Which jet should I buy for PVP?

Hello everyone, I was playing GTA online today and grabbed my deluxo to kill MK2 griefers and dodge their rockets, but then the MK2 griefer called his friend with a lazer with explosive bullets and I got bamboozled and spawn killed, and since I like to win dog fights I've decided it's time to buy a jet

So ye, my main 2 picks are Hydra and Lazer, I only got 1.6 million GTA$ right now but I can grind my way using casino heist so money isn't really a problem, So which one of these 2 jets do you recommend me for dog fights? and are there any better jets for dog fights than those?

Dogfights are not the only reason I want to buy a jet, I also want a jet to use to spawn kill griefers too if that's possible, I also want to use it to kill MK2 griefers and outrun/dodge their rockets and at the same time not kiss a skyscraper, And also keep in mind I will be using a keyboard and a mouse, not a controller

 

So ye, which one do you recommend me? and if you got something better in mind that can also kill on foot targets then tell me down in the comments, also if you have any better keybindings for using jets than the default ones, feel free to tell me in the comments

I would advise not buying a Lazer, just buy a hanger in Zancudo and borrow one from just outside.

They are quite simular in dogfights, the lazer is marginally more agile but the Hydra is more stable with a higher top speed, it also has VTOL so it is a much more usefull multi purpose vehicle.

So I would buy the hanger and use the Lazer for free and maybe buy the hydra in your situation

The newer planes are more fun in a dogfight if the player you are fighting is in a equally matched plane but the hydra and lazer have instant kill explosive machine guns which are kinda op.

I play on PC but use a X box controller mainly because of the driving and definatly flying.

Buy the Lazer, don't listen to those who say you can just steal a Lazer from Fort Zancudo, they obviously don't spend most of their time dogfighting in this game. The Lazer is considerably more agile than the hydra when you know what you are doing.

 

The ability to spawn your Lazer close by is a game changer especially when people are on your ass, you will get killed more often than not trying to get to Fort Zancudo just to steal a jet. My last bit of advice, join or start jet deathmatches as often as possible to get your skills up.

Lazer, definitely.

 

It is very expensive but worth it because it's a very OP vehicle. You could use the 10% Lifeinvader Warstock discount on it if you still have it.

 

In some aspects other jets are better, but in terms of weapon power it can't be beat. You won't be spawnkilling people with a Pyro, for example. The Lazer is also more maneuverable than the Hydra.

 

For keyboard I would put the pitch controls on Ctrl/Shift, so you can rotate the camera with the mouse while still being able to pitch and yaw with your left hand. You might also want to consider replacing A/D that is yaw by default with roll, but for me personally that was a change I was not able to adjust to after using the default controls for so long. Note that you can use mouse flying for small adjustments as well, but you obviously can't use the mouse for flying and adjusting the camera at the same time.

The Lazer is a collosal waste of money when you can get them for free at Zancudo if you own a Hangar.

 

Grind for the Lazer, buy a Hydra and then buy the hangar with the spare change.

Nah. It's not a waste of money. If you're serious about PvP, the time spent stealing Lazers adds up.

Buy a zancudo hanger,  Hanger quarters and workshop,  They’re reduced at moment, (you can park your free ultralight in it)  there’s pretty much always 3 or 4 lasers parked outside. You only get 2 stars stealing them so you don’t get shot down before wheels up. Fly the arse off them free ones, whilst you grind for a hydra. Then you can do your own comparison. Sometime in next few months I’m sure laser will be half price. (IMO even at half price, it’s still 3 million too much for a plane that you can steal for free. but you can console yourself by painting it hot pink)

I don’t do enough jet pvp to say it’s worth spending 6 million to avoid a 3 mile drive but the personal aircraft spawn points never seem
