It's more like the store made a f*ckup and put it on the shelves or something.. You can tell the box is think and it is the ps2 box. I went to gamestop two days ago and i saw the pc box on display it is alot thicker just like most pc game boxes are. He faked the damn label. Uh, are you sure that wasn't just a display model? Those tend to be much bigger to catch your eye. All (at least most) PC gaming packages nowadays are much smaller than they used to. Just look at the screen of the cds, to forge that it would take a lot of time and special tools. The blurry picture is just a picture so it's hard to get depth perception to see the thickness of the box. Looks overall legit. A number of members from here (I can recall Martin TH making a hilarious guide about it) have made fake pictures of the VC box. However, this one looks fairly real. There aren't any easily visible things that point out fakeness. It looks like the box is made of cardboard, just like a real PC game box. And I don't think the PS2 box had that cool shiny effect on the Vice City part. Conclusion: It's possible that he does have an advance copy of the game. However, I wanna see some screenshots. (the part we can see). then take 2 blank cd's and us a cd stomper to make the cd. yes sure this would take a very long time but perhaps that guy has no life and tricks people into thinking things that aren't true for fun. if he comes up with an installation screen, it can be easily made. the only way to prove this would be an in game screen shot with a reticle floating around constantly. well but then again this isn't really worth making such a big fuss about.........5 MORE DAYS TILL VC PC VERSION RELEASE IN US. And actually a shipment from 12th to 13th seems kinda stupid. Since most will probably start sellling the 14th because they have to make it all set, with banners and ads and all that sh*t. The logo on the box, the "Vice City" logo, is 3d, and chromes, much like the gta3 pc boxes, so that rules it out as being a ps2 box. 2. The label. while not real hard to fake, it does look extremely real, and it even says "WINDOWS CD-ROM, GRAND THEFT AUTO VICE", and the semi-3d gta3-esque logo. also, due to the utter lack of sheen/shine, that would be there if it was a plastic covered box, and the fact you can see the image at the very top of the box (what you see inside the front cover), behind the promo flap-cover, is more proof. the cd's look too simple IMO, but very authentic, as if R* didnt care about the label design, but aside from the cheap look (mirroed images? c'mon...) its seems pretty authentic. conclusion. But the store is run by humans, and humans do error, so its no impossible. But they do tend to be alert and be sure it doesnt get selled pre release date at big launches. They did the same with UT2k3 and C&C Generals. The stores wouldnt even accept that they were given a go-ahead from the developers to sell it. It said on the forums that they could sell it when they got it. If you asked the stores they wouldnt sell, even if you showed it was released. But there is no law or enforcement to make it "impossible". As for the box. ill grant him it LOOKS real, and R*'s email i got today, now saying the game will be ON SHELVES on the 13, and not "shipping" makes me even more wary... The worst thing that can happen is that they stop the contract with you. And i dont think its gonna happen, unless they keep doing it. Even people as EA can understand that human do error.
