I was one of those old school PS3 players since late 2013 but haven't been bothered to get a PS4 for some reason until Rockstar closed character transfers.

$45 million is more than all my characters combined have ever had, and that's including glitched money. If I had to start over new I'd need only about 5 million to get everything back that I want.

A: Spend money where it will make you more money. 45M goes quick in this game, blasting it on unnecessary fluff will leave you broke and frustrated. Sure the businesses make you work for the money but once you have everything you want, 100+M in the bank you'll feel accomplished.

2 car apartment in grapeseed. Limit myself to one car and one bike, when I get bored of them, I have to sell them in order to bu others. Live without mk2 weapons ( only really the thermal scope I’d miss) live without flying toys and weaponised stuff. Maybe get a pegusus buzzard. That would leave me 42 million in bank to spend on shoes..

Good idea, business give you money overtime if you put the effort in. 45 million is not a lot if you splurge it out on unnecessary things such as super cars and yachts.

45 million isn't a lot to get you banned and wiped. PC players have been banned and wiped for much less than 45 million.

Your better off going on last gen where there's no flying bikes and you can easily buy every shoes in the game. Personally my character never wears shoes unless in certain missions and I've wasted a lot of money on shoes my character will never wear. That was on PS3 before I got a PS4.

Yeah, 45 million isn't a lot of money that can get you banned and wiped, there's PC players who've been banned and wiped for much less. Unless you have all the business, getting cars and bikes isn't a good idea since 45 million in this game is little money.

Spoken like somebody who has yet to encounter the automated system, you're thinking we're all idiots, but consider this, people who voted for that option (myself included) most likely all have experience with getting a ban for 'gifted' money, if you have spent several mil of cheater money and havent noticed any downsides from that yet then hey, good on you, but know that some day when you least expect either the automated system or some random support person looking at your profile will suddenly decide to f- you over.

(On a somewhat off-topic sidenote this poll is pretty golden considering the discussion i had with @Gaffa recently, nobody gets told why they get banned right? i think the fact that reporting the money being second voted option says something else, with how often people claim you never get caught you'd think fewer people would vote for the report option?)

thats why you spend it quickly as soon as you get it. they will do a money wipe on that and then the ban but if you spend it on all sorts of sh*t nothing would happen. its like money laundering, but instead of the irs you got a broken multiplayer economy and a sh*tty iphone knockoff

Besides, as infected virus said, that lump sum isnt huge enough for crookstar to take notice

i aint played this sh*t in months but i still remember how it goes. its an unfair game, so you take unfair measures

I came from PS3 where there's modders rampant long after Rockstar stopped supporting last gen and Rockstar also don't care about modders and cheated money on PS3 so the chances of getting banned and wiped on PS3 are so slim that you more likely to win the lottery. I've never felt the wrath of the automated system since I'm now on PS4 and I'm a legit grinder, never glitched and I've never even done the Bogdan finale glitch ever.

I think the Rockstar automated system mainly targets PC because of the amount of modders there and they're definitely paying attention to people who may have modded stuff.  I've never heard of modders on console and I've personally never ever saw one ever since I've left PS3 for good, so the Rockstar automated system doesn't target console players UNLESS they took in HUNDREDS OF MILLIONS or BILLIONS and TRILLIONS of dollars in a short sitting, most famous example the recent Chip freeze glitch which I've never done myself and I don't ever intend to do it. There's plenty of players who got modded money from last gen and transferred it to console which could be billions or trillions of dollars haven't been flagged or I'm not aware that anyone with that insane amount of money having been flagged.

As I said plenty of times here before, I heard horror stories of PC players getting banned and wiped that have nothing to do with money and just happened to be in the same car with a cheater with god mode and the god mode may have unwittingly transferred over to the innocent player and that's what will trigger the Rockstar anti cheat software and also people who may have accidentally left single player mods on when joining online or accidentally left on outside programs that triggers R* anti cheat system. I do feel bad for those innocent PC players who got falsely flagged by the R* anti cheat software.

There's also a risk in reporting that money to Rockstar and they may falsely flag players for unwillingly taking that $45 million. It's like someone gives a person drugs and the person who got drug reports it to police and the police arrest the person who got the drugs or the police will simply take the drugs and let that person go free. It's like with Rockstar, you'll either get banned and wiped or Rockstar will take that money away and nothing will happen.

