So, I was bored at work, and threw together a short list of stuff I'd love to see them do with RDO.  I thought I'd post it here for your amusement, and to see if anyone knows where I should post it so they might actually SEE it...?

Let us choose the exact location for our camp.
Let us choose the specific parts of the camp individually (eg. Collector tent, Trader table).
Let us lie down on the bed/cot to rest.
Let us make Cripps SHUT UP.  Marcel, too.  Either that, or allow us to SHOOT them.

Let us use lower tier coats on higher tier horses (eg. Red Chestnut Arabian coat on Black or White Arabian), or let us upgrade the lower tier horses.
Let us sell wild horses or domesticate them (for a fee).

Let us TRAIN horses to excel in particular stats (eg. to be good at tolerating predators, or to be fast in sprints, or to have excellent stamina - but only one at a time).
Let us buy passenger wagons (small and large).  Larger wagons might even be a source of income, transporting people.
Let horses follow routes while aiming, JUST as wagons do.  Presently, they'll more or less follow the route, but will as readily run off a cliff.

Make WALKING the default for 1st person, just as it is in 3rd person.

Let us sell or discard unwanted weapons.
Give us military uniforms (Cripps can get one, why not US?).

Let us take off our HAT without having to go to the horse.  Even if it means dropping it on the ground.

Let us bind an emote (one would be enough) to a single keystroke/button, for immediate use (for waving, tipping your hat or some other emote to indicate you're not a threat to other players).  Needing to AIM at a player to begin the emote process is DANGEROUS, because it might be seen as hostile.

Let us IN all the houses and other sites that are open to Story mode.
Let us do missions from Story mode that are not specifically Arthur or John story missions (eg. snakebit guy).
Put characters from Story mode in the appropriate places (eg. Downes family on their ranch).
Let us interact with NPCs in more meaningful ways (eg. saying hello, flirting with the girls in the saloons).
Let us BATHE.

Let it SNOW in the snowy areas instead of raining.  We have dust storms in New Austin, why not snow in the Grizzlies?
Let there be PASSENGER trains.
Let there be HOUSING in significant towns (eg. St. Denis, Blackwater, Valentine, Armadillo, Strawberry...).

Give us better beards!  Ideally, let our beards grow as they do in story mode.

Give us other games within the game... things like Blackjack, Roulette, and the like.  Also, can we get a better version of Poker, perhaps 5 card draw?

KILL ALL HACKERS.  Seriously, the hacking is literally killing the game.  Players (ie. CUSTOMERS) are quitting because of it, and I've no doubt the game is less stable because of it, which ALSO drives customers away.

Let Collector items appear RANDOMLY.  There's very little sense of discovery if the same things are always in the same places.
Bounties need to pay better.
Create a Lawman role, where we can be a Deputy, then Sheriff, then Federal Marshal; perhaps as an addendum (Story missions?) to the Bounty Hunter role.
Enough with the TIMERS.  If it makes sense, fine, but not every mission needs to be timed.
I really hate that patrons enter our Saloons through the distillery.  That's not safe or smart!  Give the Saloon a separate entrance.
Some new tunes for out band would be nice.  Also, some clothing alternatives for them would be nice.

Give our characters VOICES.  Even if there's just one male and one female, that would be enough to say hello and such.

exactly this. would love that. in addition i would like to have a dog house or he can come into my tent and for the horse also a makeshift roof. i feel really pitty when it rains (and it rains bloody all the time) for my friends to be left in rain,

Excellent ideas!

And if we have to pay gold for these options...well, what else are we saving for?

Free aim lobbies with all blips on radar, makes things easier and not a hide and seek game. If your aim is good no need to worry about point blank attacks.

Squatters/occupants approaching you when looting abandoned homes

knockouts not death

actual free roam events not changing lobbies just teleport To the area like the first game

king of the hill in free roam. LAND GRAB

Never show gamer tags unless you aim or intend to kill. We are all strangers, no need to look at someone’s level before to boost your confidence.

Lose dead eye over consumption of multiple tonics

more trains

explosives should explode not on contact but when fuse burns

Im confused, did you suggest to make all blips visible again in the entire map?  Even after they introduced the proximity its still very easy to find ppl, blips are dumb, no other game has them, imagine Battlefield, COD, PUBG having blips lol, strategy = zero.

