djb204 Posted July 8, 2020 Share Posted July 8, 2020 I jumped into Red Dead Online today (first time in a long time). I was playing solo just wondering around with no apparent goal. I was approaching Emerald Ranch from the south when I saw the train leaving Emerald Station. It didn’t look right, the terrain in the background appeared visible through the train. My first thought was this had to be a draw distance issue so I proceeded to close the distance and road towards the train at top speed. Nothing changed as I got closer. The train still appeared see-through. I galloped along side the train and hopped on. Once on board I navigated my way to the head of the train, but I was unable to set harm the driver nor set foot on the head car. I fell through to the tracks/ground and was killed by the cars/carts behind me (which I was able to interact with). Is this a glitch? or are their ghost trains in Online? in all my time playing RDO (level 200 plus) this is my first time experiencing this. Rev. STNeish Posted July 27, 2020 Share Posted July 27, 2020 I believe there IS supposed to be a ghost train, but I think it was supposed to be just in the story mode... though it would still be appropriate as an easter egg in the online mode. If it IS supposed to be there, you saw something rare! If it's not, then it was just a hacker spawning something that wasn't supposed to be there. DentureDynamite Posted July 27, 2020 Share Posted July 27, 2020 (edited) FWIW (in the short time I was able to play before RDO froze and crashed on me) trains last night were spawning/despawning much faster than usual. Not sure if it's related, but it wouldn't surprise me if the ghost train was a bug--in addition to the cheater-spawned ones.
