New player, made an Online character. Character is now gone

Hello there! (General Kenobi! Wait... wrong franchise...)

 

Last night (to be exact, early in the morning, around 1AM-3AM on 06/27/2020), I completed the GTAV prologue. Upon completion, I went directly to Online, successfully created a character, played as this character for almost two hours with two friends of mine, and eventually logged off for the time being. I seem to be having some sort of client-side issue where my character is either deleted or inaccessible. When I go to access the online portion of GTAV, even if I join my friend's server directly, I am shunted from the game world before I'm even able to enter and I receive an error along the lines of, "Failed to join an online session because you need to create an Online character."

 

Upon going to "Choose Character" for Online, the character I had rolled last night is just plain gone. To be clear, I did not delete the character in question. Is there any way to restore a character lost in this fashion? The official Rockstar Support ticket system appears to be bugged (""There was an error on submission. Please check all fields and try again.") and I cannot post the question on the official support forums (""The ability to post questions and comments on Support Community Forums is available to players who have been registered with Social Club for at least one month. If you are a brand new Social Club member (less than one month), please feel free to browse.")

 

I know that losing a character that is only a couple of days old isn't a big deal, but I'm mostly wondering just to make sure I can keep this from potentially happening again.

I'm not there any longer but the Rockstar player forum is poorly designed, poorly managed, and "broke" frequently so it's not at all surprising you would get those messages.  Unfortunately you still need to contact Rockstar support for the Character issue and try to get a ticket in. At the very least, now I know how to properly 'force' a save to trigger when I either remake my character or get my character back! In the meanwhile, I'll keep trying to fire off a support ticket and just hope one eventually goes through. Thank you kindly!
