itsjake88 Posted May 10, 2003 Share Posted May 10, 2003 I have read all of the reviews and previews for Vice City. For you PS2 fanboys, you have to admit that Vice City will be better on PC. It actually runs better then GTA3 i have heard. I laughed my ass off when i read the gamespy review: http://www.gamespy.com/reviews/may03/vicecitypc/ The Lowdown: Arguably better than the PS2 version, Vice City is easily one of the best PC games we've played this year. A must-have. Pros: Brilliant, open-ended gameplay; great voiceovers and soundtrack; weeks of replay value; several improvements for the PC. Cons: Some awkward clipping issues and awkward character animations remain from the PS2 version. They use the PS2 version as a base for the cons!! I am not trying to start any debates here, i just wanted to tell you remaining Vice: ps2 players this. Exkabewbikadid Posted May 10, 2003 Share Posted May 10, 2003 I won't say too much untill I have VC:PC installed and running, but yeah, I think the PC version will be so much better than the PS2 version that it'll be criminal (< Yeah, I stole that "criminal" line from somewhere). In fact, I still rather play GTA3:PC instead of VC:PS2 as we speak! Hehe, 4 more days untill we get to experience the game the way it was meant to be experienced. It doesn't 'take away' games from the PC or anything, and it definitely doesn't claim to be better than a PC. The main thing it's good at is giving Non PC users access to computer games without the massive price of a PC. I'm sure you can all see that? If you think about it, GTA has alwas been better on PC, mainly from wasier playing and better graphics, theres also the mods. Say with the first gta you had to hold down a button and move the control stick to walk LAME. I havn't played the second on a console but im sure its worse . GTA3 was alot better graphics and ran smoother on the PC then the PS2 because of well graphics and MODS. And im sure GTA VC will own the PS2 version because of well graphics and MODS!!! They didn't improve on the PS2 version at all.. actually , the Ps2 version was better, minus the graphics department. Otherwise it's the exact same thing, except it deserves to be on a console, not our beloved PC's that are capable of so much more then a console. Only that R* is to lazy to make it optimized for it, or they just don't know how. Mafia is much better then VC , mostly because the vehicles don't disappear when you are being chased by cops on foot causing you to run around looking for one in a spawn location. It's a dedicated gaming machine, where as the PC, as you put it your self jake, is a Multi-Functional Tool... which is just fine. I have a question for you jake... why PS2 and not XBox? You complain about the PS2 trying to "be" a PC, but the XBox over does it with buildin HDD and Modem, right? Live with the precense of the consoles jake... Looking forward to the PS3! GTA started on the PC and now ps2 made some gay exclusivity deal with r* to keep GTA off other consoles and off PC for 6 months.