I'm guessing that random person is a Rockstar police who'll check on profiles that are dodgy and if they determine your file is dodgy then BAN and WIPE HAMMER.

If someone does, get the money, it's best to spend it ASAP so R* doesn't catch you.

The chances of getting banned for modded money is slim, better spend it on something such as businesses. Your more likely to get banned just by being in a cheater's car or accidentally having outside programs in the game, that's on PC that is.

Makes sense.

Besides all of that, I don't care about morals in this game anyway. They've made billions off of milking the same crap so I don't care about cheating. Sorry not sorry.

That said, if I was new and someone gifted me 45 mil, I'd spend it as quickly as possible to avoid any potential harmless adjustments to my bank account. Buy any/most cars I need, offices, penthouse, all that. It wouldn't be hard as currently everything I own is 120 mil so I'd actually run out before getting everything I want

This actually happend to me in 2017, but with 60 Mio. I reported it to R, twice, and never spend a single buck. I still have that money, it never got removed. But tbf, I already wasn't a new player at that time.

Report It! People get banned all the time for recieving modded money, you may still get to keep it but it covers your back.

This kinda happened to me back on the xbox 360 in 2013.

I hunted down a bounty killed them and before I knew it my wealth had increased from under 100k to over a billion. I spent some of it back then we could only own a apartment 10 cars and pegasus stuff.

I was always into racing so my 10 cars were split between all the classes, Not saving 10 Adder's for resale. (in fact to this day I have never owned a Adder)

Then I realised that the unlimited money ruined the game for me, there was nothing to play for.

I ended up contacting Rstart support and asked for the cash to be removed.

Which they did, they left me with a million credits and everything I had purchased.

If this was to happen again I would report it before spending anything, I do not think it is worth the risk, the punishment is a lot more strict than it used to be.

Cover your own back.

And tbh it may seem like a chore but saving up and grinding can be rewarding in itself and Invest your ground cash well and you will have to grind less,

Once you got everything from grinding the businesses, there's huge satisfaction on the hard work put in.

At least you have a good head start and you can spend it on businesses and grind them until you use the legit money to get whatever you want.

You can't get banned for receiving modded money unless it hundreds of billions or trillions of dollars but even then, getting banned and wiped on PS3 or Xbox 360 with that amount of money is so slim that your more likely to win the lottery. Plenty of last gen players transferred their billions or trillions of cheated money on to current gen consoles and never been banned or wiped since the R* automated system mainly targets PC players due to the amount of modders there. As I said before, the R* anti cheat system is more likely to flag innocent PC players who didn't even take any modded money and they've just happened to be in the same car as a god mode cheater who unknowingly transferred their god mode onto them and the R* anti cheat falsely flagged the innocent player.

In bad sport that is. Assuming you have all the businesses in the game then buying two Oppressors MK-II is a good idea, just don't grief with it. If you do grief with it then at least you'll be in bad sport lobbies.

I haven't heard anyone getting banned and wiped for taking 45 million or less unless they took in billions or trillions of dollars of cheated money.

This thread is honestly pretty interesting, lots of people (some kinda covertly) admitting they have gotten bans for this in the past but topic starter and another guy stay 1000% sure that you cant get in trouble for this.

One thing that does jump out at me is that all of us who've gotten into trouble for this did so at least 2 or more years ago. Would be interesting to see if we have people who encountered this more recently or if at some point R* has just given up on these kind of bans.

About (A) R* recently finally admitted this to themselves (after all these years..) so since the casino heist dlc we can report cheaters trough the support site using video evidence, if your gpu driver has some recording functionality built-in just look up the shortcut for that, when you come across a cheater just record a few mins of footage, throw that at youtube, then share that video url with R* support. The downside is it takes more effort to report a cheater, the upside is you have undeniable evidence that will get them a ban. (ingame reports are sorta iffy when it comes to some cheats, if the game cant detect stuff is acting weird your ingame report is bscly useless, if you have video of some dude flying around on a boat while doing driveby's with an explosive minigun then its pretty obvious hes cheating)
