Almostnasty
I only use explosive ammo as a deterrent when I find myself in the middle of a shootout I never signed up for. I’m far too lazy to constantly craft a stock of special ammo, so I try to use it sparingly. DentureDynamite and Ronin Ogami

Buddy Hightower
So yesterday I was out doing treasure maps and i come across a rival moonshiner random event. It tells me go to their location and destroy their moonshine equipment. I see it on the map and go over there. As I get there I see that the event is down in a valley of sorts - I was somewhere near Tumbleweed at the time. From my spot I could see them walking around and I noticed what looked like the equipment. So I thought, well hell, just pull out the sniper rifle, load an explosive round, and blow it up from here. Boom - mission complete, your cost of mesh has been reduced.... Awesome fryday, jazzbone and Ronin Ogami

Its stupid and unrealistic But they won't. They don't have a clue about pvp. They have managed to ruin just about every pvp activity in RDO. Showdowns now seem to be in perpetual 'special edition' mode where you don't get to use the guns you have bought and have to use rusty knives instead. Then they ruin free roam events by having dailies that involve taking explosives into them. Lots of people join them for the first 2 minutes to get their dailies and then leave. By then you've been blown up half a dozen times and lost all interest. There is no wonder that people who enjoy pvp random start fights in lobbies. It's the only place you can get to fight under normal conditions with normal weapons. DentureDynamite
Would using explosive rounds with a Rolling Block rifle always result in a one-shot kill at say, 80-100 in-game yards? Just curious if anyone knows; I got two solid shots (with hit marks) on a griefer recently, but only the second shot killed him. I was under the impression that one solid hit (non-headshots) from explosive ammo would result in a one-shot kill? Especially as there was only two seconds in between the shots, so very little time for him to "tonic" up. They may have been using some mod which prevented the first shot kill. Many griefers I've had to deal with have some "illegal" thing like a mod they use to make them tougher to beat or even invincible. Not surprising really considering the childish mindset it takes to go around screwing with people who do nothing to you. Those people somehow feel it's some great victory by cheating to accomplish it. DentureDynamite
^^ Thanks! That might also explain how he was able to get a pretty darn good headshot on me (in reviewing the video, very little time to aim) with an improved bow at medium distance. I'm also pretty sure he teleported in (rather than randomly spawned in) as there were absolutely no players around until I suddenly saw him within a few feet of me up on a small mesa area outside of Tumbleweed. bonafidebaconbit
Personally see no issue. Everyone can use them. If it wasn’t explosive rounds, it’d be something else people would be complaining about.

What I find funny is people who gripe about those of us that use explosive rounds on griefers, especially noobs who want to screw with people. I keep one rifle loaded with it at all times specifically for the occassion. Don't whine about it. If you start s*** for no reason you better accept the result. Tracking arrows do less damage than other arrows. All they do is give a green trail when you are in eagle eye. They are pointless in every situation other than doing dailies. They require a scent gland to craft. Good luck farming muskrats and skunks. Muskrats are found around waterfronts. They're usually not hard to find unless there is a spawning issue going on. Megadeus
Lame and unrealistic. Ruins the whole western gunslinger vibe I could understand maaybe having it a limited ammo type deal or have it only work on NPC's, but thats about it. It makes any pvp shootout event automatically unplayable. IDK why it's in the game, or why its only accessible to higher level players who clearly wouldn't even need it. And even if it were accessible to all, we didnt buy an old western game to run around with rapid fire grenade launchers 24/7. Just silly.
