save/character, and I think that the MK2 may actually be my favorite game in GTA history. Again, though, I use it for my own personal use, and have no ambition to grief people and try to interfere with the building of their businesses. The last thing I want to do is ruin someone's day who's trying to sell the stock in one of their businesses, while they are helplessly flying around in some unarmed heli/plane or some ground vehicle with no real defense against an MK2. I can't tell you how many times I am flying the MK2 around a lobby and the thing starts auto-targeting some guy trying to sell a vehicle or the contents of one of his businesses. Not that it matters, but in the 2-3 weeks I have owned the thing in my game, I haven't even ONCE taken the shot the game keeps offering me to block his or her sales.

Just my 2 cents, and from a guy who is VERY inexperienced and doesn't know his ass from a hole in the ground in this game yet. lol

GTA Online got Ruined for me when New Players where in Obvisious Disadvantage without a high level player, some of my friends bought gta 5 and left after playing GTA Online for once, because either they get killed constantly, or need to get 2 million asap to get acsess to Import Export.

i mean, thanks to casino heist its easier to give friends 85% to boost their business, but hell it takes really long for them to understand certain purchase options.

Dude's a shameless plagiarist - and has been for years. And because there's no accountability for YouTubers for all but the most damning stuff (and even then, YouTube is really slack about doing anything about complaints), it's not like there's anything anyone can do about it. :turn:

I just got to the point where I'd wait on doing things like sharing info, car pics/customisation, etc., so that Ross and Austin ("SaintsFan") would have already made videos on those subjects before I posted anything here - so for instance, I'd hold off posting stuff in car appreciation threads until after Austin made an inevitable vid nicking other people's ideas, so that he wouldn't nick mine (and use other people's screenshots as thumbnails with neither permission or attribution... :die:).

That's one silver lining for being largely done with GTAO (in specific - and with R* games in general): I can't think of another game I play where the most prominent YooToobers are such trash, and it's been a breath of fresh air interacting with communities that don't have cheap, scammy garbage among the biggest and most vocal names in them. :sigh:

won the car spinning the wheel in the casino, selected a garage and it was full

while examing the garage list to decide where I should put my new car, the selection screen timed out, and from what people tell me, I lost the car I just won.

inexcusible game mechanics, it gave me less than 2 minutes before it timed out.  i know it won't hurt Rockstar if I quit the game, but this is pretty much my final straw, i'm level 350 with 130M in the bank and so there's just not much left to do anyways in the game.

I usually just grind solo and its not all that much fun, its more like a nice way to fill my day.  The game world itself is pretty astounding in its realism, i think that's the only reason I've played it this long.  Gameplay itself is very repetitive and boring for the most part.

It's a key reason I don't spread my wings regarding social media. There's just too much crap and I don't trust myself with the internet properly really as I'm such a noob, ha ha. I enjoy it here as it's largely just GTA/RDR chat, but seeing many move on I enjoyed reading takes it's toll too. Fortunately some of you guys are still here though.

As I said to Spider Vice once, I'd sooner get an assumption wrong here and apologise/learn better than look elsewhere where that info may have more meat to it to understand if it means I don't have to sieve through that crap.

But yeah, I understand what you mean and where you and many are with this game (or RDRO/R* as a whole even). For me, this game is just a bit like a comfy pair of slippers and fills a gap really thanks to invite only mostly. I enjoy my cars after all. Me being a serious gamer is becoming a thing of the past as I find other pleasures and hobbies. While I can enjoy this game and have a few buddies that play still, it is all fading for me and RDRO has really turned me off in regards to where these games are going unfortunately.

The potential is there to draw me back of course, just can't see it ever reached now though. The arena here and this whole forced public only stuff in RDRO (and likely GTA:O's future) really puts me off too much to invest into it all properly like I could here in GTA up till now. Still, I had fun. :)

I feel a more philosophical about the YouTuber situation after reading some of the comments posted today. Isn't that what we all do? Read through yesterday's news and then post our own comments as way of summarizing everything that's been digested before, using that information to make our own point and draw attention to ourselves? Don't we plagiarize each other all the time on these forums?

So why do I feel so disgusted about a YouTuber doing exactly that? Probably because they attempt to make money out of other people's efforts without asking permission first, which means there's no recourse for discussion or comeback.

The fact is, I don't read the gutter press and never have. There are multiple channels that I avoid because I get my news from more honorable and reputable sources, so if Daily Trash publishes an article about Prince X having an affair with Prostitute Y, who cares because I never get to read it anyway. So, with that in my mind and with my nose firmly pontificated in the air, let the gutter press write what it wants.

Thanks to everyone on these forums for posting/warning about these nauseating gutter press YouTubers, enabling the rest of us to block and avoid them.

@Jenkiiii made a great point.

When I find a great post, picture, video or meme made by someone else, I share it, I quote it, I post it, whatever and I always try to point out the source (unless I forget by mistake).

Would the world end if I didn't? Of course not, but it's just a mere act of courtesy, he provided me with something to share, I'll pay him back with some recognition and exposure, simple as that.

I guess that people wouldn't be so mad at BossmanFunkZaWarudo if he, at the very least, at the sheer minimum, just credited his sources for both his video subjects and thumbnails.

I'm not even talking about asking for permission even, although that would be way better of course, just for him to give credit when it's due.

