AmyStone
If you encounter a hostile posse (usually large pink or red ones) and they attack you then do not parley. If you do then you might end up in a more vulnerable position than you were already. Over the weekend and again last night we encountered a few pink posses who decided to attack us. We parleyed with them straight away but about 20 seconds later they were able to kill us again and to make things worse we were unable to fire back. It was as if our side of the parley was working but they had managed to break theirs. The only thing we could do in each case was jump sessions (the posse leader doing a quick join on a showdown to remove the whole posse from the session) and then loading back into a fresh session. I’m going to raise a ticket with Rockstar (but don’t expect them to do anything quickly) so my advice is for everyone to avoid using parley and just jump to a new session. Lonely-Martin
Yep. Kills the game really. Just haven't been able to fully embrace this game, especially the co-op/social aspects of online gaming as I trust no-one because R* are too cheap to fix things and want this tacky one size fits all lobby system which can obviously only favour the griefers that they truly enabled in GTA:O. Who would have thought many would come to RDRO and continue where they left off, lol. Knowing these workarounds to be a thorn in a players side is like candy to a baby. It was inevitable there'd be exploits and such like this. netnow66
No Homing
Yeah heard of this before, seen it on video. It's basically GM for the attacking posse. Sounds like a nightmare to me. Lonely-Martin

I hope this is a legit bug that can be easily fixed with a patch and not hostile players using hacks or whatever to get around the system and continue harassing other players. I don't use the parley option anyway (gives griefers too much satisfaction imo), but still good to know & be aware of stuff like this. Ghoffman9
Were you on PC? If so the most probable cause is hackers creating a script to getting around it and script kiddies downloading it.

RyuNova
The entire system can suck my dick. I get killed while minding my own business with no hostility, choose the "Leave me alone" option and I am the one who gets removed from the town? Seriously? f*ck off, cunts. I am the one who gets spawned in the middle of nowhere a mile away from town when I did nothing wrong while f*cking f*ck-knuckle and his gaggle of cackling cunts receive no penalty or hindrance. And people wonder why others say that R* encourages griefing. BUT THE BENZ, 4eyedcoupe and Lonely-Martin

I think the last 2 patches failed to pick this up too, which is troubling. Hopefully it's fixed, but I lost faith long ago as R* are determined to make this a pew pew PvP game more and more it seems. This is one of my biggest gripes. They don't even honour your offline status and friends can still join on you if you're hiding offline. They do honour it in GTA but they don't in Red Dead. I've even raised a ticket about it but they say it's how they designed it. I've blocked plenty of people but they still appear in my sessions. netnow66

The only way around it would have to be in your posse. Now, if you play with friends who are not taking their privacy seriously such as not blocking rando friend invites not appearing offline. They are joining off your friends. GTAO is far worse...you only have to friend a person in your crew. Then you can literally select a person who has you blocked and join on them directly. The only thing GTAO does better is it would not allow a random to join on you if you are appearing online. In RDO, a random can join you without being your friend as long as you appear online...no friend invite needed. There are multiple threads with people complaining that they cannot shake a griefer despite everyone supposedly in the crew blocking him. They would not leave the crew or boot people from their crew. Which was kindve rich. This is the 2nd biggest reason to not play in organized groups. Your group is what makes you vulnerable because they wont just play offline or block randos. And, to my knowledge, I've never had to block someone twice. I've never been attacked by the same player twice but, admittedly, I play in glitched lobbies most of the time. I can appreciate what you and others are reporting as being true--but I will continue to block and report as there is nothing else available for me to even try to do in this situation. Since it arrived, I've never not been defensive, lol. There's a long standing glitch where players can skip the parley cool down and continue attacking a player, weather that player is defensive or not unfortunately. As with anything though, R*'s snail pace at reacting to this stuff only allows it to grow. As shown by GTA, it'll soon become a wider spread griefer go-to. But then again, that'll teach us for thinking R* have sought to improve, cheap bastards. Edited July 10, 2020 by Lonely-Martin

Rarely am I bothered with, and the rare few times I am they get laid out with my sawed off and I go on with my day. Most at that point get the picture and leave me alone. Players in these games are cowards by nature and prey upon those who are the most friendly among us, preferably by suckering punching you or waiting till your back is turned. Without defensive this is a common occurrence. Using defensive, I can go for as long as several weeks or more without ever getting shot at once. Everyone at this point in the game's life has caught on for the most part and its only ever low ranks who take shots cause they don't know better. Still no excuse to leave broken aspects to grow as it is proven it will, lol. But I don't expect this farce to be fixed any better or quicker than GTA, as the way R* do has proven they're too big to fail and can afford be so poor in these regards. As I said, it's cheap and that's the grand plan after all.

When it comes to calling them out on their sh*t I am one of the original pioneers on this forum. Everyone at first refused to believe or thought I was making mountains out of molehills. I warned them of that slippery slope and now here we are rock bottom. Rockstar are not going to give a sh*t on their own, you gotta make them give a sh*t and there is only one way you can. Being a fanboy who blindly throws money at a developer breeds complacency. Happened to Rockstar, happened to Bethesdas, happened to pretty much all of them. Vote with your damn wallet. After GTA:O, I had hopes they'd use RDRO to show they had in fact learned much and looked to improve in many ways, so I gave this a good chance. It's all on the next DLC for me now, sink or swim time. Regarding their story modes, no complaints and much praise there, but this online feels like a backward step more than anything and I already know my freeloading ways are no longer welcome, lol. We'll see and hopefully with Amy bringing this topic up we may see those small improvements, but I've all but lost faith to be fair. One can only hope now. He didn't just report a player for cheating but is badgering them to explain how the posse was allowed to do this and what we can do to stop our gameplay being disrupted. I think they have replied a few times now and has been moved up a level or two so it seems like someone might look at this. At least he's talking to a human now and got past all the automated replies. I've also raised a ticket for the same thing (with a clear video link showing exactly what happened). They hate having tickets open and Mark is like a dog with a bone and won't let them close it until they give a decent response. He did this with the horse issue a few months ago and within a week it was actually fixed in the game. It may have just been a coincidence but if we all keep annoying them with tickets then things might get done.
