How to you manual save in PS3's GTA 5?

Hi there,

 

I am starting to play GTA 5 on my PS3 recently.  I found the game doesn't auto save the progress after each missions.  You always have to complete 4 or 5 missions before it will save.  This is very frustrating as I only have one hour to play each day.  Is there any way I can manually save the game on the PS3?  The cell phone trick doesn't work with the PS3 version, it only works on PS4.  Thanks.

If you can not use the Quick Save on your phone, you'll have to go to a bed in one of your safehouses. Sleep on it to save the game.

Go to your safe house and sleep. The game will be saved