In a game wheres theres a tool for ppl to get easy kills without even having to aim for real, clearly R* want us to be sitting ducks.

Player blips should just be like NPC’s, they will only show with hostile actions, the game would be way more fun, immersive and griefing free. I assure you, the day R* introduces a lobby like that, they will be more popular than the current ones.

Now this is something I agree, and kinda contradicts the all time shown blips you suggested,I wish I could hide my lvl and cards in the player list, and the name above our heads would be only visible when very near and facing.

Close proximity blips are useful for avoiding collisions on the roads.

That's also the only reason I bought the horse lantern.

Haven't had a collision since.

Much of the time a defensive player is almost completely ghosted on the mini map, sometimes they're very hard to see, that's OK, but I have almost shot some thinking they were NPCs.

LOL no, not a chance would this make the game better. I would love for someone to give me a valid reason that not PvP related why this would be a good idea?

This.

My suggestion would be an actual effective police force in towns but seeing as the game struggles to load more than a few NPC's at once it won't happen. I am tired to the back teeth of entering Valentine to find the entire town dead in the streets and some f*cking bellend on a roof auto-aiming the two Lawmen that ride into town every thirty seconds.

Towns should go into a "Wanted - Dead" status like Arthur has in New Austin in Single Player meaning that they cannot get anywhere near the town without being instantly Wanted. Lawmen should be immune to auto-aiming and should have an active presence of about ten Lawmen in each town just milling around the Sheriffs Office or town Jail.

I dont like lanterns because they scream “Hey Im here, shoot me!” , too much time in survival games I think haha, but I get your point.

This game has so many income options but so little to spend on, they need to add incentives for combat and defense. Once you level up the roles, money is easy to come by and once you purchase the primary items that boost income (large delivery wagon, metal detector, bounty wagon), it becomes monotonous and pointless unless you’re grinding for cosmetics (which for me is meh, especially since previewing outfits prior to purchase is a real pain in the ass).

So here is my idea to make the game better:

  1. Fix or limit payouts for collector role. This role has seriously broken the in-game economy compared to the other two roles. You can earn $100k without even trying in a month just by doing this role alone. For older players who have grinded it, just going to have to let it be for them but fix it going forward. Honestly, you could cut collection prices down in half OR limit the collection pieces to once every 3 days (meaning that piece won’t repop anywhere on the map for a player once collected).
  2. Give a boost to bounty role payouts ($10, $30, $75 on average for single bounties respective to $ level), leave Legendary bounties where they are, remove timer incentives (no more standing outside the jail waiting for 30 seconds remaining).
  3. Slight increase to trader payouts or fix animal populations (it has gotten better, so this is low priority imo).
  4. At least 2 new roles that are the expansion to the BH and Collector roles. Moonshiner is essentially the “evil trader”. So make either make a Assassin or Gang Mercenary role to counter the BH, and Burglar or Grave Robber to counter collector.
  5. New independent roles - Rancher, Prospector, Spelunker, etc. Figure it out.
  6. Homesteads - the camp is cool, but let’s get something bit more permanent, add some story elements, and ability to move/change if wanted (big cost to player). These would probably need to be buildings to be entered and instanced to prevent overlap.
  7. Bank and Train robberies. Seriously needs to be done.
  8. Bank and Train DEFENSE. Let’s make it interesting!
  9. PvP Raid/Defend Mechanics on ALL parts. Camp raids), Moonshine Shack raids, homestead raids, ranch raids, etc. - Results will have level difference scaled rewards/losses - as in if a level 200+ raids a level 30 camp, rewards and losses are reduced to a minimal point. Size of posse matters too. Should be opt-in only and can only be started in one’s own camp, not right outside another’s. Fast travel allowed for defenders.

Any expansion of raids and I'm probably out, or just abandoning the camp.

That's why I hardly play GTA, MC businesses particularly, f*ck that sh*t!

Bank and train robberies need to be timer free, especially if they could be defended by opposing players.

Only stupid robbers rush in when they could be stealthy.

I think expanding current roles by adding higher levels, and commensurate higher rewards/perks would be a good idea.

I would like to rent an apartment. There are several decently large hotels, give them interiors.

Add missions to acquire furnishings/decorations/functional additions, and allow a wide variety of customisation.

Of course it would have to be very costly to set up and maintain.

Add billiards to the larger saloons.

Actually, that's another thing, I'm adding it to my list... more games in the game... blackjack, roulette, etc.

