How to you manual save in PS3's GTA 5?

Hi there,

 

I am starting to play GTA 5 on PS3 and it seems to have problem auto save.  It will auto save only after 4 or 5 missions.  Since I only have one hour to play each day, I never reach the point of auto save.  How can I manual save on PS3's GTA 5?  The cell phone trick doesn't work on PS3, it only works on PS4.
