Haven't tested yet, but I've been having good/expected performance since pretty much the beginning so. Am curious about patch notes for this one as it was such a minor update version-wise.

This is a platform-wide bug and will not be fixed in a PC patch.

The fact that Rockstar is still trying to make the game perfect on PC after 8 months is really something to talk about. Kudos to them. But also f*ck them for RDO update drought.

Can't say it improved performance since for me it was the previous patch that improved it. I wonder if a new NVIDIA driver will actually help.

Nvidia said their next driver will activate WDDM 2.7 on win 10 2004..that supposed to improve performance.  its expected this month (june) according to them. so still waiting.

What is the point of releasing a PC Patch from time to time what about a New DLC Update !!!! 6 Months without a Full Update ????

They arent trying to make the game perfect. They are fixing the mess they made releasing the game too early. I hate the f*cking blur in 1080p. They need to implement new AA methods or fix the TAA mess.

It was never supposed to be a big patch, the version number literally increased .01

Why they patch something and destroyed the last good patch.

From now, again i got a little sluttering screen, again the people in shack are missing and i need to enter and re-enter few times for them to reapear /maggie and marcel/.

i just tried singleplayer and the game stuck on loading screen between cinematic camera and taking control of story.

They again blew something up, i just hope again that maybe they implemented something for new nvidia and amd driver for windows, or they will realise they f*cked it again and redo it?

Or we will continue to dream.

They fixed the blur by allowing the TAA sharpening to go way high up now. So increase the sharpening more and no more blur atleast not in my case.

As it should. I really hope the jump in performance is significant enough to make a difference. Gonna test it myself shortly.

EDIT: Hilariously the latest drivers reduced my performance across all games by 4%. Typical botched Nvidia drivers. Or maybe they are gimping 10xx cards.

some people are reporting up to 10 fps increase in min and max fps in rdr2 pc.  using VULKAN api.

did you turn on hardware scheduling on windows?  its off by default you have to turn it on and restart.

It was probably Take-Two that set the release date, not Rockstar.

I honestly doubt Rockstar's clout gives them no input on that, but the point is that I don't like to hear fanfare about how hard Rockstar is working to make its game perfect (I'm not saying you've done that).

The amount of effort that they have expended post-release is at best 10% of what they should have been expending. I could post a list of exactly what has been accomplished in eight months. Using an existing engine, Obsidian developed an entire game in eighteen months. Everyone knows that the reason there's going to be at least 10 years between GTA games for the first time is that Rockstar can make more money doing almost nothing.

Are they accomplishing stuff with RDR2? Sure. In a two-steps-forward-half-a-step-back sort of way. But they're doing it at Very Low Priority status, which I don't approve of when they have already taken $60+ USD from millions of people.

Rockstar is a subsidiary of Take-Two. Take-Two is in charge. I'm sure if it was up to Rockstar, release would have been pushed back. They had to have known they game was in pretty poor shape before it was released. There are still issues that haven't been fixed completely and who knows if some of them ever will be since they seem server related. Animal spawns for one. On private servers they were all over the place. Normal servers, many times they are hard to find. That's just one example.

That being said, no company is going to let something with problems just continue. They will try to fix them, even though their attempts may be unsuccessful. Some issues may be unfixable.

What bothers me is they don't communicate with players about what they're trying to fix and in some cases don't even acknowledge major issues that are being reported.

That's right. With a situation like Rockstar though, I find it very hard to believe that the studio leads don't have considerable influence. They're not simply expendable. In other words, Take-Two ultimately calls the shots, but I believe that Rockstar is very much on board, as opposed to being whipped around, forced to compromise their principles.

Really though, I think this is a meaningless distinction for this purpose. I often remind people that in AAA today, the "publisher" is actually the developer, and the studios are just company departments. I could say "Take-Two" instead of Rockstar, but my points would be exactly the same. It's just that, unlike other, "lesser" studios who have little autonomy, I believe that Rockstar could expend as much effort to fix its game as it wanted to. And if not, just substitute "Take-Two" for "Rockstar".

Overall, at Take-Two and Sons, there is a lot of Minimum Effort goin' on of late.

So, installed the new driver, activated the thing, rebooted. Can't see visible performance boost but it runs pretty smooth anyway. Vulkan, GTX 1060 by the way.

Many of the "subsidiary" companies are under time constraints. I think many companies set the deadline and figure things will get fixed as they go along after that. With many games, the buyers are the beta testers. Millions of people will find issues a lot faster than some people sitting in some office building.  The mama company has to keep the stockholders happy so they want these games released when they feel the time is appropriate to get that cash flow started.

I don't disagree with the speed of fixes, or content updates either. I am also not making excuses for Rockstar. Seeing as how Civilization 6 is also part of Take-Two, and those developers get fixes and updates out rather quick, it does seem reasonable to say the developers are the problem in Rockstar. And again, there may be some things they don't know how to fix, especialy online. Their outdated servers are one problem but they insist on using P2P.
