Unlike all of the children, I'm a tactical player. While they're all playing head-on, guns blazing nonsense, I'll be playing strategically. That and anybody unduly targeting me is in for a very bad time, at the hands of either of a Heavy Sniper, Insurgent Pickup Custom or Akula. While I always prefer to work cooperatively for business battles and other freemode work, if you attack me, you shouldn't be surprised when the favour is returned fifteenfold; this is one of the biggest contributors to that KDR value.

Being the dinosaur amongst the kids does have its advantages I guess 😅

If this is true you okay a lot like me hen.  I retreat from attackers and set traps as they come for me.

One of the thing that kills online for me is the in-game economy. The vehicle catalogue is all over the map in regards to what should be expensive and what shouldn't be. We have new vehicles that come out and only cost 1-2 million and yet we still have vehicles from launch that cost 4-6 million but are essentially obsolete thanks to the new vehicles. It would cost too much time and money for someone at Rockstar to go through and re-evaluate the vehicles' costs and make adjustments, but it would have been nice if someone had thought of that from the very beginning. Once the DLC roadmap was laid out, price adjustments could have been made as they went to at least lower some of the older vehicles' costs.

Personally, I like to play games for fun and to achieve objectives; some given by the game and some I assign myself. But the economy of the game makes GTAO feel more like a job than an escape, which curbs some of my desire to play Online.

No more NAT Type in Xbox, only 26+ players lobbies and my internet connection isn´t that good (plus more worries when selling businesses, especially CEO crates)

discord and twitch et al. no one chats in the game anymore. the entire family used to gather to listen to the folks' crying, yelling, ignoring their babies and beggin their mothers for a credit card. now.... silence. it's a lot more fun when you can hear people melting down.

The Mk2, flying cars etc. Kids. Auto invite/match making is getting slower everyday. Rockstars attitude, it feels as if they're laughing at us now. The game has turned into a kids trash party. No wonder bosses quit. Not nearly enough contact missions added either and they patch harmless glitches like the spawn point glitch in death matches or the hood up while wearing a hat glitch, yet they wont patch God mode or accessing weapons in melee matches cheats etc. Sigh. I used to love this game. I just hope they don't wreck GTA 6.

You see what they did to RDO? Probably best to consider GTA 6 wrecked.

Who knows? Perhaps we'll be pleasantly surprised.

For me it's just the unbalanced game economy. We have low-mid range cars from the base game that cost a reasonable 17k then we have low-mid range cars from dlc updates that cost 700k. Who the f*ck pays 700k for a f*cking Lincoln Navigator I mean c'mon rockstar stop being asshats.

They raised the price of it, or did I misremember the price? Well either way that's an insane price for an average SUV that in reality cost what like 50k or so?

That hardly anyone participates in jobs. I accepted this. Then I started only playing freemode.

I killed players. Destroyed their cargo and whatnot.

There was a message telling me to do so to earn cash and rp.

Now the payment in both was very low but the hate towards me rose high.

Hate messages. Griefers coming for revenge.

Gta online is a battlezone. Shoot on sight.

You're right, the game is no fun at all. Can't even destroy someone's cargo without every modder in the session coming after you and either kicking you from the game, setting you on fire, or worse.

This game is not made to be fun, this game is made to get people addicted and make the developers rich by selling you microtransactions.

Sure, the game tells you to destroy cargo. Why? So players don't make too much money and keep buying Shark Cards.

It is called "Developer Sanctioned Griefing", where the developers encourage players to destroy each other's progress, and most players won't do it because they feel it is wrong.

The most expensive cargo shipments you can destroy can be over 2 million and destroying them only gives you $2,000.

It takes full days of grinding to even get a shipment like that together (large crate warehouse). Try it for yourself.

If you want to make big money, buy the Kosatka submarine and learn the Cayo Perico heist (guides available on this forum)

For your initial capital, I'd join heists. Making money in public freemode sessions is a lost cause, apart from some VIP work, collectibles, and treasure hunts.

There's also the option to play in Invite-Only freemode sessions, where you can do heist preps and VIP work in peace.

Gee I was blind. So stupid. And here I was thinking Rockstar doesn't do mictotransactions.

I really asked myself who actually buys sharkcards. But this makes sense.

Players turning on each other.

Every new dlc and stuff is FREE but you got to pay millions and millions.

@Fadgaba-Jones

While I agree with @AirWolf359 in theory, in practice it is a whole different animal.

