Started a new play-through - story-mode is far greater than online.

Decided to start a new play-through with the three day weekend over 4th of July.

I put 14 hours in, have the game at 33%, and I am still in chapter 2. In fact, I don't even know that Micah is in jail and I still haven't gone to collect the debt from that poor Mr. Dowens yet!!

 

Story-mode is far more fun than online right now...

Yes it is, by a long shot!  SP is where all the money was spent, and it shows.  My buddy plays only MP, never touched SP, and I just smh - I'm like 'you're missing 99% of the game you paid for!'.

Online has it's place but yeah, I agree.  He's missing out.

Significantly, it's not even close, lol.

 

Maybe online gets better in time, but it has had close to 2 years and is still this far behind.

 

Though personally, as it stands, I do genuinely hope online fails going forward a bit to be honest. It'll be the only way R*/T2 learn not to take the piss so much in future online games. But alas, they know they're too big to fail, lol.

 

This story mode though is right up there with the best R* has ever created. The last Red Dead was amazing and to see the franchise get even better is awesome. Fishing especially being a cracking addition to the franchise, so relaxing and enjoyable along with a good ol' hunt.

As it should be. The day the industry puts more emphasis toward online is the day I hang up my controller.

Nothing is too big to fail but the customers have to make it happen.

 

The biggest problem I have with online is how slow they drop new content. It's been over 6 months since PC launched and 8 months, more or less, since Moonshiner update dropped, and there has been no new role updates or anything of substance. You can get all your roles up to 20 in 2-4 weeks depending on how much you play. After that, you're just spinning wheels waiting for new things to do. So many players stop playing between updates and many never come back. I don't see how R* thinks this drip feed is doing them good.

 

I do agree that SP is exceptional. I've played through it twice, getting to 100% the second time through and I'm contemplating a third play through.