Lots of good ideas in here, only one problem with it all though...

It would mean we're playing our game instead of how R* wants us to play. It would give us more freedom to create a world we want and goes against this 'one size fits all, everyone does the same sh*t' way R* apparently need to push on us.

I don't want to turn this into one of those threads, and I should make clear, I'm a big fan of proximity blips, but, I'd be an even bigger fan of no blips at all, unless someone is actually shooting/being aggressive (lasso etc.) near you.

As far as I'm concerned, as we obviously aren't going to get separate lobby types, every activity should work like local/distant Trader sales and have a PvE and PvP option upon starting said activity.

People in Defensive Mode should have no blips unless they are shooting etc. Offensive Mode should have blips as we are now.

i think all these ideas will arrive by time with several updates..

but sometimes i just can't stand why r* loves making decisions that make their games more frustrating.. everything can be taken so much easily and be so much cooler and still can generate lot of money..

+ if they just add an ability card that encounter pain it black, man i would've paid 100 gb for it no hesitation..

+yeah i would love also if they add the ability to tattoo your horse, also your character.. like those native tribes..

I'm gonna be playing my game regardless.

I've said it before, it bears repeating: it's an open world game, R* even called it that of course (because it is), so I don't give a virtual rat's arse what R* wants us to do.

I'm pretty sure the vast majority of us feel the same. They provide the framework (such as it is) and we make of it what we want.

If a dev isn't comfortable with that, perhaps this isn't the right line of work for them.

The shenanigans players get up to are the strongest point of this type of game as much as anything else.

For the record, I think I prefer the close range blips, again so I don't mistake a player for an NPC.

I don't want to hassle players, but I have no qualms about abusing the hell out of NPCs.

Oh, I agree. I just dislike some elements like how we have to rank up roles to get access to certain equipment and such.

If we had the option to maybe pay more but skip the role, I'd be happier. I forget which, but the eagle eye plus is one I'd like but haven't done the role. That and the game persistently nagging me to buy these stupid top trumps cards every session, lol. I had to buy some just to stop that annoying crap.

Just feels a bit limited for an open world game for me. What I can do as I like is good, but it limits the gaming and see's my desire to play reduced is all.

Lobby choices too, job hosting, all of that needs to come. Although this made me laugh...

Solo or invite only, just to remove the cheaters.

Where do we sign up?

It's long past time for this.

2 minutes ago, Lonely-Martin said:

I know you do, and that you weren't defending or supporting the 'playing the game as intended' line some use.

That's such bullsh*t, I don't play any game 'as intended' if there's a way not to that may be more fun.

More options means more choices about how to play, and there's no way around that, so if they aren't happy with that scenario, then they should stick to scripted single player only from now on, instead of half-assing it like they're doing now.

I also would like to know where sign up is. I was clearing out a hideout earlier with another random player who joined in no big deal I thought, tipped my hat as I went to leave only to get a face full of shotgun................................

Nothing else will do now.

Even if they introduce separate PvE and PvP sessions, cheaters will still infest them, and don't think that there are none on consoles, I was searching through some cheater sites last night to see if I could find out what was possible with these cheat menus and there are menus for PS and XBox.

They seem to be more limited in capability than on PC (probably why they're not as popular, thus less common), but they are there.

While those people are annoying, I can easily tolerate them because I can fight back, if I want to.  It's the hackers, who invisibly blow me up or make me fall through the ground, or cause me to disconnect, or make my camp permanently disappear, or make it rain, plus fog, plus continuous flashing lightning... You get the idea.  It's the hackers that have to go.

I would enjoy somewhere to just bare handed fight real opponents or NPCs. Simple as the mechanics are I have a lot of fun for some reason.

It doesn't have to be complicated to be fun.  I wish more developers would realize that.

A bareknuckle boxing sidegame would be kind of nifty, actually.

It doesn't interest me, but it is relatively popular.

If you joined hardcore lobby in RDR 1, players immediately think you want war. All I really wanted was to grind hideouts in free aim, not be bothered by ^low IQ delinquents^.

This, I just want to be left alone. As I said before, no-one can give me a valid reason why they want map wide blips aside from "Its makes players easier to find". Easier to find for what? Your friends already know where you are or should, the game has systems to find Posses and other game modes etc. Face it, the only reason you want map wide markers is find people to attack.