Heisting with randoms is the road to madness. Most randoms are so mind-blowingly, jaw-droppingly, your-mother-should-have-aborted-you stupid that it beggars the imagination. From OG Heists to DD to Casino, randoms will fail them 90% of the time, in every way possible. I speak from vast experience.

OG heists pay very little by today's standards, and rare indeed is the Host who will give more than a 15% cut. Some will try to give you even less than that. OG heists should not even be considered as money-makers.

DD is much worse - long, tedious with artificially inflated difficulty in the form of hypertough aimbot bad guys that will in some cases respawn right behind you and drop you before you can say "aww shi-". I wouldn't recommend those at all.

As for Casino, the issue there is the sheer difficulty of getting into one. You can literally spend hours getting kicked, getting network errors (forcing you to dashboard) & having the Host leave the planning board. On top of that, a staggering number of Hosts skip vital preps or use "wrong" approaches, so even when you finally get into one, you'll find the Host has effectively doomed the heist to failure. For the handful that do succeed, very often the alarm is triggered, meaning less time in the vault (thus, less loot taken) and more money lost to bullets.  Then, to add insult to injury, there is a 60 minute cooldown before you can join another one. While ostensibly DCH offers better payouts, the difficulty getting into one, the failure rate & the cooldown mean that you'll never see your optimal earn rate. In fact, you'll often spend hours making no money at all.

Case in point, I started queuing for a DCH while typing this. After about 15 mins, I got into one (much faster than usual, btw). Bugstars, cash, Host gave 20% cuts (ironically, beware the DCH host who gives more than 15% - they are very likely desperate for people to stay because they've already failed it a dozen times). We arrive, Host has skipped L2 Security Passes & Duggan Shipments preps. Someone triggers the alarm before we even get to the office, two guys are killed by the first guards that they run into. Restart, some asshat starts dropping tear gas in Ms Baker's office, alarm is triggered, someone quits on the spot. I started typing this paragraph when we left the Arcade, & it was over before I got halfway through. This is pretty standard fare for DCH runs with randoms.

As for Cayo Perico, for a start anyone who knows what they're doing won't bring randoms in the first place. For those that do, all the DCH issues are there, plus the delightful "Your CEO quit" bug that happens almost every time. I gave up on Cayo with randoms almost immediately.

Lol, quick sidebar - into another DCH. Silent & Sneaky, didn't see take or cuts because the screen bugged out. Host shoots the valet upon arrival, triggering the alarm. No L2 Security Passes or Duggan Shipments preps. We get in and never make it out of the Staff Lobby. And now I'm getting "No active DCH found" every 45 seconds.

Unfortunately, there are only three legit ways to work up seed money for the Kosatka (that don't involve public freeroam f*ckery):

1. Solo Contact missions. It is a guaranteed income, but incredibly tedious. 2.2 million in increments of approx 20K a pop. Coming in at around 100K per hour, you're looking at over 20 hours of grinding. Ouch.

2. That-Which-Shall-Not-Be-Named. This is the one R* wants you to do. It's evil and feeds the machine, but it's instant.

3. Get somebody to stake you. Essentially, this means getting a friend to take you along on couple of Cayo Perico runs & give you a giant cut. As you can imagine, this requires your friend to give up a couple of hours for you for very little personal return, but if they're willing, it's a very fast way and you can always pay them back once you're up & running with your own Cayos.

If you don't have a friend willing & able, you can always try here - I consider Forumers to be a cut above the average GTA player and I'm sure there are one or two who might be prepared to help. Hell, if you (or anyone reading) are on Xbox, I'll do it - you don't even have to pay me back; consider it my contribution to the war against microtransactions (a lost cause, I know, but I'm Gen X - we love lost causes).

Whichever way you choose, I wish you the best of luck.

Sorry, I should have been more detailed on which heists to join. I have recently been quite succesful in prison break and Humane Labs.

Those are relatively safe to join, if you know what you're doing and if the host speaks your language. If not, better stay out. I also quit from plenty of them before they start, because host no speak english.

The only problem is there are 4 people all the time, and anyone could fail at any time. If someone fails, don't get mad, just ask them what happened.

Spoiler

Most prison breaks don't actually fail because the ground team dies, but because the plane gets critically damaged.

There's 2 players on the ground team, they can work together, maybe they'll die once or twice, but they usually figure it out. It doesn't doom your mission.

It is far more important that you have a good pilot (yes, I know, it looks boring) who won't crash the plane, eat a missile, or run it over a teammate, and doesn't sh*t himself after nearly ramming into a police car on takeoff. This is far more dangerous to your mission. Rookie pilots will sometimes lose their cool and still crash after close encounters.

