(Spoilers) What’s the point trying to enjoy the experience as Arthur?

We all know what happens, and we all know what we lose. 
 

so my point is why bother working hard to get the best gear, the best horse etc.  Why bother doing it all for nothing? Makes more sense doing it in the epilogue right? What’s  your opinion?

I put off all the time consuming stuff til after the epilogues, like collecting cards, bones, rock carvings, legendary hunts, challenges.

I just do the yellow and most of the white quests with Arthur.

It feels way more organic like this.

I can play chapters 1, 2, and 3 slow but once chapter 4 happens I can't slow down till it 1907.

As Arthur I like to do only:

. Main missions

. The stranger missions you cant get as John

. Hunting challenges

. Fishing (well all but the one or two you cant get until epilogue)

. And any other small objective that I happen across

the rest I tend to leave till the epilogue so I have plenty of stuff to do

What do we lose? Arthur's money? John gets x5 more after final mission. And all the items are being transferred to John's inventory.

I don't like playing as John so I almost never do

 

Arthur and Jack are nice because I can kind of do my own thing, but I feel like John's experience is tied too much to the narrative,  I dont feel right f*cking around as him in either game

John gets 20k. Are you saying you only had 4k as Arthur? lol

I had over 50k with Arthur by the middle of chapter 3 just with hunting and selling stuff to the butcher and the fence. (including the coaches)

With Arthur, you can actually justify anything you do. Like robbing a train for example, you could say that he is doing so the get money and fund camp upgrades, but doing it as John is just stupid, I thought he said he'd give up on being an outlaw and just lay low in Beecher's hope, so why would he rob a train? 

 

As Arthur, I like to do as much things as I can and leave the minimum amount of tasks and missions for John because its more logical for Arthur to do so.

Can't we have a GTA style adventure where we just rob banks and stuff and live happily ever after?