While I can't condone something as abhorrent as clickbait, at least I can understand why he and everyone else does it, it brings the big bux after all, but it's all worth it in exchange for your own reputation, credibility and dignity though?

I don't think so.

He could do better, he should do better, he must do better.

Edited by YELLOW ZOOMER WITH DRONE
And that's without mentioning his other nefatorious acts, like allegedly doxxing people or hiring modders for protection, but that's another whole can of worms

It's great that you're not an asshole. Unfortunately, the game is chock full of assholes. If I see a Mk II flying my way, I either stop and get out of my (regular, cheap) car, or I put my head between my legs and kiss my ass goodbye, because the percentage of Mk IIs that will fly by without taking the easy kill on you is extremely low.

I know it can be fun and useful for stuff other than PvP (though personally I think it makes the game far too easy; its very existence invalidates the use of nearly any other vehicle, which is a problem in and of itself).  But in a PvP context specifically, it is a game-ruiner. And since they lock most of their content to public free roam, and give everyone all kinds of incentive to kill each other all the time--well. It was just a bad addition to the game when considered in totality. If it wasn't for all of that, it would still be a cheap pay2win piece of junk, but it wouldn't be genuinely enraging.

In conclusion: anyone out there that makes a point of using their Mk II to nuke a level 20-something in a goddamn Frogger is a bad human being. But the game devs who made it so very easy for you are even worse.

Post-conclusion: my only financial goal for the immediate future is to save enough to buy a Ruiner, with which I will run Fully Loaded as often as possible and just go Mk II hunting. If they're going to make their game into nothing but trolling, I have no particular interest in doing anything except trolling the trolls.

I want to make a hypothesis here, offered from two perspectives. The first is as a very new GTAO player. Although I have been playing GTA religiously since 2001 with GTA III, even though I only went online the first time around the 10th of last month. My second perspective is as someone who is intimately familiar with how freemium games work, and how the in-game economy functions to screw over the average player in hope to facilitate purchasing of microtransactions. Even though technically GTAO isn't a freemium game, since you have to purchase it retail, the online component of the game functions with that intrinsically corrupt business model.

The game is literally designed to waste the player's time as much as possible. Example: I was selling my weed business in two UPS vans, with a friend who was helping me. After spending a long time driving from the desert to the dropoff, some tool with an oppressor blew the vans up. It wasn't like we even had an ability to really defend ourselves from griefers, in that instance. But the game wasted both our time trying the mission, not to mention the time wasted grinding for the $75K to restock the business, the going to the business, registering as a MC President, etc. In many ways, I believe that this game is intentionally meant to be a time waster. When Rockstar devs make it so easy for so much of a player's time to be literally flushed down the toilet, so easily, into futility, what could possibly be the motivation of the devs? Simple: reduce fun to enough of a feeling of futility to hopefully tempt the player into buying Shark Cards to try and mitigate all that wasted time and in-game money flushed down the toilet.

This is not to say I'm against GTAO or Shark Cards. The problem comes, however, when gameplay and fun are subordinated to IAP sales. There is a huge conflict of interest in this game the devs seem to be immersed in. At least in my opinion. Fun is clamped down upon so as to foster an environment where, to a great multitude of gullible players, it will invariably seem like they need to make real money investments into their GTAO saves/profiles in order to build their characters. The reason I know this is that even after only like a month and 10ish days online, it seems to obvious to me that Rockstar made a ton of bonehead decisions in this game that in my estimation are intended to slow player's progress building their "empires" to make Shark Cards more attractive. If this were another company, and not Rockstar, I would just categorically assume that some of these decisions are down to developer stupidity and developer laziness. But Rockstar North arguably has the best dev team on the planet, particularly those working on GTA/RDR games. So that isn't it. My hypothesis, then, is that these things are purposely coded to unscrupulously manipulate very naive players into spending money. Basically its meant to troll the players like myself, who aren't looking for a fight and just want to play in peace, in the hopes that we will get just frustrated enough to buy shark cards, but not so frustrated we rage quit lol.

Because what do you do after your supplies are destroyed by a griefer, who, by the way technically isn't really a griefer, because the game TELLS THEM to go after us? Rockstar wants this to happen. So what did I end up doing? I two friends in the room, me being the weakest of the players in combat. And for the first time, I used my MK2 as a weapon, and we went after this guy. I killed him a bunch of times, he killed me a bunch of times. Ha I actually held my own. lol My buddies did a lot better in the fighting, being a lot more experienced. But here's the thing. After 20 minutes of this revenge seeking, what did I have to show for it? Nothing. My supplies were still gone, and other than a momentary sense of satisfaction at getting revenge, not only did I waste the time in my failed deliveries, but even worse, I got sucked into wasting 20 more minutes in vengeance. Anyway, just my wacky thoughts. Its still mostly a fun game, but it isn't meant to be too much fun. If it were the game would be balanced that way.

Bingo. And that's not just your opinion, FWIW. It drove me off the game after countless hours dedicated to it. Some people don't see this or pretend not to, but the game is not primarily designed to be fun. Fun is a secondary consideration and they make it only fun enough in many instances so that you won't turn it off entirely. Like many online games now, it's mainly meant to be addictive and to offer shortcuts you pay for.