As for Humane labs, anyone can be gunner, as long as the pilot keeps his cool and knows how to handle a helicopter.

Ground team just needs to be able to find their rebreathers.

And it's always better if you know someone to play them with, of course.

You can also start up your Fleeca job (after reaching level 12), NOT complete it, and just keep going on call through the phone for a heist. This will always put you in a Fleeca lobby.

I'd stay away from Pacific Standard. That one usually comes with a n00b who will ruin it, whether it's the host not knowing about the Heavy Vest and not setting player saved outfits, or Rambo who "doesn't need one" and dies every time.

Casino with randoms is a lost cause for reasons mentioned above, stay out.

Cayo Perico with randoms, I never tried. I find stealth missions easier solo.

Doomsday heist is relatively safe to join, as in you won't get kicked, but I'd stay away from act 3. Act 1 and Act 2 finale are relatively straightforward.

If you get in a setup for act 2, make sure at least the host knows what he's doing (ask for tips and if he's done it before)

Too much money, not enough content.
Boredom

Every part of the game is designed to be tedious
Mobile game mechanics
There are much better online games out now. Sea of Thieves, No Mans Sky, ESO etc.

Playing SoT in its current state made me realise how shallow GTAO is. For example,  I got a Quest last night to deliver some Cargo, just generic cargo nothing special. I spent an hour doing the Quest, I got caught in two storms, found a sunken ship that I raided for treasure and gems, found a boss skeleton on a random island that I blew apart with my ship cannons, he had a map that led me to more buried treasure and by the time I swung into Port I had about ten grand worth of treasure and Cargo on my ship.

All dynamic, random events that fed into each other and all without seeing another player.

Initially, I didn't need to spend a fortune buying into the Merchants Alliance unlike in GTAO. I think the first licence costs a hundred Gold coins and you make that back in ONE Voyage. You buy better licences as you level up, rewarding you for actually playing the game. You can't just jump into the Guilds even if you have a fortune.

As well as all content being solo friendly and all players getting paid the same amount for Quest completion no matter their Guild level.

Oh, and you know what the best part of SoT is?

No f*cking timers!

It took me an hour to complete a single Quest, just delivering some Cargo from one Port to another. Not once did I see a timer or get a warning I was about to fail the Quest because of nothing more than some arbitrary timer. The only conditions you have the conditions the cargo arrives in, fabrics getting wet or bottles smashing etc, and even then you still get paid, just less.

Correction, you have to deliver cargo by a certain day but you have like three or four in game days to deliver the cargo which is well over an IRL hour.

I joined a lobby for the first time in weeks, maybe even months, last night and thought yeah, let’s just chill out, drive around in my Ellie... just from the casino to Vespucci canals alone I died 3 times, all to Oppressors, just preying on folk literally going about their business.

Giving young folk easy tools to let out their anger by griefing strangers is what ruined this game. It’s not like I haven’t got an Oppressor myself or play passive 24/7, but I really don’t have the energy to chase down an Oppressor that has homing missiles on Cloud Simulator 2021: Grinding DLC.

i constantly have to check KDs to see what type of player im protecting myself from. its tedious but kind of exhilarating because i use same tech they use; suicide, orb, nightshark, toreador, opressor

@Raynos

this also ruined the game. we have kids who grief/troll then grown adults doing the same thing its sad

killing/destroying CEO vehicle work is SPORTLESS. most missions are AI OP and now here you are trolling as more AI.

the person is trying to avoid damage to the car but you already knew this cuz you have nothing better to do

imagine saying "thers no sport in killing nightclub deliveries"

after just saying you grief business battles

those are NIGHTCLUB DELIVERIES

and thers AI at the place and AI who chase you SMH

gotta love how griefers contradict themselves

notice how they have a specific set of rules/codes they go by but never adhere to them cuz griefiiing isnt logical

Read my post again. I specifically said that I don’t blow up CEO vehicles, I try to steal them. I don’t think it is unreasonable to expect at least some player versus player interaction in this game, and stealing cars from each other is at least within the spirit of “Grand Theft Auto”

And by their very nature, fighting each other in a “Business Battle” is pretty much doing what it says on the tin. The clue is in the name. It isn’t griefing.

Ridiculous militarization

Alien weapons

Oppressor

Hero's that are suppose to save the world?

Lack of traditional GTA things

Incentivized griefing

uninspired DLC's and missions

People failing Fleeca, a TUTORIAL HEIST, should tell you everything you need to know about the average IQ of randoms.
